I have personally never seen a rock or metal show at which a mosh pit was appropriate where the lead performers did not look completely delighted when one opened up and/or did not take an active role in creating or directing the activities of a pit. Thats basically part of the job description for a metal frontman
It’s so funny because they make two jokes in here about stuff that I’ve seen happen. I’ve had performers say before the show “if someone is fucking punching you and being a dick, say something to everyone and kick that guy out” (Jeff Rosenstock). Conversely many performers I’ve seen have said “OPEN THE FUCKING PIT” (jpegmafia)
"how to mosh" is really dependent upon what sort of musical performance you are attending. Acceptable moshing at a Hatebreed show is wildly different from acceptable moshing at Pearl Jam, for instance.
Mosh pits are one of those things i cant approve of at all but find socially unacceptable to strongly criticize, like religion or the raimi trilogy Edit: i said this in part to be silly but better examples might be boxing or american football
Mosh pit dress code exactly matches guidelines for operating heavy machinery
8:28 the people at the edge of the mosh pit are the backbone of society. Saved my ass so many times as a kid
I pray any of the slipknot members hear this and get a good chuckle out of it
ive never been more proud of Travis than when he DIDNT say “hoobastank”
🎶They did the Mosh! They did the Monster Mosh!🎶
Thank you for adding in the picture, it was beautiful.
This was a very helpful WOTC

They kid about the holding hands circle but I was at a show where Jimmy Urine called for a Wall of Hugs and it was very on brand.
My Brother, My Brother and MOSH: Rockin' with the McElroys
6:45 I think every Staind song was slow?
I'm sorry but in this bit Travis said "share the load" and then a second later Griffin says "Yeah that's gonna snowball" and I lost my minx

I tried and failed to mosh once, one of the most embarrassing moments in my life

You will know when to mosh at a Throwdown show, for example, when the singer literally shouts "fuck that shit, open this pit up!"
