Great job as always. Your focus in the “raining fuel” was perfect. Only through your persistence and angle adjustments were we able to truly see the impact of the situation.
John, “Merry Christmas!” May this sacred holiday be the catalyst for wonderful memories and boundless joy that sustain you through the upcoming year and your entire life. Greetings from Boston, MA. Phil G.
Never a dull moment up there. This is one a lot of your viewers will probably never see. Hope you had a good supper and have a Merry Christmas. Great video
Great video, as always. A very Merry Christmas to all and a wonderful New Year. Greetings from Los Angeles, California, where it was nice, warm and 70°F.
Thank you for your work to show as much as possible. Could really see the leak in one angle. A lot of fuel draining out from like 3 places. Love the socks you zoomed in on. Merry Christmas to you and all FDNY! 🚒🇺🇸
Merry Christmas, JJ! Thanks for a great year of covering the NY scene! I say it often, but we need a guy like you downtown Chicago! No eatin off the RAC tomorrow..lol….bake a nice lasagna and enjoy! ✌🏻 Brian
Hi JJ, The elevator on the outside is called a hoist. Elevators inside the building is not built yet. There are more floors to be built. It's probably a 100 gal tank. Red dye diesel. Get out the umbrellas.
What do you suppose would cause a leak like that? Side note, I had a World Civ teacher in high school named Mr. Genovese, lol. He let us call him Mr. G. Mr.G's are cool guys-as you well know, lol.
The crane company got an early Christmas gift because the FDNY did the cleanup and they didn't have to call a private hazmat response company. Those services don't come cheap.
Thanks for going out on Christmas eve. Stay safe. Can't imagine the cleanup of all the area surrounding areas covered with diesel that will need to be cleaned up. I don't think it will evaporate. Someone has much work ahead of themselves and costly
I hate the smell of diesel so very very very much. I got covered in a fine mist of diesel many years ago at a shout to a breakers yard in Bromley 🤮. My bunker gear, my helmet had that f****** smell etched into them no matter what I did. It took so long to get new kit issued. Mineral spirit can't be used which is how you would normally break down diesel because it can damage the steam layer in the tunic. Honestly every time somebody mentions a diesel spill I can taste it! I can smell it! again like I'm right there 😆😆😆 Great vid. 🙂 🚒💨
The Fire Departments practice for lots of issues and most are on a PRESUMPTION...WHAT IF ?... but now to have fuel falling from the sky , well that is one they will have to put to the books and pass this event to other training sessions . Saying one of the trucks dieded...be funny if it ran out of fuel ! J.J. you are always on the job , Enjoy family time and keep your ears tuned for events ! God Bless
John, Merry Christmas to you on this Christmas Eve. Over many Years now I have always enjoyed your work and hope you will continue as long as you want. Always capturing the scene action as a professional videotographer. Godspeed my friend.
Good video as always, always think it's cool they don't care you have a radio. Around my area, the Firefighters would be more concerned about you having a scanner or radio and not worried about the incident
Hey JJ you never disappoint with your videos always looking forward to watching but gotta say that is no small hole leaking fuel what ever it is it's big . Stay safe and merry Christmas and keep the videos coming .
I bet that the junior man on HazMat had to climb that tower to stop the flow. Seniority has its good parts. Junior man was the one to try and put the sprinkler stopper plug in. It’s call paying your dues
First of all, as a Turkish citizen, I wish you a happy new year, I wish you a year without fires, accidents and natural disasters. I would like to ask something. Do the New York police have relations with the German police? Or does the New York Fire Department have any relations with the German Fire Department? I salute you with my respects, may God protect you.
Merry Christmas my Brother...I might have sent a couple of hazmat techs up to see if we could stop the leak..did they try that...just asking...plz be careful..much respect
thought that these tower Cranes run on electricity, but guessing not all of them do, right???? So what part of the crane was that fuel actuall coming out from, the rear of it????
I always wanted to ask you is Skyler fire an actual FDNY member or is he a fire buff like you he shoots awesome videos as well as you did. I’m subscribed his channel as well. I’d give shout out and merry Christmas and a happy healthy new year. Be safe, my brother.

A blessed and Merry Christmas John! Great video! Thank you!
Usually, tower cranes aren't diesel powered. Are we sure it isn't hydraulic fluid?
I bet that the junior man on HazMat had to climb that tower to stop the flow. Seniority has its good parts. Junior man was the one to try and put the sprinkler stopper plug in. It’s call paying your dues
Merry Christmas! Please take of some time to enjoy Christmas.
