Hi! Because of this video I just published my very first video 2 days ago. I thank you so much for the inspiration and some ideas! It might not be the best but Im going to improve on it every time, from one video to another!
My channel has been in existence for 5 years. I got serious 4 years ago. In those 4 years of my cooking channel I was learning when it came to videos. I gained 2000 subs in that time. I think I dialed it in this year gaining over 1500 subs this year so far. I will say trying to find how to be successful with a cooking channel is almost none existent. Good video friend😊
Just the vid I needed to watch today! Currently planning to start my own cooking channel so doing some research on how to start...but you should be able to see a few videos over the next couple weeks!
Glad you found it useful! tried to make it as pragmatic as possible...looking forward to seeing your videos soon...post you first one in the comments below!
I started a Cooking Channel a couple of months ago. I’m not comfortable in front of the camera. I’m not a chef I just like to cook. I won’t even say that I’m a great cook but thanks for the advice, and I would love for you to continue this conversation talking about your journey.
Using your iPhone is really good for making yt shorts if you don’t have the money for a camera yet too. When I’m recording I change it to 4k 60 with my flash on cuz one thing I struggle with is lighting for sure cuz my apartment. Also love the channel!
My first watching!!!God bless You!!!!You have the best Personality and sound great! Thank you for all of your info on trying to start a cooking Show.God bless
I really like your channel. Your shorts are excellent. For me my biggest problem is consistency. My job is brutal and I barely have time to do one video every two weeks. I have been close to giving up but I do love cooking and making videos. I was very hesitant about doing shorts but I think they are the way of the future so I just started doing them. Anyway I’m rambling but thank you for so much valuable information and I look forward to seeing more of your content!! Like 6 😎
Same here - long form content is a lot more time consuming both to prepare for and record. I find shorts to be an excellent option if you have time constraint. If you choose to go for the shorts route my strong advice is to also post them on TikTok and Instagram as you will find one of those platforms will give you good satisfaction! good luck!
Thank you, this was great!! So appreciate you sharing and giving back. Planning my own spin on cooking channel/pod etc. You've given me a lot of great information to work with. :)☺
Really nice, friendly and natural presentation. Very enjoyable and watchable. You deserve to be successful. A lot of honesty in your video. The tips are super helpful. Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you for this video. This has really motivated me. I am just starting my journey as a food content creator. Recorded tons of videos but have not posted any.
Appreciate the insight! I am giving serious consideration to starting my own cooking channel, and this was/is very helpful. My gf is one of those who doesn't like to cook at all, so I thought easy recipes for others like her would be a good way to go. Simple step by step recipes for those who don't like to cook, but also can't just eat out every day.
Thanks for the tips, I too started a cooking channel few months back, then took a break for more than a couple of months :( but now i will try to be consistant in future.
Thank you for your advice😊 I started almost 2 years ago but still didn't reach 500 folowers and I posted 6 days now just 5.Anyway I am doing my best with what I have at the moment.
Great advice! Thanks so much 😊Also just starting out with cooking videos and experimenting trying to develop our own style and grow our cooking channel.
Excellent advice mate, really like the point about review videos to gain traction. I was also noticing that on your channel those videos were getting remarkably higher views. Great job on your channel growth!
I really appreciate your video.. Its great for me cause I have started my cooking channel and literally I'm just sitting on 37 subscribers.. Any specific reddit group you suggest? You are so right my subscribers are mom dad brother lol.. it's a lot more frustrating than it looks.. Just praying to the Lord that my hardwork is blessed with subscribers and views and most importantly my channel gets monetized,. Thank you for your advice,.
Glad it was useful - reddit groups are in the video descriptions…a word of advice on being monetized…unless you have 100k+ followers you really make no money via monetisation…
These are really good points. I actually watched your Charbroil grill review and loved the way you did the review, hence me clicking on this video next. I love your content and honesty. New subscriber here🙌🏽
Thank you so much! really appreciate it! btw used that bbq all through out winter...nice little cheap bqq to have around the house for a cheecky burger!
This is amazing advice! I've been trying to figure out how to start a cooking channel, and the issue I'm running into is there's almost no way of "batch making" cooking videos since food is perishable. I've been able to do it for this channel and another one, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do that for my cooking one. The info in your video is very helpful, however!
Happy to help! For the batch you need to work smart and not always you will have recipes that work but for example you could do a sunday meal where you make home made bread as well as the main course...or you have a meal where you have a cold appetiser and a main...you can record both and then break into 2 videos. Good Luck!
Thank you for the advise. Always nice to hear something new. I need to get back to posting on TikTok! I found the shorts messed with my long video views, but it does give you more subscribers. I love Italian food and lived in Italy for 3 months and loved it!! Congratulations on your success! 😊🌺🌷
Your channel is beautiful! On the shorts I watched a Ted Talk which was saying that YT is still not linking the shorts audience with the long form and in a way is like you have two channels in one and two separate audience. But I had a short that got 1mm views and I did see a big pick up in my long form for a couple of months then dropped to the usual amount. I am of the view that if we are small we just need to get as many eyeballs as possible on our content then once you are a little large maybe narrow your target audience. Best of luck on your channel! you definitively deserve a lot more subscribers!!
Great Video. Much needed! Congrats on you success on YT. I'm Glad it finally took off. I recently started making cooking videos and it's not easy to keep going when the progress is slow. I hope I'll have your patience and persistence to keep doing it.
Thanks! Persistence is key, even with my 7k subscribers many video don’t do well at all and is frustrating…but we should try to always make better videos and that include titles and thumbs! Good luck!
Just starting my journey as food contents creator. Boy it's not easy as I thought. Hopefully would go through this. Thank you for the advice and motivation. ❤
Nice advice, got a couple ideas but yeah, some of these I also learned the hard way, nice to see these are familiar so It feels like going the right way. My channel's idea is Mexican living in Finland cooking stuff with what I find here. Some mexican and some finnish stuff. Nice channel btw!
Hi! I just came across your video and I love your explanations very great informations . I am from west Africa and I want to start a cooking channel teaching people about food from my country.
Hey man, you're very natural on camera and relatable. Great vid! Just watched some of your more recent vids I think you're using AI to enhance your voice and maybe a different mic - not as good imo. The more natural audio is a bit better. You should redo some of your early vids or an intro to Italian cooking series or something. Also for your thumbnails I think you should experiment with different text as it's hard to read in red. (more educational vids would work well I think) Anyway, just trying to help out :) Hope you're keeping well!
thanks for the feedback and good ear on the ai, i have mixed feelings about it but wanted to try it out. Will take your advice, very thoughtful thanks!
Thank you for this video! I'm about to start my own channel this month. Would you do a video on your earnings after you got monetized? I think it could be very helpful for people in the same position.
