I agree with your rewrite of 'As Good As Gordon'. That would fit well for Emily's S7 character about asking for help, and the Stirling Singles are prone to wheelslip due to their large driving wheels (something the show crew and later ones seem to forget and stated that she goes faster when she's not!).
Hey I remember this series... I feel like I probably owned this DVD a million years ago, but it would've been around the time where the series was losing me to other entertainment sources. Granted, I grew to appreciate Season 8 a bit more when I did that last marathon, but 6 episodes just isn't enough to win me over at this point. Even something like Story and Song Collection has more on offer, even with one less episode. Also, a mundane HiT DVD or a fun release Happy Holidays? So many choices. I might need time to think about that one 🤣
“Percy’s definitely a bit TOO paranoid and like - running away? Seriously?” Can you really blame him though? This guy overhears Sir Topham Hatt literally say “Percy hasn’t been doing his job well lately - he must go to the scrapyard tomorrow” Like the way he words it, who WOULDN’T think that means death tomorrow?
It’s good to have you back! I don’t blame you for not liking or recommending this DVD, even though I have nostalgic memories with it’s US counterpart “Track Stars”, it’s not great. I think the best HiT era DVD we got was Peep Peep Hurray Three Cheers for Thomas or here in the US “Thomas’ Sodor Celebration”. S8 was definitely interesting, it’s probably the only good HiT model season. Reason I say that is because it’ll only get worse from here. S9, oh boy, I wish you luck.
well actually it ended with Thomas’ Frosty Friend, but you do have a point, when it first aired, the airing this aired made this the last episode on the release
This DVD was released in America, but the title in the US is Track Stars. The title Tales from the Tracks would be used in America however, but the US Tales from the Tracks is what the UK refers to as Little Engines, BIG Days Out
This is basically our Uk version of Track Stars in The U.S., as all the episodes, learning segments, and songs on this release are the exact same as Track Stars.
1:32 Thomas Gets it Right; It still kinda makes Thomas Cheeky. 3:17 Learning Segment #1; I mean that’s clearly James! 3:20 Hey they are better here then in I’m Calling all Engines! 3:23 Emily’s New Route; An Extreme Adventure with Emily. 4:16 Song: Emily; 4:17 Yea that sucks too when it happens. Also it’s a soft and nice song. 4:56 Percy’s Big Mistake; 5:20 favorite part of the episode! 6:42 Learning Segment #2; 6:53 what if a Learning Segment had that. 6:59 As Good as Gordon; More like As Good as Emily or Being like Gordon. 7:22 and she was her Season 7 version. 8:05 James Gets a New Coat; 8:278:39 War on the Railway about 🧥 9:13 Learning Segment #3; Dumb Thomas vs Dumb Percy 9:35 Thomas, Emily and The Snowplough; Thomas x Snowplough is such an Awful ship. 10:47 Verdict; why one more song like Sounds or Suprises, also is Little Engines BIG Days Out hot awful? And I bet Happy Holidays is really good.
I actually had the US release of this DVD at some point (was called Track Stars). Though I don't have it anymore, I do remember one of its learning segments literally making me fall asleep.
If you need someone to collaborate with on the Happy Holidays review, I am more than down. If there is one release I would want to do with you, it's that one. My childhood literally revolves around that tape, and my mum has a video of me watching that tape when I was like 3 years old, singing along to the theme song and saying "wet, wet, wet" when watching Toby & The Flood. If you have someone already to review that tape with, that's fine, but I have more to say about this release than the entirety of the home media catalogue.
Awesome reviews! Great way to start the new season! Heres my thoughts on each episode Thomas Gets It Right - Yikes! Really not starting off the Dvd strong... this concept could be interesting of done right (very hard to do but not impossible) but it failed and was just incredibly boring and underwhelming. The fact that this happens after a storm too? Like whats more important clearing up the railway or delivering eggs? Clearing up the railway! Also, can we please take a moment to talk about how unhygienic STH eating the eggs from off the floor is? Yuck! At least the scenery looked nice. 1/10 Emily's New Route - Another episode with a nice concept but bad choices ruined it making it a generic mess :/ I wish they spent more time on the stuff I actually care about like Black Loch and setting up as opposed to the flour run which I wasn't invested in and took up far too much screentime. Yes, it set up Black Loch but a good chunk of it could've been cut to give us more about Black Loch. It frustrates me how they didn't change the setting to make Black Loch scary either since its meant to be until the reveal. Like, how much better would it be if it was gloomy and foggy? Much better imo. The crash was spectacular and visual eye candy though! Loved the seals reveal too that was adorable. 2/10 Percy's Big Mistake - Another pretty bad episode yikes! My main issue with this episode is weird though. Its that Percys out of character BUT, at the same time somehow Percy being ooc made him in character? Like it's ooc for Percy to think STH would scrap him since it's already been established many times that STH would never scrap him (or any other engines for that matter.) SO WHY DOES PERCY THINK HE'LL BE SCRAPPED?! But, then he's also in character (or at least for the era) because he jumps to conclusions without knowing the full story like here. Also, how did Percy hear the conversation between STH and his driver? Not only was he a berth away from the conversation but there was also a wall between them so how could he hear? I guess it's not impossible but it dosent really seem realistic. The 7 minute runtime was too long for this too. It was weak enough as it is but then the runtime dragged it out too which thus made it worse. Why were the pipes falling from the trucks never brought up again either? BUT then that's not even all of it that crash?! How did that happen it's literally impossible?! The faulty points should've made the brakevan derail considering it was coupled to the train! Even though I was just complaining about it though I can't deny the crash does look incredible visually! 1/10 As Good As Gordon - This episode really upsets me that it wasn't better. It could've easily fit into the RWS if done correctly but this execution was awful and created an episode I really don't like. It's a massive problem when the main character of the episode is unbearable it makes it so much harder for me to get into it. It was extremely predictable too we knew straight away what would happen next so that made it harder to get interested :/ The 7 minute runtime didn't work here like it dosent in most episodes it just made the episode drag and be padded out which made this episode suffer. Emily's comeuppance was great though 3/10 James Gets A New Coat - Yeah this one's a hot take. This episode is just okay imo, the positives and negatives balance each other out which is frustrating since it could've been so much better. I'll start off with positives for once since all the other reviews in this I've mainly just talked about negatives. I really like how James got his comeuppance - it was nothing too over the top it was casual but that's what makes it good. If they went over the top with it it would feel forced - having his paintwork be covered in coal dust is perfectly fitting since all his boasting was about his paint so his comeuppance being about his paint is perfect. That ending was really funny too James had all those troubles which led to his comeuppance whereas Percy who did nothing wrong had no problems at all and just rolled up to tease James. Such a fitting and funny ending. James was wrote really in character and this is something he'd do but, this also creates problems with the episode which I'll get onto now. Even though this is in character for James they went way too far with it and made him insufferably annoying which made it hard to watch, since the protagonist was so annoying in this episode. That 7 minutes runtime really didn't work here either it would've worked so much better at 4:30. I mean look at how slow it was and the filler like did we need to know every characters job when it wasn't relevant to the story? 4/10 Thomas, Emily and the Snowplough - Ending off the Dvd on an abysmal episode... hooray (/s.) The story is so boring, slow and generic I just couldn't care at all about this episode. The 3 strike formula was absolutely horrible here. HiT Emily is at her worst here like going out of her way to NITPICK THOMAS ON THE TINIEST THING about his work is so annoying. Dosent Emily have anything better to do? That resolution was really lazy too. At least the visuals were nice 1/10
I used to have that DVD, but thanks goodness I don't have it anymore (after I temporarily gave up on Thomas thanks to secondary school), because I didn't like "Thomas Gets It Right", "As Good as Gordon" and "Thomas, Emily and the Snowplough"! 😫 Granted, the other episodes are good... but I wouldn't bother having a DVD with three good episodes and three bad ones, plus learning segments I don't need to bother going through now. Also haven't heard the "Emily" song in a while. ...I guess that song wasn't one of the best, but not too bad.
That is so very strange that Gordon's voice was have been change for some moderate reason that Michael Angeles does he wants to do to compression of the same Gordon's voice acting just like he did here round in series 5 but in the episode Thomas Gets it right his voice sounded like it's bit flats and brothels so nasally which is that then you've ever seen have and even see right that is not the same going to voice like we heard just like he did it before in series 5 back in 1998.
And the episode of Thomas gets the rights that scene with the eggs when Thomas was going to fast in this scene there remind me of a bit of a flashback to me I can tell I see a bit of all very shadowy black screen all over it's just unnecessary negative in my opinion.
Yeah I agree on you Sean because disappointed of the episode it just wasted the whole entirely of the audience's time so I'm going to give that a 0/1 out of with a no 10 Stars for a very boring episode not a good way to fit start off with this DVD.
Now for Emily's new routes I got to say in the same where they're going entirely of the Rockside collapseded right next to Castle lot and it would Be Emily's passengers For It would have been have it killed from that crash man I can tell if the rocks with my flow all over up until the knocked over the coaches running the between of the grass and the sand and the sea you know where Emily was standing but not a pretty really bad episode so I'm going to give that a 10 out of 10 with all stars for a Great happy story ending in to this episode perfect.
And for this episode right over here from Percy's big mistake is just fantastically amazing like the break van thought I really do in joined and loved This scene back then when I was a little kid I used to own Thomas's Track star on DVD in 2006 I used to watch the scene on my DVD player over and over again and such it is such a great episode and the target scenes love that crash and I like reality for it to live like but all that detailing on Gordon's model work there too which they use like realtar which the texter by the work looks absolutely just fantastic I'm going to get this episode a 11/ 11 Stars for a fantastic much better solid awesome episode what a much better perfect more Percy episode. 👍
For it's good to be Gordon from my own opinion though they shouldn't have putting Emily into this episode there this episode would have never make a lot of more instalgic sense it was more about Gordon the big blue engine but why not if you just like them write something for a change like wherever the episode should have been happen about like Emily or Gordon which is which the guys the writers and producers who worked for hit entertainment company you know what this episode sucks I'm going to give that a big zero out of 10 this episode is absolute complete garbage also one more thing before I say you're nothing else I just want to say this I don't even know why he was pulling the express because that won't make a lot of sense it would have been having Henry's choice to pull it because we saw on all the seasons pulling a the express before a lot of times in cameos and episode rolls Like just put dad in a little bit of her pizzazz in to it with one scene in this episode at least you could try that guys.
Due to this DVD's release history, I have a theory that it was originally intended to be released by VCI before they went bankrupt with the company being taken over by 2Entertain.
Welcome back King. Tales from the tracks Is the only Bad season 8 release in my opinion. It's great to be an engine and peep peep hooray are very good, while all aboard with the steam team Is decent
I agree with your rewrite of 'As Good As Gordon'. That would fit well for Emily's S7 character about asking for help, and the Stirling Singles are prone to wheelslip due to their large driving wheels (something the show crew and later ones seem to forget and stated that she goes faster when she's not!).
Thank you for bringing this series back Sean I really enjoy these type of videos
I'm glad your back doing DVD Reviews, Sean!
missed this series, time to rewatch them all!!

Funny enough, this dvd was also basically "Track Stars" in the US since it does have the same episodes as this one.
Can we just say that "James Gets a New Coat" is the most James we have gotten?
james gets a new coat is one of my favorite hit epsiodes
Hey man I've enjoyed your dvd review. Keep it up man. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
“Percy’s definitely a bit TOO paranoid and like - running away? Seriously?”
Can you really blame him though? This guy overhears Sir Topham Hatt literally say “Percy hasn’t been doing his job well lately - he must go to the scrapyard tomorrow” Like the way he words it, who WOULDN’T think that means death tomorrow?
I've always thought that too

Already know the video is a banger
Is it me or are most of the hit dvds end with Thomas,Emily and the snowplough
@AYDEN Productions // WQUG 26 yea but like I have the holiday express and even that ends with Thomas,Emily and the snowplough
well actually it ended with Thomas’ Frosty Friend, but you do have a point, when it first aired, the airing this aired made this the last episode on the release
Fr i own track stars and it also ends with Thomas, Emily and the snow plow
@@peter19426 same
@@peter19426track stars is just the us version of this dvd Lol
Great video
I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes James Gets a New Coat.
5:31 Why does Gordon look like he’s covered in gravy!?
This DVD was released in America, but the title in the US is Track Stars. The title Tales from the Tracks would be used in America however, but the US Tales from the Tracks is what the UK refers to as Little Engines, BIG Days Out

6:59 As Good as Gordon; More like As Good as Emily or Being like Gordon. 7:22 and she was her Season 7 version.
8:05 James Gets a New Coat; 8:27 8:39 War on the Railway about 🧥
9:13 Learning Segment #3; Dumb Thomas vs Dumb Percy
9:35 Thomas, Emily and The Snowplough; Thomas x Snowplough is such an Awful ship.
10:47 Verdict; why one more song like Sounds or Suprises, also is Little Engines BIG Days Out hot awful? And I bet Happy Holidays is really good.
Yes dvd reviews are back
A NEW DVD review!?

I actually had the US release of this DVD at some point (was called Track Stars). Though I don't have it anymore, I do remember one of its learning segments literally making me fall asleep.

am i the only one that noticed that emily stars in half the episodes in this dvd

can you rank every Scooby Doo and Sonic voice actor from worst to best?
i like tales from the tracks just for nostalgia as it was the only season 8 dvd i had and one ive had a long time
Home video mysteries- why did they call this dvd tales from the tracks in the uk, then the next dvd was called tales from the tracks in the us?

Everybody's gonna probably hate me for this But I kinda enjoy the learning segments
I mean, they're gonna be interesting watches for the kids. It's CGI Thomas before CGI Thomas, when you think about it...
I just appreciate the exclusive model footage
I kind of mixed on the hit model era it have good episodes and some episodes are really bad i fine the learning segments i like the songs
