I saw this right after it came out back in the 50s. My father was a union organizer so it had special significance for me. Another miners union organizing film that I'd like to see paired with this one is Matewan.
I think you have your descriptions the wrong way 'round. This one says "Colourised version" & it's the original. Which I'm about to watch, just as it was released. Thank you for posting the original. I'm a purist at heart & I appreciate being given the choice. I was raised with music in the house like The Ballad of Springhill by Ewan McColl & Peggy Seeger about the Cumberland Mine disaster in Springhill, Nova Scotia. I learned at an early age that when there's an accident underground, what trickles out from under those rocks, in Wales, the Deep South, China, S. America or anywhere else, is always red!
Pellicola molto bella ispirata alla vera storia dello Sciopero dell' Impero Zinc noto anche come Sciopero del Sale della Terra, nulla di eccezionale ma comunque guardabile, quindi molto bella e molto bella per me come valutazione è 7,5.
Peculiar to me on how most of these comments I don't hear anything about the present-day and the shunning of the Mexican people. I don't think it's right the comments on other sites concerning what's going on at the border I think people are hateful today as they were back then if not worse. The whole bottom line is this is Anna beat around the bush thing I believe this is the big reason why this person show this film and he wants to see what comments come out on this, seeing if people can figure this out. Well I did. And let's get one thing straight to those that are avoiding the issue of today, the Mexican people at that border are human and not everybody is a thug just because they are brown and dark hair. And for those that are scared to mention anything, because you're afraid someone won't like you, who cares if they do or don't who cares if you lose a friend or not, because it's their racist they weren't a friend to you from the beginning they're just lying .( And before I get a nasty comment from someone oh, this isn't hate it's truth) I tried blending with certain people in my area especially, but you can't in America in many ways because people have too many prejudices. It's awful God is definitely going to deal with America over this matter
The only film to be blacklisted which was also the subject to a Jeff Goldblum TV movie. No offense, but I think it's a quaint docudrama by today's standards.
Why does the description call this a pro-communist film. Is it only because the creators were accused of being such back then? I don't see how wanting fair treatment for workers is communist, even though I totally understand corruption in unions, I was a steelworker all my life, so I know. It's a gray area here .
Hey Helen how are you doing? I'm doing fine. Got our second song produced. A song title if that's the name of the song It's a romantic song about lovers tall palm trees sandy beaches eternity God it turned out extremely well and I did so well on the singing that we're not really having a band anymore I'm just going to be a solo artist now.. yeah I have my accordion on it my friend Tom put his guitar on it rhythm our producer put a really fantastic beautiful lead guitar riffs all the way through the song he put nice bass guitar on it really nice drums the whole song is very mellow and beautiful gorgeous when you listen to it you can hear the singing and the instruments and feel it feel them swaying like palm trees in the wind. Yeah we're really excited about this song our friend Gene told me that he really loved it he said I have never heard anything like this song in my entire life on the radio or Internet. Yeah our music is definitely different every song we seem to be doing has this out of this world sound to it otherworldly heavenly sound the next song we're doing is called It's A beautiful Day we're going to start that in about 3 weeks with Mark another producer the one who did if I practiced if for quite a while and I developed this Frank Sinatra kind of style but different there's originality in my singing too the way I do it my own way in style style if is a combination of the Beach boys Jimmy Buffett and Frank Sinatra some Perry Como in it. We're going to tune core a different distribution place is the best one in the world the top one. So I hope you're doing okay enjoy the movie
When the working peple don't accept the salaries or the workings condition you are communist a red and I'm not talking about USA I'm talking México in the 50s 60s 70s 80s
1:19:20 If I was movie director all my films would have a scene like this. The wife standing up to her husband. The gay son standing up to his father. The trans standing to the Republican elected official. Along with with whatever combination you could think of for this scene.
WOW, I saw this at a Pete Seger concert in Detroit when I was a little kid about 8. Very well done.

The more things change the more they stay the same
.....That's what the '''HOPE''' slogan is meant to provacate.
some things can't be changed they are whT they are if they are perfect no room for change if things are accepted to be that way they won't cage ....

I’m here because Noam Chomsky recommended this movie.

🙋🏻♂️ hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
According to Chomsky this film was banned in freedom of speech loving America!

Calling fair treatment 'communism' was always a great way to make it disappear. Presumably labeled that by opponents of the film?
I don't know what's more corrupt. The Business People or the corrupt cops.
I haven't seen this one in awhile

How 'Politically Correct' in these times, with the US becoming part of Meheco.
