- Los Angeles might not be known as a pizza city, but our host Frank Pinello is ready to show you why it should be. The West Coast doesn't have a set of pizza "rules" as strict as New York's, so their freedom to experiment with toppings and style translates into delicious and unique pizza. From BBQ chicken pizza at California Pizza Kitchen to smoked salmon pizza at Spago, California pizza is all about the toppings. Los Angeles' food scene is diverse and delicious-and so is its pizza.

I have been watching the pizza show since 2 years myself, to the point where my pizza consumption radically increased after I saw Frank hosting the show. To this day I watch the pizza show every time I order pizza at home

Love how his voice got all "good boy" when he was at Spago. He was saying "Even the coffee is good son!" but in such a respectful way. Took his hat off and everything.... Frank may be an every man's man. No frills, what you see is what you get, and still his manners are impeccable.

I love Frank. Even though he's a New Yorker and an Italian, he embraces pizza from everywhere. It seems like he not only enjoys it but has an understanding of pizza culture as all-encompassing! Kudos!
Its his job. I'm sure he much prefers East Coast pizza than West Coast but when you're getting paid, you'll say/agree with anything.

You're assuming he eats like this every day I think. Pretty easy to manage high-calorie days like the ones on this show if you log and track your diet on the other days.

crazy american. Cant touch italina pizza at all.
Italians still eat the peasant versions of their food. Pizza is still almost universally just a tomato base with a couple slices of fresh mozzarella and some basil leaves. It's nice, but it's insanely simple and gets old quick. I prefer the experimentation of the Americans when it come to Italian food. They took something good and made it better.
Arthur Have you even been to italy? While they do not make New York or Chicago style pizza for obvious reasons, you can get some simple and yet really good pizzas in most of Italy if you stay clear of the tourist traps

Well said, the best part of food and restaurant business is innovation, and u must innovate to stay relevant. Like look at the food scene today Giant over the top milkshakes, giant unconventional sandwiches, this is how restaurants build a brand, and build a client base. None of which would be possible without innovation. No one really looks for restaurants who make simple by the book dishes. The fad currently is over the top mom conventional dishes and that's the way it's been for years

Frank Pinello is a legend to me. He's such a great host and even more amazing for giving us all this AMAZING pizza knowledge. So amazing this episode dropped today, because I've been watching the Pizza Show episodes all day by chance. It's like the pizza planets have aligned for me.
Frank is so grateful, respectful, and enthusiastic, and he does it all by just naturally being himself. I love every show I've ever seen him host. Rock on Mr. Pinello. Cheers.

I owe LA for launching my pizza career. From the east coast and lived there 11 years, got so sick of what they call pizza (along with hipsters like the dude at the start) that I started making my own for myself and regular folks.
Best Munchies host hands down. I'd love to see more of Frank in the future no doubt

Being from the East cost I lowkey always feel some type of way when I see different styles of pizza. Always appreciate the different styles & no doubt they all taste delicious but nothing beats traditional pizza to me

Their pizza is just so simple and old fashioned, I mean we make the same pizzas here and we call it the margarita pizza. It's the standard but it's definitely not the best pizza.

I love this show! Speaking from and Italian and from Italy, among other things I love how convivial the pizza servings are in the US. We are used to a whole (medium size) pizza for the individual, instead it seems you guys serve a bigger pizza which is sliced and shared....I really like that

Prime Pizza is incredible. I got it often at the Fairfax location, then moved near the Burbank location. Probably the best pizza in LA. La Monica's in Westwood is a great NYC style place too.
