I have a rare syndrom called ODDD (me and my mam are the only ones in britain to have it so far) which stands for Oclo, Digital , Dental and Displacia syndrom meaning it affects my hearing as i am deaf in one ear with perferations in both, joints as my fingers are deformed aka not straight and eye sight as i have stigma as well. ever since i was born, 3 months old i think well thats what mam told me, i had 4 operations each year (2 on my hands since they couldn't do both at the same time and 2 on my ears) so i missed alot of school work and couldn't make as many friends sadly. The operations still go till I'm 18 which hopefully is the last one.

Always share what’s going to happen to your kids. It’s their bodies and they have a right to know what that doctor’s gonna do. My mom held me down for my five year old shots instead of explaining what was going to happen and I spent the rest of my childhood absolutely terrified of doctors. They can be scared and scream and cry but they still have a right to know what you’re going to do.

I agree. I would re-homed the dog instead of just straight up putting it down after 1 bite, tho I don’t know if the dog has always been aggressive they should have trained it or even been watching them because dogs don’t just bite randomly. They can bite from fear, frustration, or bad training so it’s sad nothing better could have been done for the dog and it had to lose its life. Glad the kid is ok but wish it was handled better.

Exactly, the dog didn’t have to die due to a kid’s mistake. And putting it down is too much. They couldn’t just trained it and like you said kept it away from him.

One would think that the time spent trying to convince the child to let them remove the stitches, would have been better spent waiting for a numbing cream to take effect. Application once they arrive for the appointment, numbish skin when they remove the first one and the child should be calmer. All stitch removal isn’t painless. Just my opinion.

The dog who got put down - it doesn't feel fair. Putting a dog down after it bit someone is a band-aid solution, it shouldn't have to end like that if
    A) Kids are taught how to respect dogs early on
    B) The parents shouldn't kick themselves and blame themselves entirely

I was born with a cleft lip and pallet. Back in the 60's my plastic surgeon actually sanded my scar down with sandpaper like material!! Everytime the scab would heal, the scar would be less noticeable! There weren't any lasers back then! I had tubes in my ears, speech therapy, tons of dental and orthodontist work. It was all worth it !!
