      @Fish-Story in your opinion what is more agressive/alpha of a tank.. a full grown Dovii or Large mouth bass?

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  16 дней назад +1

      @@andyc903 LMB don't seem territorial or hierarchical with fish other than their kin. Dovii is very territorial, I'd expect dovii to dominate LMB in a large tank, like at least a few 1000 gallons.

    What a relief😅. I ought to show my friends this at some point, not just the dourada but the annoying blister specifically is going to be featured in the Fish Story introductory presentation and this is a nice happy ending:)

    The Dorado looks like it has a shark like skin rather than scales like a normal fish....almost like that sandpaper type scale that a shark has....cool fish and that current change definitely worked.

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  17 дней назад +3

      Thank you. Like all catfish, Dorado doesn't have any scales. It is a special trait of all catfish. Yes, dorado skin has small bumps on it.

    so sad, mine are dead 2 days ago. My pond had a leak, and I moved it temporarily to a smaller pond, along with the other fish. I think mine was stressed while in a temporary place because it was bullied by the arowana. it's a shame I've kept it for 4 years 😥

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  17 дней назад

      I feel your pain. 4 years is a great accomplishment in my book when it comes to the very hard to keep dorado. They do most horribly with rehomings. Such an easily stressed and skittish fish!
      What was its length at the time of death?

    • @geryadams9694
      @geryadams9694 17 дней назад +1

      @@Fish-Story Since I moved her, her character and appetite are actually quite good, but because the pool is covered by net, I can't confirm what happened to her, my assumption is because she was bullied by the arowana, because some of her fins were injured.
      The length is about 1 foot. When my pool has been repaired, I plan to keep it again, it is difficult to get a large size here. I have to start over from the beginning

    Do they all swim sort of labored like Dora? Not meaning anything bad just seeks like its a little uncomfortable swimming.

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  17 дней назад

      Good eye. IDK if they all swim like this. I need to see other dorado cats of comparable size. Yes, Dora wobbles a bit. Perhaps this is a norm, or perhaps the deformed snout affected its hydrodynamics, or perhaps at low speed they all wobble?

    Can't she go to a big or the biggest tank?

    • @Fish-Story
      @Fish-Story  17 дней назад +1

      Unless those tanks were empty, this'd be a swift death sentence. Dorado cats are most horrible with rehomings, easily stressed out of their wits and highly skittish.
