Take a look at the camp site ivy bank if you want to try something different they have a double decker bus with log burner hot tub, we have camped there as a club EAST RIDING 4x4
Booths in Keswick has to be the most expensive supermarket in the UK. When staying just outside Keswick, we went to Booths for the first time and saw smoked turkey on the deli and thought it would make some nice sandwiches. Asked for 3 slices and nearly dropped dead when they said it would be £27!!!. TWENTY SEVEN F-ING POUNDS FOR 3 SLICES OF TURKEY, JESUS CHRIST.
Great video of you two being happy and enjoying life 😁 Jo wins the points for the cooking and photo demo, you win on naming that tune but an abysmall failure on the iconic Buttermere tree.🤣
Mrs Messner is fab! :) She should have her own channel :) Love Sykes Farm. I have spent many family holidays there. Thank goodness they have a shelter, because the storms can be pretty rough. I remember one night when 90% of all the tents were flattened due to high winds. But that is the fun of camping :) And of course, having the experience an equipment. Camping used to be a past time for families that didn''t have a lot of money. Now it's as expensive as a hotel room. But not the same. It's nice to do both... You appreciate the hotel more after spending all night in a muddy field :)
Paul, I love the way your great wife is enriching your videos with her extra nice personality! I wish you both all the best! And I wish I could camp with my wife the way you both do :)
Absolutely loved this video Paul & Jo. Such a lovely candid, heart warming and funny video. It was like being invited by some quality friends to enjoy some grub, drinks and laughter… Thank you both.. Mark ❤️
Good content Paul and especially Jo very special to get to see the missus thought you would cook on the stove but then you did the outdoor breakfast really good guys
I think you are a great couple, good call not to be in a freezing tent, your music quiz skills were very impressive Paul, I have become very soft over the years, you winter camper's are brave or daft souls, I did camp on sykeside one Xmas night at base of Kirkstone pass, a great campsite! Mark Shaw.
Just beautiful Paul & Jo ... a conversation with a normal married couple .. enjoyed every minute .... ... Now for this years ' Gotta Do ' list ... I've never seen you in the Three Peaks distict of Yorkshire ( I maybe wrong though ) but .. hows about you & missy Jo havin a crack at .... caving or gentile potholing !!!! ... There's plenty of stunning wild camping spots with wonderfull sunrises & sun sets & you can explore lots of cave systems that are simple & easy .. you walk in & walk out of .... Me & my wife used to explore lots in our younger days ... when we were 50 ish .... now very near 70 ... Miss em a lot ... do it whilst you can .... Seriously we spent many happy weekends hiking the hills & peaks searching out the caves ( using guide books ) it's not as scary as you think ... Upper & Lower Long Churn Caves are a real easy start .. near Ingleborough ( Google it ! ) . You never know you might get hooked .... Whatever you do ... do it OUTSIDE ... ( or underground ! ! ) .
Simon, A Bloke in the Woods paddled the Great Glen Canoe Route in Scotland. How about a paddling trip? Or maybe a collaboration with Simon? He lives in Diss, Norfolk. A trip to the US would be cool too. The White Mountains, or somewhere out west.
Really very entertaining video Paul and Jo in your wooden tent. This video will see the death of normal camping. Jo you are a good cook. Thank you and both Stay Safe.
Very impressed with 'name that tune.' Things to try - fire walking, limbo dancing, tightrope walking, all out doors of course. I wouldn't even consider doing any of these things myself, you would have to be daft lol. Love watching your videos, very chilled even in dreadful weather etc.
Was shocked when you got rid of the Hilleberg Paul, suppose that’s where Voyager and Southern Cross step in. That little hut looks fantastic, never done glamping yet but after watching Graces Adventures, definitely interested in trying some out on multi-day hikes.
I'm not sure if you've done this but I think wild swimming would be good as it free and anyone can do it, but better than that it's really good for you. Thanks guys . Lee Walsh coventry.
That was a good one. Felt like I was in that "shed" with you as you two bantered on. A wild campers licence? Now there's a thought. You two can come up with something better than half the tripe on telly these days. Well done.
Top campsite. I try and get there a couple of times a year. Never booked the hut before. It looks so cosy! Might be a way to get my husband to come with me next time ☺️
I’m going to be in Devon end of March, maybe I’ll go a bit earlier and try and get to the outdoor expo too! Been dying to get Jo’s autograph! 😛 Paddleboarding is fun, curious if it can be combined with camping! Group camp sounds like fun, be well up for that.
Honestly thought in the morning when you opened the blind you had the magic cloth to wipe the condensation ha ha ha great vid guys it's like we all know you
Keeping with Jo's plan to have one camping trip together each month..you guys should go to a different district or village each time. A place neither of you have gone to.
Hi Paul. So near, yet so far. We were supposed to be on Fleetworth Saturday night , but called it off. We had a ride down to Sykes farm, still very wild. We were on Honister pass last year when you camped. We also tried the pubs. Had a walk round the site, then went unfortunately home,as not in the van 😢 😕
I might suggest something that I use when I have chest, throat issues.. Oil of oregano.. It is a hot oil mixed in a few ounces of water and it turbo charges my immune system.. My wife doesn’t like the taste so I bought her capsules and I am fine drinking it down..
OMG!!! Paul check your videos one of your highest view videos is camping in a storm. Every time there is slight bad weather you don’t go anyway and if you do get caught out in it. It looks like you are absolutely scared. Then you are sitting there going on how you would have camped out in it if you had the right gear which is totally untrue. I think Joe should make a camping channel. She probably would do it and I like her 😘
You’ll have to try stealth camping in Go Outdoors to make the January camp without the adverse conditions 😂 I was up on Grindslow Knoll last week and must’ve been gusting 40mph, my Soloist would’ve been binned but Helm 1 stood up brilliantly, just had to re-peg one guyline.
I'd have to side with Jo on the cooking Paul 😂 it's always nicer when it's made for you anyway 😋 what a fabulous little place, great point Jo made about generating a income with re: to national trust 👍 great Vlog guys ❤️
That's cheating Paul !!! 😉....what an amazing place, done a few bothies but never seen anything like that, great to see you both out and about in the bad weather 🤘
I'm usually not the 1st to comment but I'm always here showing support for a brilliant channel 👍see you on the next adventure Paul and the gaffer of course 😃👍
I love watching your videos Paul their entertaining n fun. I hate it when u cook though because you always leave me very hungry lol. We need to see more of ur lovely wife she seems a down to earth too. Wish u both be fit n well this year. Looking forward to seeing your new videos
Great vid Paul, just a quick request, can you do a review on camping quilts. I can't get away with sleeping bags but quilts are expensive and a mine field, and a lot of money for a 3 season camper. A few pointers on the features they offer and the benefits would be great.. What dies average Jo needs ? Keep going man, you are an inspiration, love your content.
Starting to see a few videos lately of tents failing in the high winds. I don’t understand people chasing this weather and some of them in budget tents as well.
Wow! Paul, can you hold the camera still or stop it blowing about? It's making me seasick 🤭🤣🤣 That was a lovely little hut, shame you had to talk to each other 😂 anyway, joking over. I vote Mrs Messner as best chef. Happy New Year to you all 🥂🎉
What a great video, I love watching your adventures but this was something different and very very special , made me realise I can still "get out there" regardless of my health . To hell with can*er, time I started planning and getting things done. Thank You so much ❤
12 mins in Jo said you’re sad, sheltered to be kind😊, no one owns the land we only tend it, as for the natural trust it’s precisely that they should do more for us all. Out of a glass don’t be a phillistine hic.great vid Paul,Jo natural thanks for sharing
not having a signal on your cellphone is NOT a problem unless you have an emergency Paul 😛 YT and stuff can go away and you can enjoy your time with your wife ;-)
That hut is really cool. And no cell phone signal. Perfect Scenario.
What a brilliant film. I'd be happy if that cabin was my house. That scenery ❤.
These two are bestest beast mates.
Oh, I remember this spot. It was the first time I saw you bring Jo along. As far as anniversaries go, this is a good one to celebrate.
10:24 Paul was right here the choir is singing adagio for strings. 🤣
The chemistry between you both is so joyful to watch Loved the video
That place looks magic and Mrs. M always brightens up every video.
My circle of family just expanded. Love seeing you and your wife. Such a lovely couple. Thanks for sharing
One of the best vids I’ve seen you do lately, your interaction with Jo is great good to see her out with you again.
Absolutely loved this video
Take a look at the camp site ivy bank if you want to try something different they have a double decker bus with log burner hot tub, we have camped there as a club EAST RIDING 4x4
A lovely part of the lakes, will make a note of the site. Thanks for sharing. We have tickets for the Expo, hope we bump into you both there. ATB

Wow! Was it crossed with a unicorn!!!??
Booths is for the tourists
Locals shop at Lakes & Dale's Co-operative on main street.
You can thank me later.
@@feel.the.need. Do they have smoked turkey at the Co-op?
Wow, I’ll be avoiding that.
That’s obviously their mistake and the wrong price.
Great video of you two being happy and enjoying life 😁 Jo wins the points for the cooking and photo demo, you win on naming that tune but an abysmall failure on the iconic Buttermere tree.🤣

Crummond water looks good enough to learn your paddle boarding. If it’s allowed of course.
Big 👍🏻 up for Booths from me too
That Paul....... such a romantic " what's your favourite tent peg look like"
Paul, I love the way your great wife is enriching your videos with her extra nice personality! I wish you both all the best! And I wish I could camp with my wife the way you both do :)
Internet free perfect. Looked very cosy and welcoming, the stove already laid. Preferrable to a tent in high cold winds.
Absolutely loved this video Paul & Jo. Such a lovely candid, heart warming and funny video. It was like being invited by some quality friends to enjoy some grub, drinks and laughter… Thank you both.. Mark ❤️
Looks lovely. I really enjoyed seeing this!! Thanks.
On the list of things to do, can highly recommend taking to the sky in a microlight, get a stunning view at around 3,000ft.
Great video as per always. Nice to see the Messners in their natural habitat!
Good content Paul and especially Jo very special to get to see the missus thought you would cook on the stove but then you did the outdoor breakfast really good guys

Great to see you both so happy! Can't wait to see both of you in New adventures.
Paul the group camp later this year with stalls and things, you could have like a festival and call it .Messtival 23!

1 hour well spent enjoyed it
Really very entertaining video Paul and Jo in your wooden tent. This video will see the death of normal camping. Jo you are a good cook. Thank you and both Stay Safe.
Great video loving the chat. Jo's camping licence idea is pure genius ATB Kev
As I'm watching you new video, all I'm doing is smiling 😃 😊 your both great 👍 keep it up. Lee from Coventry.
Great video Mr & Mrs Messner hut looks great and u both bring real chemistry to the video
What a lovely down to earth couple. Enjoy each others company, I'm jealous😍😅
Buttermere, THE most beautiful place on the planet.
Mrs Messner is the best cook obvs....

Always watch but never comment....Enjoyed this Paul...Love Jo's face everytime you start talking about tents.
A great team , good one! Places couples can be happy together in the countryside.
Nice one guys ❤. I enjoyed that 👏 . A very relaxing watch 😌 . Campsite ⛺️ noted.
Always a good time to see you two together.
love it!.. Thank you!
Great vlog. The next Morecambe and Wise....I bet Beavers wished he'd chosen a cabin as well lol.
Stay well, good to see you moving forward.
When asking people to subscribe, make sure they understand it's totally free. Some people think they have to pay a subscription fee.

You'll get a signal at the little cafe... I just about managed it on Three Network.
I'm not sure if you've done this but I think wild swimming would be good as it free and anyone can do it, but better than that it's really good for you. Thanks guys . Lee Walsh coventry.
Agree on the whole wild camping thing, would happily pay a yearly membership to camp, if money went towards the upkeep of the land/fences/paths etc.
What a genuinely nice couple.
Happy New Year to you both. 👍
Looking forward to this one, love the longer videos ❤️
Me and the wife sat here laughing.
Great video.
That was a good one. Felt like I was in that "shed" with you as you two bantered on. A wild campers licence? Now there's a thought. You two can come up with something better than half the tripe on telly these days. Well done.
Jo is definitely the better cook! Lol. You guys are great together!
I could watch you two all day lol
Crack is great music knowledge outstanding but joe is definately a contender for best cook lol
Love it 😀
Just for Jo. - "I wish you'd stop moving that camera around Paul. It only needs one shot that!" - Lovely video.
You two are a joy. Thank you!!

Amazing stuff guys. Lovely to see you about Jo!! Great vid as always ❤😊
Top campsite. I try and get there a couple of times a year. Never booked the hut before. It looks so cosy! Might be a way to get my husband to come with me next time ☺️
Abseil, Bungee Jump, Sky Dive, White water rafting, the choices are endless for new challenges.
I'm going to shorpshier for a fortnight in July, thanks Paul and Jo have a fantastic time thanks for a fantastic video and views!
Go on a cruise - you won't be disappointed with the fjords.
I’m going to be in Devon end of March, maybe I’ll go a bit earlier and try and get to the outdoor expo too! Been dying to get Jo’s autograph! 😛
Paddleboarding is fun, curious if it can be combined with camping!
Group camp sounds like fun, be well up for that.
130 quid a night for a hut! Y'ouch! At least it's only £9pp for a tent. Awesome video, love when Jo's in them 🙂
Honestly thought in the morning when you opened the blind you had the magic cloth to wipe the condensation ha ha ha great vid guys it's like we all know you
You are insanely good at picking out those songs,I bet you do pub quizes?
Keeping with Jo's plan to have one camping trip together each month..you guys should go to a different district or village each time. A place neither of you have gone to.
Brave man suggesting a wild-angle lens! Hopefully see you at the NEC.

Booths is for tourists
Locals shop at the Lakes & Dale's Co-operative on Main Street, Keswick 👍
Locals shop in Morrisons or Sainsbury in Penrith
Not my friends and family who farm there..
Great video 😊
Great little vid. If I take one thing from this it would be; I wouldn't go camping in this weather I've sold my Hilleberge
This bug doing the rounds has everyone wrecked. Especially the cough which seems to take about 6 weeks to shake off.
That's cheating Paul !!! 😉....what an amazing place, done a few bothies but never seen anything like that, great to see you both out and about in the bad weather 🤘
