Very impressed with the new HW4 cameras. Look way better and less washed out than HW3. Hope that in future they add a feature that will alert you to look at the road if it detects that you're not paying enough attention, by either not looking or looking at the screen too much. Could also be used for autopilot additionally.
A lot of that is just image manipulation. They do not do a lot of manipulation of the image in HW3 because of the limited recourses in HW3 (pretty slow old computer with poor graphic capabilities).
In some countries that would stop you being able to access the assisted driving features I believe as it has to monitor you by law, but yeh I cover mine

Why would they fit a dummy camera?

Only need two cameras for HW4. The end camera and dummy camera switch depending on if left or right hand drive.

I wonder if the rear view camera is any better and keeping clean? I seem to spend a lot of time cleaning mine
From the short time I had with hw4 it was mucky after a couple drives. Amazed they don’t have a washer system

Weird how the youtube camera also got darker on hw3, almost like the time of day changed
Had the HW4 car in the morning, dropped it off and picked my car back up and filmed that at 1pm so a few hours inbetween

Interior cam of a HW3 MY 2023 already has that wider lens, thats not HW4 related

The Front Camera HW3 is so bad quality compared to HW4 quality its so clear
