    Lyrics:
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the sea
Westward from the Davis Strait 'tis there 'twas said to lie
The sea route to the Orient for which so many died
Seeking gold and glory, leaving weathered, broken bones
And a long-forgotten lonely cairn of stones
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the sea
Three centuries thereafter, I take passage overland
In the footsteps of brave Kelsey, where his Sea of Flowers began
Watching cities rise before me, then behind me sink again
This tardiest explorer, driving hard across the plain
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the sea
And through the night, behind the wheel, the mileage clicking west
I think upon Mackenzie, David Thompson and the rest
Who cracked the mountain ramparts and did show a path for me
To race the roaring Fraser to the sea
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the sea
How then am I so different from the first men through this way?
Like them, I left a settled life, I threw it all away
To seek a Northwest Passage at the call of many men
To find there but the road back home again
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea
Tracing one warm line through a land so wild and savage
And make a Northwest Passage to the sea

when i listened to the song... i was instantly reminded of the time when i was sailing withc my class back in school throught the Baltic Sea of germany around the islands of denmark. the sprinkle of seawater in the face, the sun above and the wind throught my hair... how i yearn for those times again...

Those harmonies nearly brought me to tears. So moving from beginning to end.

It brought me to my knees, literally, as I do a dumb , stupid choreography fot each song , even if someome finally kicks my back in. They tried, but I spinned.

Their harmony in this song seems different--tighter? Marvelous! I love listening to this just to hear the perfectly merging voices. Even if I didn't already speak English, I would love it. I just had to look into the composer, Stan Rogers, who wrote it to be performed _a capella._ That gave me much greater appreciation for the lyrics and made the whole song come together with the Wellermen's performance. If I could improve this, I'd have made a video with live action to complement the lyrics. Oh well...

1: 30 - Why am I so bad with faces and especially names ? Ugh.
I just try to get "an ear" for each of you , main voice, a terz, quart , octave above or belo and then it mixes so well !
I guess I have to dive into subharmonics.
Bye for a year. If I don't give a thumbs up for more than 3 weeks , I lost my appartement and live in my non existant car. Went down the rabbithole too far .
(Of course this was never a problem before. )
    ( Sigh) 💞🎵🎼🔊🎶
