Just wanted to take a minute of your day and congratulate you on your progress. It really is refreshing to see your videos and watch you hike. My husband and I make it a nightly event to eat supper and watch your videos to catch up. I would buy one of your knives in a heart beat. Send me a message and let me know when you are doing them so I can support your dream. Enjoy the rest of your journey and God bless you each step.

Now that you're done with NJ, I'm surprised you didn't run into any bears. It's kinda what we're known for. Glad you enjoyed our state. Almost ran into you on Sunday. Really enjoying your videos, you are an inspiration

This is great. Closest part of the trail to where I live. I love hiking that section. Yes, it is Greenwood Lake. Not sure if you passed through Bear Mountain yet, but that's a fun section as well with all the bridges and stairs...

Make sure you stop in the lodge. It's a mansion sized log cabin, you can't miss it only 100 yards off the trail. Enjoy those ups today!!!!

Hello and thanks. Sorry about the knees. That has to hurt a good bit. Hoping the stiffness will work out as you move along. Might as well check out Florida while you can. Our drive in here at home shut down decades ago. Sad times for us young beer drinkers. Congrats on finishing up Jersey. Has to feel good knocking off entire states from your map. Spider webs across the face are always fun too. Maybe a pleasant morning dumping station is all Jersey had to offer. Not really I've seen some pretty views from others as they passed through Jersey. Thanks again for bringing us along with you and welcome to New York. You are making progress without a doubt. Well done.

That was the first Rebar ladder that anyone has bothered to show us that I'm aware of. It seems to work well. Timber Rattlers in Jersey. Would not have thought of Jersey as a snake heavy place. Congrats on the snack magic haul. That looked good. Fried pies and ice cream would be hard to beat I think. Carry on Red. We look forward to your posts around here.

You are doing great! You are a completely different person than the guy who struggled up the approach trail lol
You are a lean mean hiking machine!

That was the NYC skyline, of course, that you saw from Prospect Rock. The actual high point of NY State is over 5,000 feet and is in the Adirondacks, far away from the AT. In no other state is the AT so far from its real mountains.

saw my first timber rattler in VA just outside Pearisberg last year. A local told me the timber rattler will not usually rattle until you have pissed them off and they have already struck you. Don't know if that is true or not.

    • @johntuttle4486

Not true. A snake can rattle if pissed or just giving you a waring. Will not strike unless provoked.
