Thanks for the video. It was helpful in solving a problem. Just a comment on 2 amp power supply specifications. Your advice is good. However, the 2 amps refers to a minimum capacity output rating. It can be greater than 2 amps and still be fine. In fact, a greater capacity usually means the power source has some reserve headroom which is a good feature. The scope, and any other electronic device, will draw the exact charging amperage it requires up to the limit of the supply. The supply does not force the scope to take the full amperage. On the other hand, the output voltage is important to be a constant 5 volts regulated. (Hank, retired designer of power supplies.)
Any ideas on focusing issues? My scope worked great yesterday but today I turned it on and now it won’t focus on anything after 5 yards anything past 25 yards is a complete blur
I have a Thor 4 640 and in the morning the image is muted due to the environment beingg cold soaked, but sometimes when it NUC's, the contrastrs are way better but there is a ghost image floating on the current image. It seems that the scope is capable of better image quality differentiating of contrasts in a cold soaked environment. Any idea what it's doing? I've tried contrast and thermal sensativity to no avail.

Any advice on why my compass does not calibrate? I've done the whirly twirly dance shown on ATNs website. But it just gets stuck on North and when I flip it 360, I get ERR at the top.
Is it possible to fix the compass "err"? I've tried to do the calibration, but it's not fixing it. I've had the issue since I opened the box. Everything else seems to function fine except the ballistics calculator, but that depends on the compass to work properly.

@Scott I got rid of the err error, but I still get the strong magnetic field (smf) error and it doesn't always read correctly. The figure 8 corrected it for a bit, but it eventually went out of waxk again.

Maybe that explains why when I shot my AR today I never knew I had to turn the ballistics calculator off and it seemed like I was off the target now once you do sight it in with that ballistic calculator off and you turn the ballistic calculator on does it automatically move your radicalon to the target at different ranges when you hit the down arrow? I also run the ABL 1500 and when I went align the ABL the way you would think it would be the laser was not in the center the only way I got it to line up with the ABL box was I had to flip the ABL almost upside down

I’m having trouble sighting in my Thor 4 . I went through the video and did everything but my shots are any where from 8 to 10 inches off. Took scope off put a different scope on to see if it’s the scope or the gun. The gun is a tack driver with the other scope on it wondering what thei should try.?
Got the Thor 4 set up on the rifle. For some reason it will not recognize the heat of an object. The reticle shows up and the compass but cannot see the target. Ideas??
Question for you. I have the 4k pro on a quick detach scope mount. I created a profile for my ar10 and one for my 308 bolt action. Do I need to re-zero the scope every time I go between rifles or does it retain zero? I’m old school and prefer to re-zero religiously but I’m just curious if it’s necessary. Thanks!
@@jeremyclark9176 I tested it out this past weekend. I went between my ar10/ar15/ 308 bolt gun and found that I did not need to re-zero. I zeroed and saved profiles before testing and I had no issues moving from gun to gun. I tested it out at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. I notched my rifles so to be sure I placed the optic in the exact same spot. Good luck!

I have a 4K on my air rifle (fx impact) at the moment I am using 7 profiles ie .22 caliber with 2 different slug weighs and 1 pellet, .25 with 1 slug, 1 pellet different weights and a .30 with 1 slug and 1 pellet. My question for you is do I need to zero for each profile or just the one as the scope is staying on the rifle and let the abl and ballistics calculator come up with its own solution? I have an issue with my zoom in and out one of my Thor 4s zoom in and out perfect the other one you have to just keep spinning over and over for it to move A couple clicks very strange I cannot figure out the issue.
I found out my thor 4 keeps getting a ERR code because of the compass. It is always pointing North no matter what ,and if I rotate the scope it immidiatly gets a err code. I rotated the scope to calibrate but dont help. Do I just start rotating the scope to calibrate it or is there something more to it? I cant find any steps for calibrating in the settings. The err code dont seem to bother anything,,and is easiy reset by opening functions and closing again

I’ve played with all the settings, contrast, sensitivity, etc. the issue is that the picture is just blown out, it looks very white. It can sort of detect in the corners but even at 25 yards it’s just not contrasting well. Any ideas?
If you haven't (and this is just me learning myself) try adjusting the objective lense. Very touchy at max magnification like most scopes. That helped alot. I myself got a bigger capacity micro SD card and I will eventually get what's recommended not sure that would play a role in sight picture. But best of luck.

At 7:48 you mention to turn off the Ballistics calculator when zeroing a weapon. I have zero'd my scope at 100 yds successfully. A few days later I zero'd my ABL for the first time, at 100 yards, soon after that I shot my rifle at 100 yds 5 times, didnt even touch the paper (8inx10in target). I lost my zero. First thing I did was to check the rings and mounts to be tight, they were. My next thought is that something occurred when I sighted my ABL, because before I shot, I pressed the Rangefinder button and gave me 100 yds. Any idea what could have happened? I would assume its something to do with your comment about turning off the calculator.

Just got my Thor LT in yesterday. Had it plugged in overnight and this morning battery still showed empty. I was using an iPhone plug. Went and picked up another plug this morning, rated at 2.4a and it's been charging for about 3 hours now, battery still shows completely empty but will function when unplugged. Lightning bolt is visible next to the battery symbol when it's plugged in. Any ideas?
I have an issue I have the ATN 4K buck hunter 3-14 and when I get passed 6x on the zoom looking at anything past 50 yards it gets extremely blurry no mater how I adjust the front focus adjustment The first time I took it out and sighted it in it did not have this issue the second time it’s started doing this idk if I messed with something in the settings or what I did any ideas I contacted ATN multiple times and they never get back to me with a response
After shooting about 30rd out of me rifle the sight clarity got super off like when you’re watching a movie through a VCR but with the contrast all the way up. Almost as if it’s receiving too much light and even with the extension added to shroud the light it still does it and I tried to see if it was only during the day but it does the same thing in might vision mode at night. Did I break this sight somehow or is it fixable?
I've been thinking about one of these, either 14 or 20x. Not knowing much about them I have a few questions. Is everything you see through the scope electronic (nothing etched in glass)? Is the zoom electronic, mechanical or a combo? Thinking about how grainy the zoom will look at high magnification, 14 vs 20x, would the 20x zoom be more clear at 14x magnification than the 14x zoom is at 14x? (14x is a good magnification but if 20x shows clearer at 14x it may be worth buying the 20x to get that clarity). I've seen video of these and at 200 yards they seem worthless at night without some powerful light to light up the target area. What kind of light, type/power wise, does it take to make these scopes work well at, say, 300/400 yards? Hope this isn't to much of a pain but since I can't just go test them I want as much info. as I can get. Thanks so much!
Nothing is etched. Digital zoom. You will get some distortion at full zoom. Paired with a sniper hog IR light you'll be more than able to take a 300+ yd shot.
Near zoom should be considered as well else your field of view could be way too narrow and you can't find a moving target. Big diff between 3x and 5x in FOV.
My new atn thor 4 wont turn on. When it arrived I did the firmware update and it seemed to work fine for a couple days and then I tried to turn it in nothing happens. It clicks when I hold the power button down for 15sec but still doesn't turn on. If I plug it up to charger still nothing happens. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time.

Open crop fields of Ohio. Primary target will be yotes out to 800yds, but would not take a shot over 200yds with AR .223 and plan on doing a SBR 300 blkout build suppressed.
Hi I've got a request I will like to see a video on a full set up on a abl 1500 input like setting speed and scope hight and other info I know all rifles are different but it the basic info will help I've done mine and it still ain't 100 percent . Zero at 100 shot using the the ffp recital profile and tryed to aim with the green dot on cross at 200yards and it shot almost on cross and 300yards it was in-between the dot and cross any help with that will be good
As I was researching entry level thermals I did see a few negative comments about Thor4 not working and another where ATN was difficult to get ahold of to resolve manufacturing issues. Have you heard of such issues? All other comments seemed positive and a good product..
4k pro 3-14 - night vision is working at 10 yards - past that it is just white/black - infra-red illuminator is working and tried adjusting that and that is not the issue - any clue please
I’m having trouble with the audio lagging behind the video when replaying it. Didn’t have that issue initially then started doing it on some videos but not on others. Eventually started doing it on all rav but not on manually triggered videos then eventually started doing it on them. I updated to latest firmware didn’t help. I had a off brand Walmart 16gb card in it that had the rated specs from atn so recently swapped it out for San disk extreme pro 32gb high end card and still have same issues. Any recommendations to fix this issue?

my screen went gray and malfunctioned after first 15 minutes of learning settings. Can't even turn it off, charge it, or connect to computer. Just gray snow screen. battery charge was 3/4 power. No functions work now.
One other quick question hopefully you could help or somebody else. I am using a Samsung Galaxy s20 and it will not work with the app I was told by ATN that they haven't figured out the s20 yet. don't know whether to believe them or not

hope you can help, Just got my new 4k pro last week , everything has been fine until this mornings hunt. The problem is when I record and playback there is no date or crosshairs. I have the correct firmware and did a factory reset. still the issue is there
ok, so I had it set on the 60, now I bumped it up to 120, the reticle works during nite mode playback but not in day mode, I now will try bumping it down to 60. get right back to u.

@Scott have you done the rotation calibration? You can also try holding the scope in the middle and do figure 8s for like 20 seconds.

@Scott you can try doing the figure 8 with it mounted. You might have to use 2 hands depending on what you're mounted to.

Its an ATN QD Mount. $100. I recommend mounting the IR under the barrel

Guess ATN quit supplying the usb changing cord, i just received my ATN 4k pro 5x20 scope and it didn't come with one

You're probably over thinking the whole thing buddy. Shoot... Adjust to point of impact.

Did I break this sight somehow or is it fixable?

Thanks for the video. My X sight pro compass doesn't work and sometimes just gives an Err. My thor 4 hasn't had a problem.

Out of box new i charged overnight and when I push power nothing happens. The charger cord is fully seated. What can I do?

I've been thinking about one of these, either 14 or 20x. Not knowing much about them I have a few questions. Is everything you see through the scope electronic (nothing etched in glass)? Is the zoom electronic, mechanical or a combo? Thinking about how grainy the zoom will look at high magnification, 14 vs 20x, would the 20x zoom be more clear at 14x magnification than the 14x zoom is at 14x? (14x is a good magnification but if 20x shows clearer at 14x it may be worth buying the 20x to get that clarity). I've seen video of these and at 200 yards they seem worthless at night without some powerful light to light up the target area. What kind of light, type/power wise, does it take to make these scopes work well at, say, 300/400 yards? Hope this isn't to much of a pain but since I can't just go test them I want as much info. as I can get. Thanks so much!
Nothing is etched. Digital zoom. You will get some distortion at full zoom. Paired with a sniper hog IR light you'll be more than able to take a 300+ yd shot.
I own several 3-14x. I have no first hand use with the 5-20. Either would be fine
Near zoom should be considered as well else your field of view could be way too narrow and you can't find a moving target. Big diff between 3x and 5x in FOV.
My new atn thor 4 wont turn on. When it arrived I did the firmware update and it seemed to work fine for a couple days and then I tried to turn it in nothing happens. It clicks when I hold the power button down for 15sec but still doesn't turn on. If I plug it up to charger still nothing happens. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time.

I have problems with the ATN supplied IR light, is there a fix for this or do I need to install an after market IR light? Which one do you recommend?
I would recommend replacing it with a sniper hog light to get the full potential out of the scope. I have a coyote cannon. Works excellent

The sniper hog 66lrx or the coyote cannon... Both are available with 850IR Leds
I use the Coyote Cannon on my Wraith HD works great you can see a long ways with the Coyote Cannon.

I can make a video on the different lenses in the future. The lens size is dependent upon magnification and vise versa... What type of terrain do you hunt?
Open crop fields of Ohio. Primary target will be yotes out to 800yds, but would not take a shot over 200yds with AR .223 and plan on doing a SBR 300 blkout build suppressed.
I run the 640 2.5-25. Great scope for that type of terrain

Thinking of getting ATN 4K Pro 5x20, I see a lot of mixed reviews, my main concern is the how well you can see 500+ meters out.
Not very well, its tough to tell size and even shape at 300 yards, (250? Meters?

Hi I've got a request I will like to see a video on a full set up on a abl 1500 input like setting speed and scope hight and other info I know all rifles are different but it the basic info will help I've done mine and it still ain't 100 percent . Zero at 100 shot using the the ffp recital profile and tryed to aim with the green dot on cross at 200yards and it shot almost on cross and 300yards it was in-between the dot and cross any help with that will be good

Hello I have the Thor 4 hd thermal my after zeroing my scope the reticle are way off center its really bothering me any advice would be appreciated?
if you turn it off and turn it back on it should reset to the middle, did you dsave your settings and export to a sd card?

As I was researching entry level thermals I did see a few negative comments about Thor4 not working and another where ATN was difficult to get ahold of to resolve manufacturing issues. Have you heard of such issues? All other comments seemed positive and a good product..
Alot of people don't take the time to read the manual and they blame user error on ATN
I can't see anything at night and the ir light is on full power, is that normal with the crappy stock light?

My scope is full charge and has the external battery and it will click once when I hit the power button and will not cut on

How do you clear a error read on the compass? I have already tried the gyro or 3 way set up. But still have the error feed at the top center.
Updating the firmware, then manual compass calibration fixed mine. ATN walk-thru on RUclips helps not miss anything.
4k pro 3-14 - night vision is working at 10 yards - past that it is just white/black - infra-red illuminator is working and tried adjusting that and that is not the issue - any clue please

I’m having trouble with the audio lagging behind the video when replaying it. Didn’t have that issue initially then started doing it on some videos but not on others. Eventually started doing it on all rav but not on manually triggered videos then eventually started doing it on them. I updated to latest firmware didn’t help. I had a off brand Walmart 16gb card in it that had the rated specs from atn so recently swapped it out for San disk extreme pro 32gb high end card and still have same issues. Any recommendations to fix this issue?
Are you viewing the video on a computer or from the atn app? I also recommend a 16gb sd cars
From the app primarily. I viewed them on a computer by putting the sd card in it when I first had problems and had the same issue.

You stated in the video that ATN wants you to use an HC SD card but they just shipped it to me with an XC card. Does it really matter?

No sir
my screen went gray and malfunctioned after first 15 minutes of learning settings. Can't even turn it off, charge it, or connect to computer. Just gray snow screen. battery charge was 3/4 power. No functions work now.
Put sd card in now it works

One other quick question hopefully you could help or somebody else. I am using a Samsung Galaxy s20 and it will not work with the app I was told by ATN that they haven't figured out the s20 yet. don't know whether to believe them or not

Anyone else having a compass issue where it shows SMF no matter what you do. Even if I'm away from electromagnetic stuff.

hope you can help, Just got my new 4k pro last week , everything has been fine until this mornings hunt. The problem is when I record and playback there is no date or crosshairs. I have the correct firmware and did a factory reset. still the issue is there

ok, so I had it set on the 60, now I bumped it up to 120, the reticle works during nite mode playback but not in day mode, I now will try bumping it down to 60. get right back to u.

I’m having issues connecting to the app ,., Wi-Fi is selected the phone sees the scope but the app does not see it. any tricks that you know of

They are rechargeable. 16hr life... Plan accordingly.
