Holy crap, I’ve Never been as close to tears as this one brought me as he read the journal. My God humans are capable of such horrible things, but that uncle was barely, if at all, human. That poor kid, I feel the brothers did the right thing. Tommy was no more, he’d become something less than human. Whether by self infliction, or his uncles abuse, most likely the combination. He had become an unknown thing, his journal basically proved it. So, good Dr., another Amazing story, shout out to the author! And it was lucky enough to be told by the most gifted narrator of our World Wide Web! Dr. Creepen. Always grateful Doc, keep em coming! ☠️

I've just finished this one , it was good bit more gory than the normal which is good for a change. But I too just listened to this while painting ... What do you paint ??? For me it was my current project of Warhammer some dwarfs for a big build I have been working on.
Hats off to you. I'm a lover of these thriller mystery stories. I listen to you ALL DAY at work. I stop my job for a good story and hit the like or comment just bc. Your voice it's usually brings me warmth when I think of it. And this one tipped me I guess. I am now praying for the vision of that Tommy Gollum "Tollum" (if you will) with your voice behind my ears.
My only question is.. Why was Tommy living with his uncle?.. The parents were alive and seemingly “cared” so much. But yet, did not have custody?.. Did they never see him? See the bruises, see the missing/broken teeth. He was abused and they never suspected anything? I know it’s just fiction but that part gets to me.

But that is also what it can be like in the real woods.Illegal hunters and fishermen and would be thieves sometimes think my very capable dog and I do not know they are among the trees, but the birds and animals react, and we know. The only time the woods go completely silent is if some idiot has awakened the old moose. I go out on my deck and yell proper instructions according to the season and how close the moose is to the idiot. But since said moose could very well knock my cottage right into the lake if it wished, those directions Never include an invitation toward us. It is a very nice thing to have a moose who enjoys a nice cool cedar fence corner for naps. You would be surprised at how much of your forest allegories ring true. The cliche drip! This is just great writing, notice the progression by which the narrator begrudgingly makes reference to the isolation and uncertainties of rural poverty, not all at once and not overmuch in detail. Perfect.
5 am I got 2 hours left till work is over. Im going to wait till I can have a pipe smoke and my favorite drink.. and unwind with the Doctor... I appreciate your stories brother. you make my days so much better.
