Wow you totally made that bad boy shred and sing! Great looking guitar. Another huge win for Redid guitars. Great review.
Thanks man! I did my best! You weren't kidding, this company is great.
That really is a stunner. I miss my semihollow.. Perhaps it's time for another. Thanks for sharing, and as aways amazing playing!
Thanks dude! Appreciate that 🎸🤟
Just saw this on Amazon so I looked for a review of it, and holy💩! When you started shredding I wasn't expecting that style of playing and that tone from that guitar, and you're a extremely talented player, great review!
Thanks my friend! I appreciate the kind words! I figured I'd try to play something others don't usually play on it. It was a interesting experiment! Lol
Awesome original for sure! Beautiful guitar and brother you made shred!
Thanks Brian!! 💯💯
Great sound and awesome playing
Thanks my friend! I appreciate that
Thanks for sharing this. Really interested
Happy to help! Thanks for watching! 🎸👍
Nicely done! You've proven it can shred and do all other styles 🎸🔥
Thanks! 🎸
What a nice and inexpensive guitar. So great that it didn't need fret adjustments or anything. Your shredding was on point and inspirational. Thanks!
Thanks Bob!! Appreciate you!
Waiting on mine. Sea foam-ish green! Hoping it serves my recordings well. Thanks for your work on this!
Happy to help! Thanks for watching 🤟🎸 Let me know how it goes
Great review.
I have a Gretch and a Casino. Ordering one of these as a backup!!!
Thanks for content!
✌🏾
That's awesome! Gretch guitars are really amazing. My buddy had one I couldn't put down when I tried it lol. Also glad to help! Thanks for watching 🎸🤟
Just bought this for my first guitar. Damn your fingers move fast and smooth. Thanks for the great review
Haha thanks man! Also I'm happy to hear you are giving it a try! I hope it works out for you. Let me know how it goes!
Awesome job!
Thank you my friend! 🎸
It’s not about the tool, it’s about the craftsman. Tone is in the hand ;) Great review!
Thanks my friend! 👍🎸
The fact that you can make a freaking hollow body shred, proofs not only that you're an amazing guitarist, but also that it virtually doesn't matter what kind of guitar you got to make awesome music. You should show this to Glenn Fricker! 🔥🎸🤘 See you tomorrow maybe and greetings from Lotasticland
Thanks dude! I appreciate that! Haha maybe I will!
Was one day from purchasing a friends Ibanez as73 but I play jazz and sometimes metal out sometimes im freaking sold 😎💪🏽
Good playing in all those different genres!...
Thanks my friend!
Spot on video!!! Excellent semi hollow body guitar.
Thank you my friend!! 🎸🤟
@@LesterMitchell Absolutely! Your playing was awesome! The harmonics, phrasing, everything was fantastic! Hope you have a great weekend.
Very kind of you to say man! I do my best and try to improve as I go! Appreciate ya! Hope you have a good one as well! 🎸 🔥
great video ! it definetly can shred
i love it.
Thanks dude!
Thanks for proving that guitars are not intended for just 1 style you absolutely shred great video thank you
Thank you my friend! I'm glad you liked the video! 😎🎸👍
i love the sound of those pickups.
They definitely rock! I was surprised
Fantastic playing on any guitar. Your technique is superb and you never compromise musicality for showmanship.
Thank you my friend! 🎸🤟 I appreciate that.
@@LesterMitchell No, thank you. for sharing your gifts. You deserve recognition for your brilliance which moves from technical skill into pure artistry and lets just say, it takes one to know one.
You blew my mind!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha really?! Well thanks for watching 😎
Lovely hollow body, such an awesome guitar
Definitely! I really love the look of this 🎸
It's so cool 😎
I've had this guitar for about a year. It's difficult to find orange guitars, and mine is pretty orange (to match my Neon Orange Jackson bass), so there is that. But the guitar plays wonderfully, and has survived many a 'purging' (although at $159, what am I really going to get for it used?). I have a $75 Harley Benton Strat that is so bad, it sits on the wall as 'art' rather than being played. This Redid sits in a $200 case. While the pickups are fine as is, I'm planning on upgrading them to some Seth Lover PAFs. At that point, it will be my main guitar on Orange night ( when I play out, I have Orange, White, and Black nights; with my basses and guitars matching in color. Yes, I switch between key,s, guitar, and bass depending on the song. What can I say; I'm a child of the 80s).
In the end though ( since this comment had more meandering than Biden after a carb heavy meal), I love my Redid - which I affectionately call 'The 159'.
Great sounds you got coming outta this budget beauty, what did you plug her into (just curious)?
Thanks my friend! I ran it into my orange 35rt amp 🤟🎸
Amazing playing. Wonderful guitar for the price. No need to spend a lot of money. A good part of the sound is in the fingers!
Thanks my friend!!
Just bought one, have high hopes!
Happy to hear it! Let me know what you think when you have it!
@@LesterMitchell Great guitar for the price, was basically ready to play right out the box. The only thing i'm bummed a bit about is the lower back of the guitar has some scratches from shipping i believe, but other then that the guitar is well made.👍
I am watching your video because I got one from eBay I ordered an orange one..lol
But I got a massage saying that only had a black one left so I said black is cool..
Now I have that same kind of guitar..
Mine was like 158 dollars free shipping 😊😊😊
I like to play boogie woogie..😊😊😊
Hey man! That's awesome 😎 Black is a cool color for sure. Let me know how it goes when you get it!
Lester you are a friggin BEAST man!!!!
I know the bible says not covet....but you have MAD skills!
Haha thanks man! Appreciate you listening!
Ok man. Algorithms throwed you my way. First time seeing you. And you're the first person I've seen skillfully speaking of where I'm trying to get too. Loved your playing. Great review. I really really want a semi hollow anyway. Ted nugent proved you could blow the ceiling off with a semi or hollow if u wanted too.
Thanks dude! Appreciate you taking the time to comment and glad you dig the jams! I never knew that about Ted Nugent. Let me know how it goes when you get one 🤟🎸
@@LesterMitchell yeah man Ted played a hollow body Gibson Birdland. Fully hollow with a 23.5 scale length. Listen to some of Ted's tones especially in the 70's late 70's. It was insane.
What amp are you using or are you like going into a helix then a computer or full range power speaker?
I'm using my orange 35rt amp and sm57 mic 🎸
Hey, I just ordered the matte finish version. Looks great, but were your pickups rreeeaaallllyyyy microphonic? Mine scream really bad and pick up any tapping or sounds.
Hey dude! Didn't have that issue but I had an issue with the pickups being a bit weak with the distortion on. What are you running into?
How's the fretwork? the Action? seems like you like it and said it was ready to play. At this price point its kind of a concern I think.
It's surprisingly smooth. I wasn't expecting anything decent to be honest. So I was really stoked that I didn't have to do any work on it. The action was medium and the frets weren't sharp at all or raised.
@@LesterMitchell thanks for the reply I may have to order one to noodle.
All humbuckers look the same but they’re not. Did you say if they are anico2 or 5. 5 would be higher output but 2 would be clearer and more traditional. Ie Clayton’s lip was a alnico 2
Unfortunately I'm not sure about that. I couldn't find any information on the pickups in detail.
I got a semi-hollow one from Firefly, awesome quality, same price range. It looks impressive on the wall hanger, but does not get a lot of playing ... Maybe when I get very old and into jazz, I will change my mind, but for now it is just an awesome decoration on the wall :-)
... And I know that Dave Grohl from the Foofighters is sporting a semi, so no, it is not just for jazz
That's awesome dude! I've heard great things about firefly! Haha yes a very jazzy guitar but definitely works for any hard rock as well 😎👍🤟
Of course not just jazz.i told Lester Ted nugent played a hollow body Gibson Birdland his whole career. And the tone he got from guitar and peavey amps especially in the 70's was insane. I've never seen but a couple of semi hollow and hollow bodies in rock but Ted was a portion of distortion.
It appears they have the same one but the price increased can you confirm that too? Or do you think its another guitar
Hey there! I don't see any price increase but it does say out of stock temporary like you said 😢 sorry bro. Hopefully they get them back in soon!
What's that "hum" we hear in the background?...amp noise or a ground of some kind?...but other then that, I think that is ine of the better sounding budget guitars!...also some "hissing" noise in the clean tone demos!...maybe check the recording set-up, the volume chain so as not to get those background noises!...
Hey there my friend! I recorded this demo via a mic in front of the amp. There was no noise gate added.
160 dollars wow!
Les, you have shown that technique in the hands of a maestro can make any guitar sing irrespective of cost.
i feel the drum video insert is not in sync.
Thanks my friend! Appreciate the kind words 👍🎸 I don't think of myself as a maestro but I like to have fun haha. Also, I'll check into the drum video cheers 🎸
Right off the bat I am troubled by the string alignment. Freeze at the 1:40 mark. Notice how close the high E string is to the edge of the fingerboard and then compare that to the distance from the edge of the fingerboard for the low E string. Way off.
The bridge was not put on properly and cannot be " moved " over to compensate. You run the risk of the high E string being pulled off the edge unless you are very careful. Deal breaker for me.
Hey man! Thanks for the input. Didn't really notice any playing issues when I had it. My student has it now and is doing great with it until they upgrade 👍🎸
Are you playing without a pick?
I use a pick but also do hybrid picking in some phrases
Dumb question can this guitar shred? Lol. A good guitar player shreds on a Acoustic guitar. To me shredding means very good persist quick and slow playing tastefully done and your shredding those strangs! Lol. Some people think there shredding playing with alot of distortion and think boy I'm shredding and sound great! Lol. You played great and very tastefully. You were shredding the guitar was not but it sure did sound good plucking them Strangs.. I'm looking to have one myself and add to my tiny guitar collection. I'm 45 and a Beginner on a budget. I have a IYV Emerald green LP-300s and a Squire bullet limited edition Red Sparkle telecaster. I love the 335 style and sound guitars as I'm a bluesy guy. I'm looking at the red Best choice guitar same as yours also the Red Grote and orange Redid 335 style as there all about the same price could you recommend one or the other of those? Dont know if you have the others mentioned. Thanks so much! You Rock /Shred buddy!
Hey dude thanks for watching! Ahah yes I try to play more melodically if I can. I get carried away sometimes though.
If you're looking for a good overall guitar this one rocks for sure. If you're looking for a more shred style guitar I wouldn't go this route. Having said that, I was really surprised by the sound I got out of this thing. I really dig it! Hope that helps and rock on
Broo they are are temporarily out of stock no WAYYYYY 😭
Did someone like overinflate his face?
Yes just for you 😎
@@LesterMitchell your face is beautiful bro 😎
I've been looking at getting either the RD100 or the RZT22 guitar, but I wanted to know if this guitar is lightweight or not? my current guitar weighs a lot and it's hard for me to even carry or pick up, so I'm trying to find a lightwieght one that sounds good.
Also, is it good for clean floaty sounds (I don't know if I'm describing it right)?
Hey there! The guitar has a little weight to it. I wouldn't say it's heavy but in-between.
Guitars like this are great for that clean/bright tone. Jazz,. country, rock etc. If you're looking for something that would work for an ambient/fx set up I'd look into something else honestly.
@@LesterMitchell Thank you very much for letting me know!
I'm not really looking for a ambient fx tone, more like a clear floaty indie rock tone like bye bye badman and suneohair.
What guitars would you recommend that are lighter weight wise compared to the RD100?
@@Modakune Yeah no problem! Ah I see. You can find a lot of decent models these days under $300 for that sort of sound. I'd say a super strat style guitar would be one pick. I did a fesley review last year that has some great clean tones. Was under $199 also. But in general finding something with both humbuckers and a single cool would be ideal
@@LesterMitchell Cool, I checked out your fesley review, and it sounded pretty good, and I liked that it had a whammy bar and 3 pickup spots! Is the fesley lightweight too?
@@Modakune Glad you dig it man! Yeah it's really light weight actually. I ended up giving it to a student awhile back and they love it
