- There’s no better way to kick off Season 2 of the Pizza Show than at the International Pizza Expo, the world’s largest pizza convention which takes place in Las Vegas. From epic pizza ovens to acrobatic dough-tossing, you will literally find everything related to pizza under one roof at this event. It's our host Frank Pinello’s first time at the International Pizza Expo, and he’s not just an attendee-he’s a speaker.
Frank is determined to experience all that International Pizza Expo has to offer. He’ll meet with legendary Neapolitan oven-builder Stefano Ferrara, his longtime tomato supplier, Stanislaus; get a tour of the show floor from Show Director, Bill Oakley; and spend time with 12-time Pizza World Champion Tony Gemignani. Some people go to Vegas to gamble, but we go for the pizza.

My wife and I were there watching his speech at the pizza expo. We got up and left halfway through. His vocabulary is middle school level at best, and he was so self involved half of the words he spoke were pronouns. Worst speaker at the expo

Damn...watching a speech must be hard. I usually listen to the speech that someone is giving . But I am guilty of watching the guy giving it. Also I respect the fact that many people cannot go in front of a large crowd and give a speech, they sometimes do mess up because they are nervous but they still deserve the credit for doing it in the first place .

Sorry, but he does have a really weird accent. I can hear that, without speaking it perfectly myself. Also its unheard of, words like "grrrazia" and such stuff. And i even am a dutchman, who grew up in Switzerland.
Still, franks a very cool guy and i am a fan nonetheless. Never talks bad 'bout the peoples pride.(i hope his italian wasnt his)
He doens't know italian, but he knows a little of sicilian. It's like italian but has some spanish like talk and remark more the consonant.
But he is bad too in speaking sicilian, but at least he makes himself understandable!

I've worked in pizza for over 25 years from major chains to neighborhood hole in the walls. My best experience was with the independent tiny restaurants. Sure it was tough business but our customers were very loyal. Papa Johns flew me out to Las Vegas, what a show!

it's true. You are not supposed to sell when you're there to create relationships. They are there to build trust. With that, they will make future sales with existing and new customers.

I was at an event in Chicago that Joe Carlucci was performing at and he asked for volunteers from the crowd to come up and try. We went through a number of tricks that got harder and harder and people got eliminated. I got through to the end after doing the pass the pizza between your legs while lying on your back. I worked at Italian restaurants and pizzerias for years but he had no idea. He did more tricks in his show that I could never do but I was very proud that I could throw like a pro for a little while.
Bro this show is so underrated lol please bring it back. I literally stopped watching it b/c you guys stopped making episodes. Not my fault man, come on!!

Amen on the Big Chains speech. I moved to a tiny town that has mostly the big chains, and 2 local pizza shops that are carbon copies of each other. I mean their menus are identical. God I would love to open a pizza shop in this town just to shake it up and show people what pizza can be, and not just what it is.

I've been to the Pizza Expo five times so far. It is pretty fun! I recommend signing up for the seminars for sure! There is so much to learn about pizza and running a pizza business. Perfect reward to take hard working employees, good investment!

Might be a bit late, but I lived in the Stanislaus County in California and when I used to hunt out in the orchards out there for dove, I would take the Roma tomatoes used in your sauce and eat them like apples. They are perfect! Salt and pepper nothing more! Gun, Shells, Salt, and pepper, is what I would hit the fields with! Couldn't pick a better tomato to use for your sauce.
Hands down the best web documentary series on RUclips, also the host is so passionate about it, its just so entertaining and interesting.
