If you want rock hard nails after you paint them, then let dry for about 20 minutes. Get a small bowl and put some olive oil, or canola oil in it, and soak each nail for about 3 seconds each. Then rinse with cold water, and soap!! This leaves your nails rock solid!!! I use this trick every time i paint my nails!! It really works!!!
Megan Wendel Im not really sure. Personally, i dont think that affects how long it lasts. But im sure it depends on the nail polish you use, and all of that stuff.
It was so late last night that I forgot to add... for tip 13 with liquid latex, if you are allergic to latex based products try vaseline or elmer's glue instead :)
1. If you painted your cuticle area just a little bit, then use a toothpick to lightly scratch it off and then use the brush and eyeliner method. 2. Use cooking spray on your nails to dry faster and prevent further smudging. Rinse afterwards 3. Use a peel off basecoat under glitter (I personally recommend UNT peel off basecoat) 3.1. To take the peel off basecoat, apply some cuticle oil and take it off with orange stick 4. Apply the tiniest bit of cuticle oil onto your cuticles after mani before taking pictures 5. Cut a brush from a nail polish bottle to use it as a striper 6. Use a bobby pin as a dotting tool 7. After using a brush with acetone, massage it with a little bit of water and soak it up with just a little bit of oil for a smoother effect (Hope this helps)
I'm not sure if this is considered a hack or not, but I buy small bottles with different shapes of glitter from the craft store when they are on clearance. I have hearts, stars, clovers & snowflakes. They are small enough to add a few on top of your polish when it's still wet and then seal in with top coat 😊
For the DIY sponge remover project, add more remover when necessary and once your sponge gets too funky, change it out with a new one :) Remember that smaller jars will use less remover, so use an empty baby food jar if you can't find a jar that's small enough :D
My favourite nail art tip is when my wet nail polish smudges, i hold it against a mug with boiling water in it. It kind of "melts" the nail polish so you can smooth it back into place. Then i add a topcoat and you can't really tell it ever smudged. I discovered this myself. Love your channel. :D
Janelle, this is positively THE BEST TIPS VIDEO EVER!!! Normally they're really difficult designs or something I've seen. These were all new and easy. You're a genius!!!!
Wow, love these tips! I actually learned some new things from this video unlike other videos where it turns out to be just common sense! 😜 Thanks Janelle! 💕
I consider myself an at home nail pro (love my polishes! ) and this taught me a lot! Thanks Janelle Estep you have the best tutorials for pros or at home ppl like me!
For french manis, you could use band-aids for a french mani sticker. You could use those circular sticker things too. For dotting tools: q-tips, toothpicks, old pens, paper clips(you have to unravel it). Striping tools: tape and old eye liner brush.
The fish thing that was in the water was sooooo cute! Cuteness overload!!!😊🐠

The teabag hack is INCREDIBLE. Even though when I tried it out for the first time i used nail glue to stick the teabag piece too, not a base coat, then smoothed it with a buffing file. Worked so well, it was even resistant to nail polish remover!! Also, I used square nails for a long time and they always broke, but for the last 30 days or more I've been filing my nails almond-shaped. They never broke again.
I just tossed a bunch of those eyeshadow sponges in the trash the other day I wish I would have seen this sooner that's such a great idea to use those to sponge on nail polish. These are great ideas especially the sponge jar ☺👍
But i dont think its gonna work for me D; I broke my nail yesterday hitting it on my couch and you could hear the snap. It bled slightly and then nothing really happened.. I have acrylics so im gonna have to take the one off D; Just waiting for a month for my nail to grow back 😒
What can I say this video is so amazing, I'm definitely going to use about all of these nail hack! ❤️❤️ my favorite was the felt and the glitter nail polish 😊
These were awesome! Can't wait to try the tea bag hack, my same nail is always cracking. I knew about none of these, except I had heard something about drying nails with water prior to this video.
I use the teabag repair but I also support it with a product from the UK from Leighton Denny. It's called Top That! and it's a top coat that you cure under a UV lamp and it turns normal polish into gel polish. I do the repair, do a layer of Top That! and cure it, (gives it a lovely smooth surface) and then I do my nails. So when I change my polish, my teabag repair stays intact! Keep them coming Janelle - love your videos!!
I will totally use the glitter on the sponge hack. Whenever I apply glitter nail polish (especially the chunky kind) it gets pretty messy. Love you and your videos! :)
I know this is totally random and has nothing to do with nail art, but your makeup is so so pretty, so I was just wondering if you could do a makeup routine?
Oh my Goddd, I never thought to use tape to take off that metallic dust! I hate that stuff it gets everywhere!!!!!! I've never seen that tip either so THANK YOU
Love this video, Janelle :) Learned so many new nail art tricks, thank you

Good tip!!
Using that method, about how long do the manicures last?
Jane K. Probably also helps moisturize the cuticle :D

Can I thumbs up this more than once?! This is AWESOME!! Thank you for testing these!!
