I ordered these last month, when they arrived they were the superlite version, no power holes. Thought about returning them but couldn't resist shiny new clubs. They are rocket launchers. The 4 hybrid is a mini cannon, 200 yards all day off fairway. Irons are strong and go super high. Grips suck so having them changed as we speak. All said, Wilson D300 superlite irons and 4 hybrid are a great deal at 349.00 bucks. I would recommend them to anyone trying to get a little extra height and distance with iron shots.
At first I thought here we go again stupid strong lofts but then I saw the spin rate , and for the price who needs m2s/ xrs/ g max etc . Amazing product
You will get those push hits with the D300 and C200, the shafts are lighter weight and they are longer shafts than the length of the players irons you are accustomed to. The lighter shafts and longer length are to help your high handicap golfer generate higher club head speed to get the ball higher in the air to gain needed distance.
Have had the D300's for about a month now.. Getting acquainted with them.. Have had a "mixed bag" of individual clubs for years, now sprung for a complete set of irons when I heard about these. It was between the Cleveland Launchers or the D300's. On some of the clubs(5 iron) I have had a control issue, but the 9,8,7 and 6 are great so far. PW is ok.
Hey Rick I like your reviews and comments on the clubs. I would like to see someone who has club reviews of someone who don’t swing clubs for a living.. rough swing fat shots from time to time.. you normal guys.. that would be awesome..
Great review! Picking up my set from Wilson HQ tomorrow morning! Agree with a lot of what you said but as a terrible (18 handicap) they felt great and I hit them better then any other clubs I demo'd
"D is for delofting, that's all that's happening here"... I don't think Wilson is being given enough credit here. As pointed out in the review, the peak height is right up there, if not even higher, than the comparable 7-irons. Plus some comments have pointed out the spin isn't too bad either.
kittykeroppi I think you nailed it. It’s always a combination of all the factors. If they move weight lower in the clubhead the ball launches higher. If they used “muscle back” iron lofts with these designs he would be hitting the seven iron 120 yds with 50yd peak height. It’s not trickery it’s just a design that is optimized to fit a certain type of golfer. Comparing it to the v6 iron and deducing the different flights to loft is sort of ignorant.
Hey Rick - great channel. Did Wilson send you the C200 and the FG Tour F 5 irons? They are their middle range/crossover irons between players and distance and where I more see myself. Cheers.
Loved the V6 review and this was good to show who they're not aimed at. Be good to see how a higher hacp golfer would cope with these.. I mean higher than Rob who is struggling for distance.
If Shiels had done his homework, Power Holes is not a wierd name; its an old Wilson tech from tennis rackets which Serena still uses in her racket - it does pretty much the same in a golfclub, makes the sweet spot larger.
Love the review, I have just bought these irons! they look fantastic! Here in Quebec Canada we are in snow so I have some ways to go before trying them. I will be trying them inside though. Can't wait till spring!
great to see a review of other company irons. still a big name in golf but have been really wanting reviews on other manufacturers not quite as high in the price range. have the C100 clubs myself and have found them a great beginner set to improve my game with. have always been hitting a club less than my playing partners and saw a similarity with some of your comments. great set of clubs for me though :-)
Rick just wondering why don’t we use same sized shafts as the loft and same swing makes you hit the right distance you want🤷♂️ I have a Mizuno jpx set but I have 7 in the Wilson d300 and love getting it out if I’m mixed about distance between 6 and 7. Really good club out of the rough too. I paid $9 bucks for it to
As much as I liked the V6.., must say Wilson went a bit over the top with the lofts and much bigger head on these clubs. But must admit.., I really do like the shinny & dull chrome finish on all the latest Wilson clubs.., Tour, V6 and D300.
That seems to be a recurring theme with some of these max gi irons. More manufacturers should follow what cobra and mizuno have done with the wedges at the end of their sets gi sets.
Great review! One more thing Rick, remember when you said you were going to do a review on the M2 hybrid? Can you forward a link to that review. Thanks in advance.
have a question for you.....i am 53 about an 15-20 handicap.....am trying to decide between wilson staff D200 or D300 irons.......am i gonna notice any real diffrence to make it worth the price ???? price of the D200 are 499 the D300 are 999
Hi Rick. I'm in the market for some new irons at the min. I'm 55 years old and play of 16. Just wondering if these clubs would be ideal for me..? Or is there any other clubs you could recommend for me. Thanks a lot for any help you can give.
All the clubs out there would be much easier to compare if we did away with numbers and just called them by their lofts. It's stupid to compare that wedge at 43 deg with a normal wedge of 48 deg in a blade set just because they've got the same letter printed on them. With the range of clubs available today you don't need stronger lofts. What's wrong with 60-56-52-48-44-40-36-32-28-hybrid-hybrid-3-wood-driver-putter or something ? Perfect gappage.
Thanks Rick! I consider myself a good/not great player (5 handicap) and I know I could probably benefit from this club but I just can't get used to the size of the head. I have always preferred blades even though I am sometimes punished. Love your videos...big fan!
I noticed that every shot with every club was toe down which would account for the left/right dispersion. It's probably why you didn't like the feel. How long are the shafts compared to other irons?
The Benross rip speed 10 irons, ( which you reviewed nearly 2 years ago) are more lofted than these irons, go further, & are a quarter of the price....
I'm sorry to comment so late, but I was wanting to pick up a set of these D300's second hand. The problem is, all I can find are D300 SL's, which is a combo set with a hybrid 4 iron. Are all of the D300 sets like this or is the D300 SL a different set? Thanks in advance. PS: I am a new subscriber and have binge watched your videos to "catch up" lol
Jonathan Cassidy I wondered the same, seeing the quad against the wall... Rick we want a review and stat comparison of affordable launch monitors... please $400- $2000
Jonathan Cassidy Rick commented on a previous video that he was having some software issues and couldn't get the GC Quad to work with the software he uses for the ball flight graphics.
The Wilson D range of irons are always monsters.. I think the C200 irons would perform closest to these and look less chunky, is there a C300 range in the wings?
paulstanando1975 the C200? I don't think they are hideous. For what it's worth I have played with blades and honestly would put the new Callaway Steelhead in the bag as I think the topline isn't too bad
So the 7 is a 6 relabeled. Clubs so you can brag to your buddies you hit a "7" 185 yards. There needs to be standards for club number and lofts, otherwise the club number means nothing.
For me these would not work at all, I don't have problems with distance and there standard set goes 5-PW so i'd be buying 4 extra aftermarket wedges to fill my short game gap. However for people new to the game and high handicappers that struggle with distance they may be the perfect fit. The height and spin was fairly impressive considering the loft and they are priced pretty well in the market.
I currently have my old Callaway 2004 Big Bertha irons. I am wondering if I would see a big improvement with the Wilson D300. I currently have a 16 handicap and my general weakness is iron distance.
I can't believe you are so amazed that a 6 iron loft with a 7 stamped on the bottom carries like a 6 iron. It's just that simple, quit expressing disbelief.
Rick, probably the best spin numbers for all of the strong lofted irons you've tested.
I think for a super big iron these still look really nice. Wilson have nailed the look of their irons this year.
I love my Wilson D100 clubs I bought 3 years ago, I'm going to continue to play them and see what they come out with next year.
At first I thought here we go again stupid strong lofts but then I saw the spin rate , and for the price who needs m2s/ xrs/ g max etc . Amazing product
i personally have the d200s. these irons are not the most popular but that are amazing for improving your game
Got a set of the D300's! Great set for higher handicappers! He's RIGHT though on the 5 though...not as much control..
You didn’t have much control on your I3 either I guess
You will get those push hits with the D300 and C200, the shafts are lighter weight and they are longer shafts than the length of the players irons you are accustomed to. i bought the d200 irons love them really improved my game!
I’ve been hitting these clubs for the last 2 yrs and love them
i bought these last year they are awesome really helped me make better shots!
The spin is actually not bad.
Great review! Picking up my set from Wilson HQ tomorrow morning! Agree with a lot of what you said but as a terrible (18 handicap) they felt great and I hit them better then any other clubs I demo'd
How have you been playing with them?I'm looking at buying a set of Wilson's, struggling to pick which ones, really liking the look of these
@@leadier Hoya what Wilson clubs did you go with then ?
Found them. Bought them. Love them. Just looking down at them makes me happier. Works for a bogie golfer.
Another vote for a C200 review. Great channel Rick. Thanks.
Wilson. I'm impressed. Love the FG Tour irons especially. Those V6's are awesome too. Great job!!
Rick, you hit those V6 irons to good....BAG THEM ..
"D is for delofting, that's all that's happening here"... I don't think Wilson is being given enough credit here. As pointed out in the review, the peak height is right up there, if not even higher, than the comparable 7-irons. Plus some comments have pointed out the spin isn't too bad either.

Let's see a comparison with the TaylorMade M2s??? I'd love to see that!
Rick, These would be a good iron for Rob to review.
I hope you review the c200 irons. I wonder if they wouldn't better serve golfers by making the wedge less chunky.
If Shiels had done his homework, Power Holes is not a wierd name; its an old Wilson tech from tennis rackets which Serena still uses in her racket - it does pretty much the same in a golfclub, makes the sweet spot larger.
43 degrees loft on the pw is exactly the same as the 716 AP1 pw. Haven't heard anyone commenting on Titleist for strong lofted clubs. Just saying. 😉
Mic drop
andrew jones ap1's have 2 gap wedges 47 and 51, how long until we see the first 40 degree wedge?
Rick have you compared the D300 irons to the D9 irons and if you have what would be the difference between the two golf clubs
For a game improvement club these have amazing spin numbers.
For GI irons the spin is pretty good, I would bag them
Hi Rick I got titleist irons yesterday, and I got a free tour system driver with them lol
Wilson are back in the game. Taken a while!
Love the review, I have just bought these irons! they look fantastic! Here in Quebec Canada we are in snow so I have some ways to go before trying them. I will be trying them inside though. Can't wait till spring!

Spin numbers are really good as well, awever stong loft. Seems a good High handicap\ novice irons for sure-
I am just asking if those d9 irons are anything like the d300 irons Rick
I only got these and im playing a bit better thanks for the video
I love wilson golf products, underrated to say the least.
Rick just wondering why don’t we use same sized shafts as the loft and same swing makes you hit the right distance you want🤷♂️ I have a Mizuno jpx set but I have 7 in the Wilson d300 and love getting it out if I’m mixed about distance between 6 and 7. I would like to know what is your opinion on the Di11 Wilson Staff irons.
5i is leaking right perhaps because the toe is down on all of them. That might affect strike, but it could obviously be fixed with a custom fit.
Toe down on all the hits but you are correct, the 5i had horrible dynamic lie.
find it difficult what to go for. Is there a rule of thumb. you have cxxx, dxxx, dx and then tour. what level golf player do they fit to?
Loved the golf wrx live blog 👍
Power holes better the glory holes 🕳 well depending on who it is I guess. Always been a Wilson fan since the first deep red series of irons and woods
I hope they send you the c 200 crossover irons .... have been intrested in those... same technology, less offset, and a slimmer head...
Great review!
One more thing Rick, remember when you said you were going to do a review on the M2 hybrid? Can you forward a link to that review. Thanks in advance.
Rick my name is George OK have you tried the D9 irons if you have would you tell me that if those d9 irons are good just like the d300 hundred irons
have a question for you.....i am 53 about an 15-20 handicap.....am trying to decide between wilson staff D200 or D300 irons.......am i gonna notice any real diffrence to make it worth the price ???? price of the D200 are 499 the D300 are 999
It's amazing and great to see how good those Wilson clubs (all ofg them so far) are.
Great Wilson reviews so far - keep it up, Rick :)
'Power grooves' perhaps Keep it up Rick good work bud
Rick I am looking to get back into and need a second hand set of clubs for around £25 a club my handicap was 20
"Power holes" (Spit take). Nice review Rick...
I wish I could find a fitter because I have fallen in love with the v6
Loved your live Golfwrx vlog Rick!! Thanks for the top tips!! Keep up the great work! 👍🏻⛳️🏌🏼

I recently purchased a new set of these from e-bay but the set came without the slots on top? Anyone know why?
Thanks Rick! I consider myself a good/not great player (5 handicap) and I know I could probably benefit from this club but I just can't get used to the size of the head. I have always preferred blades even though I am sometimes punished. Love your videos...big fan!
Grab a set of the Nike Vapor Speed irons. They are immensely forgiving but do not look it from address.
Power Holes!!!!! Is the Wilson designer Homer Simpson, Speed holes in a car
Great review, I think the V6 is a gamer, unfortunately the rest of the line seems off to my I.
Have you tested the Callaway "X" Series Irons? I just purchased them and want to get some input from you. Thanks in advance...
"lower price" I'm sold.
I noticed that every shot with every club was toe down which would account for the left/right dispersion. It's probably why you didn't like the feel. How long are the shafts compared to other irons?
I would like to see your review when you have correct shafts in those irons.
Good review Rick; I fully expected to see those sorts of numbers!
Will Rob get a shot of these?
Cheers
The Benross rip speed 10 irons, ( which you reviewed nearly 2 years ago) are more lofted than these irons, go further, & are a quarter of the price....
i got the D100s lovely clubs
I'm sorry to comment so late, but I was wanting to pick up a set of these D300's second hand. The problem is, all I can find are D300 SL's, which is a combo set with a hybrid 4 iron. Rick so what does the D9 irons so what dose the D mean one the D9 irons means
DO THE COBRA BAFFLER XL IRONS!!!!!
just wondering why your using the gc2 hmt and not the gc quad?
Loving your work by the way !!!!
Jonathan Cassidy I wondered the same, seeing the quad against the wall... Rick we want a review and stat comparison of affordable launch monitors... please $400- $2000
Jonathan Cassidy Rick commented on a previous video that he was having some software issues and couldn't get the GC Quad to work with the software he uses for the ball flight graphics.
mjgrasso76 excellent stuff👍. I was just curious as to why it was left to one side. thanks for that
Today's golfer
Rick have you used or seen the brand new D9 irons Rick or have you not seen them yet
I agree with Mike
loving the new nike gear
How about a review of the FG Tour F5 irons? Those are sweet!
Rick can you use any other golf ball Rick besides Titleist golf balls just like the prov1 Rick
I love these. So easy to connect with.
Look of those irons are very appealing! 😎
Any chances to see a review of C200?
The Wilson D range of irons are always monsters.. I think the C200 irons would perform closest to these and look less chunky, is there a C300 range in the wings?
I couldn't play with a club like that, far too chunky.look nasty behind the ball.
paulstanando1975 the C200? I don't think they are hideous. For what it's worth I have played with blades and honestly would put the new Callaway Steelhead in the bag as I think the topline isn't too bad
Rick, will they come out with a v6 non tour iron?
Rick have you ever try the D9 irons Rick and how did you like them
Would they be just like the d300 irons or not
I don't like big bulky irons either I find them hard to hit
So the 7 is a 6 relabeled. Clubs so you can brag to your buddies you hit a "7" 185 yards. There needs to be standards for club number and lofts, otherwise the club number means nothing.
guitarMonke Compared to my irons it's actually closer to my 5 than my 6, so it's even worse than that... 😊
@guitarMonke - I completely agree. A "strong loft" 7 iron is not a 7 iron at all, and should not be tested/compared as such.
I use MP33's, my PW is 48. My 7 iron is 36 deg.
What clubs do you recommend
Power holes, sound epic.... Right Rick?
How did they feel coming off the ball soft, hard, neutral
@Rick, Reviewing the C200 Irons also?
Have an awesome day everyone! John 3: 16 😁😎👍
Rick My name is George dose the golf clubs come in over sized club heads sir
It would be perfect if you could do review of the C200 irons which target mid-handicap golfers
Thank you for this review @rickshielsgolf
I currently have my old Callaway 2004 Big Bertha irons. I am wondering if I would see a big improvement with the Wilson D300. I currently have a 16 handicap and my general weakness is iron distance.
Rick do the have the D300 hundred irons yet out or not my name is George
Rick can to do a video of M2 iron vs d300 irons.
I can't believe you are so amazed that a 6 iron loft with a 7 stamped on the bottom carries like a 6 iron. It's just that simple, quit expressing disbelief.
Loves a humble brag does our Rick
I thought we'd get the other two iron reviews the F5 and C200
My name is George Rick is the D300 hundred irons are they heavy clubs
