That album dropped my freshman year of high school. We thought it the hardest hard rock we had ever heard. Radio stations wouldn't touch it. It sold on word of mouth. It prepared the way for their next album, their breakthrough album, The Number of the Beast. As for this particular song, it follows themes set up in "Prowler" off their first album.
You know what I always thought help sell Iron Maiden albums? The amazing Derek Riggs artwork on the covers. Like people would see that album art and you had to know what that band sounded like. It makes me so happy that this music has become legendary. 🤘😄
@@norcalnerfclub3423 I bought Piece of Mind when it came out at age 13 because of the artwork. I had never heard Iron Maiden but it looked scary & cool
As usual (+\-): - songwriting - structure - transitions and dynamics - numerous great melodies and sentimentality and emotions - beauty - power, vigor, daring - the vocals follow that nature, signature and essence - novelty, uniqueness, influence and invention - music comes first, lyrics are great aesthetically, emotionally, and artistically but come second, and the main great deep topic as usual maiden is existential experiences and pains All at the same time mostly, give or take!! Up the Irons!
Brad, play this one for Lex when you have time! She will LOVE it!! Killers is their second album. After their fourth album was out, a reporter doing an interview for a guitar magazine asked guitarist Dave Murray what he felt like was his best guitar playing on all of Maidens records up to that point? Dave said, "On Killers."
Who cares!? The music is great, real and unique as usual form maiden, and that’s what matters first and the most for me! Aesthetically, sentimentally and artistically the lyrics are great as usual, it’s not about topic in the first place! The essential and core topics of maiden are about existential experiences and pains in essence and in general!
I think it's more about a paranoid schizophrenic who believes he's hearing the voice of God. I've got a friend who hears voices, one of which he believes is God, and when he's off his meds the voices tell him to do some crazy stuff (although fortunately they've never told him to hurt anyone other than himself).
You don’t say!!! Real maiden in songwriting and song structure and the balanced structure with lots of great melodies, emotions, sentimentality, power, transitions, dynamics, drama, vigor, daring, and beauty at the same time often, that’s their nature, signature and essence in a deeper, more accurate, more comprehensive and more thorough view!
Bruce is amazing and all respect to him but the early Iron Maiden era is easily my favorite. Killers is just a perfect record. There’s balls to the wall fury on it that I never heard again from them
Unpopular opinion... I hate the way Paul sings the "yeah's" at the beginning. They make me cringe. They don't suit the mood of the song. I love Bruce's take on this. This song needs to be spitting venom. Once Paul begins the singing, it's pretty badass.
Also an unpopular opinion. I think Bruce makes every Paul song sound way worse, and doesn't do the original songs justice. Then again, i think Paul would never be able to do any Bruce song justice.
Rest in Peace Paul, will be sadly missed - God Bless (1958-2024)🙁😢😟🙏
The brilliance of Steve Harris.
This whole album is literally Killer!!
My favorite album from them
My first Maiden album. Used to listen to it on my walkman while on my paper route. I'll always love it.
The first 2 iron maiden albums are unskippable .
There best albums
First three, really. Number is a masterpiece top to bottom. Nobody goin' harder than clive burr on that record. Unreal.
@@jeffblevins5899I honestly could just say that everything up to seventh son to me is perfect
This album is epic
I remember blasting this on some crappy pc speakers (with almost no bass frequencies) as a kid. It still sounded killer to me ;-)
🤘
one of my all time favourites from Maiden too! amazing track! Paul Di'Anno could have been the goat imo😂
I still have that album from when I was a kid. Got it in 1983
In my opinion this is a perfect album. Every song is so good that it's insane to realize this was the last album with this sound and line up.
Brother. You got it right... This Song is TOP. THE WHOLE ALBUM is This GOOD... THAT is Why it is called KILLERS..........!!!!!!
Mt Baker, snowboarding in so much new powder with this rocking on my walkman!
Really? It's 82 down hear in the lowlands

Awesome song up The Irons
Great reaction. One of my favorite Maiden songs.

👍💯❤️
I remember when this came out, saw them open for Judas Priest touring this album
Di'anno is the shit!
God this is so good
Good one about a bloodthirsty killer who kills without mercy after stalking his prey and laughs while committing murder.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner - Live Flight666
It was a great pity that Paul D'ianno couldn't continue with the band....
They were a much grittier with his vocals
There seem to be a few religious references in the lyrics. Is our killer a psychopathic religious fanatic ...?😵💫

The real Iron Maiden, before that flying opera singer took over.

Solo estas repitiendo lo que decia Di'anno una vez fuera de Maiden...
