Okay, okay, okay, but like they're actually onto something with the whole "why would they get in the ring? What if they need it for their magic?" Like, the ring is the spell circle guys, they need to be in the ring to fuel their magic incantations!
Y'know, as an aside, I think the brothers have a pretty damn good idea here with this idea of an indie wrestling league where everyone has powers, and they're done with like... both practical and, if possible, digital special effects? Like a combination? People with fire powers, ice powers, etc.
Oh, as soon as they started talking about it, I started thinking about it. I would love to see something like WWE, but it's more like Dragon Ball Z and they use special and practical effects to like, shoot magic spells or balls of energy, maybe fly around the stage, hit each other with chairs, whatever. Maybe just like a wide, oddball cast of wrestlers, each of them with a theme and signature special ability that is insanely over the top. Let's get something like "Mutant League Wrestling" going.
Why not all wizards? Pros: no need to change the name. WWE World Wizarding Entertainment, balanced fights since everyone is a wizard, more cool magic spells, lots of different types of wizards. Cons: None.
3:39 "killed him and buried his dead ass six feet under the loam. dust to dust baby this dude's dead as disco and then he's back the next week so why not wizards i guess?" goes insanely hard
From everything I've heard about Vince "Human Garbage" McMahon, if you can convince him there's literally 3 dollar's worth of profit in there being Wizard wrestlers, he would Hogwarts half the roster.
Yeah, totally been done. Wrestling is pretty much like rule 34. Kevin Nash played Oz, PLUS he had Kevin Sullivan with him as a bonus wizard sidekick. Sullivan also had a monkey sidekick of his own. If you aren't familiar with this brief era, it really is amazing. Plus there was a dude named Phantasmo or something who was definitely a magician, which is kinda like wizard. And yes, like many other commenters mentioned, Undertaker and his bro Kane for sure had some necromantic moments. There were also a few vampires for a little while I think, and at least one Giant, Giant Gonzalez, and Yetayyy, which is at least supernatural.
wasn't there a guy who had like voodoo powers named Papa Shango too? definitely on the wizardly spectrum. I remember he'd come out rattling a bunch of bones and freaking people out. also, necromantic moments is an amazing phrase lmao
@@waterdaughter good one, Papa Shango put a curse on the ultimate warrior that made him cough up black goo. Wrestling has jumped the shark so many times, it's commonplace
Oh my GOD, I've known of this man since I was a literal child and I JUST NOW realized -- from reading a years-old RUclips comment!! -- that his name is a pun.
@@Blattella Forgot that. Even so, knowing two spells does not make you a wizard. He could be an eldritch knight fighter, or maybe he can just use spell scrolls (idk if non wizards can use scrolls).

Undertaker is definitely a Necromancer.
But Muscle Wizard is a thing on the internet.
he can shoot lightning, has a silly hat and a beard. thats a wizard baby.

You're making Mortal Kombat again, and I'm here for it.

@@elliswebster7041 there are like live tokosatsu, super sentai etc events in japan right?? im not just imagining it?
Y'all have reverse-engineered WMAC Masters
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/WMAC_Masters
I like how they blatantly went full circle on this one.
Undertaker was a Necromancer, Kane was a Warlock that murdered his patron, Gangrel was a GODDAMN VAMPIRE SPELLCASTER
somebody who understands wrestling better than me needs to make a wizard wrestling ttrpg
Or at least a dnd setting based on this concept
WWF: World Wrestling Fantasy

You've heard of fantasy football, get ready for fantasy wrestling.
I don't think fantasy football is what u think it is but _god_ do I wish it were
John Cena has a sort of magic charisma about him does that count
No that’s Sorcerer... or Bard... could be both

You know The Adventure Zone?
So many of the best MBMBaM bits feel like that and I adore them for that reason.
pretty sure there’s a mountain goats album about this wizard wrestler
Kevin Nash played Oz for like a week, he was kinda wizardly.
I wish so badly I could’ve been a part of this convo to say this same thing
I was about to write this when I saw your comment
I like how since this came out, Chris Jericho's whole thing has become that he is, in fact, a wizard.
I came here to say this
Swamp magic and the boneyard match hahaha this is fantastic. And I’m tempted to get in on the thunderdome and making a why not a wizard sign haha
Rage fueled magic you say?? *fitzroy intensifies*
That part when griffin says to give Roman Reigns telekinesis killed me
Y'all, listen to the D&D show Droam & Defiance Wrestling. There's a buff wizard wrestler in it, as well as a druid wrestler
That one has some of the Dark and Dicey people in it right?

“Wouldn’t introducing magic break immersion?”
Vince McMahon once had a match against God. The Biblical God.
They're basically describing Lucha Underground

There have absolutely been Japanese pro wrestlers who could use telekinesis.
