It’s so funny because they make two jokes in here about stuff that I’ve seen happen. I’ve had performers say before the show “if someone is fucking punching you and being a dick, say something to everyone and kick that guy out” (Jeff Rosenstock). Conversely many performers I’ve seen have said “OPEN THE FUCKING PIT” (jpegmafia)

I genuinely believe a cooler filled with root beer with the sign "Free" on the side of the road will be emptied slower than a cooler with a sign that says "cold root beer 25¢" bc the system we are born into has pickled us

(Linguistics infodump incoming) I love the beginning of this video where Griffin and Travis can’t figure out if Justin is saying “Pizza Inn” or “Pizza N” because it’s a fantastic example of one of my favorite linguistic phenomena in American English called the “pin-pen merger”. Basically, certain varieties of American English (especially those spoken south of the Mason-Dixon Line) have this thing where the “short i” sound and the “short e” sound are pronounced the same before the nasal consonants m and n. It’s called a merger because all other instances of these vowels are pronounced correctly in their given contexts, but before the nasals, something happened where it made more phonetic sense to merge the pronunciations. All three of the boys have the merger because of their WV roots, and if you think “pin” and “pen” are homophones, you might too! Thank you for coming to my TED Talk😂
