I have the HS4 and can confirm that when it comes to listening to music, the Yamaha H3 to HS7 are only good for mixing! Top boxes. But for music there's definitely something else that hurts your ears. That's exactly why I'm exchanging the HS4 now. The Edifiers are simply much better when it comes to just listening to music.
A sound engineer said that you can make the R2000DB so close to HS5 by blocking the bass ports with socks or any cloth material i think and settings the both treble and bass dials to 9oclock. Wondering if you have tried that?
The Yamaha's sound more open and more detailed. They sound more real. Specially on the violins in the "Classical Mood" song. But they sound dry on the "Retrowave" song.
@@M_Huzaifah yeah i am planning to buy subwoofer hs8s... I already have pair of hs8 loll... Previously i thought only pair of hs8 is enough... But it seems now i understand, whichever u buy hs5 hs7 or hs8... U will still need to buy hs8s subwoofer to make the sound full range from deep low to high freq... N i want to experience the full range of frequency from very deep low frequency to very high freq fully to enjoy the full sound.. Am i right? Loll loll loll...
I wonder if you can turn the HS5 towards you when you want reference quality sound, but turn it towards the wall when you want more mellow / rich sound
Edifier is consumer speaker. Generally they are more colourful on their sounds with Eq been adjusted. But the Yamaha sounds great honestly, more clarity and punchy on the bass, flat response on each note. I tend to like Yamaha sound honestly as I've used monitoring headphones all my life. Honestly edifier coming out strong as they have been quite new in the audio industry. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Im dreaming this pair of Edifiers in total white coloured.... So difficult to compare... I think the Yamahas are more balanced and clear and the Edifiers also well balanced with a bit more volume of low frequencies...
What the heck happened. I put down some comments this morning how I felt Edifiers are a great deal performance-wise and now it has been removed? What gives?
Is the Edifier R2000DB good for gaming, too ? Any recommendation, either form Edifier or competition, that is less expensive without much loss in quality nonetheless ? Sick and tired of crappy speakers that people label as ´good enough´ for gaming. Next purchase must not have the ´gamers´ gimmick.
Thank you so much for your reply. Most people completely ignore audiophile questions related to gaming, adopting a blasé attitude. I wish there was a cheaper version with the same quality, but without Bluetooth, since I don´t need that and I noticed it makes Edifier products more expensive. The R1280T seems the best model without that feature, but judging from your videos that´s a ´different league´.
I had a set of logitech 5.1, they were ok. Always too boomy with the bass and never crisp enough in the highs/mids for me to hear speech during movies etc. Then bought a pair of cheap m audio bookselfs with 3" woofers as I didnt need that boomy bass. They were much better. Then I bought a pair of behringers with 4" woofers and the sound was better still. Finally I got the JBL lsr305 with 5" woofers paired to a schiit DAC and I spent days going over my songlist because it was like I had rediscovered music. Instruments were clear, sounds I never realized in songs were present. I think my current setup has hit the audio sweet spot for bang for the buck. I would have to be paying a lot more at this point to get the same jump in audio fidelity. There are much more expensive audio setups but I feel I've gone far enough down the rabbit hole 😂
Yes, I have been using my Edifier r1280db for almost 2 years now coupled to my PS4 via digital optical connection, the sounds are so crisp compare to my previous 2.1 set-up
Good work , i´m looking for new Speakers in Germany cost Edifier 239€ and the Yamaha HS5 319€. The difference is not really big but the price to. I am undecided :(
i have Creative Gigaworks T20 , for musik , gaming and movie , i´ve sell my teufel concept e450 digital the sound was bad. Thx for your answer and sorry for my bad english :)
It's because edifier has more bass. But, if you only listen to the details, specially on the mid , you will notice that edifier sometimes drags some details
Yamaha = clarity and realistic sound (better for studio mixing)
Edifier = warm sound (better for overall consumer listening)
Totalmente de acuerdo.
Yes I feel exactly the same.
And i dont work with music, just do it.
Un saludo!

Edifier is so much better(for my living room, pc setup, etc) yamaha is very neutral, ideal for studio and monitoring, i believe.

I've done the sock on my Edifier R1900TIII. It works!
Edifiers has dynamic mode which makes them more clearer. I have this model and I got them for like $150 abot 2 years ago, very nice speakers.
The Yamaha's sound more open and more detailed. They sound more real.

add bass subwoofer hs8s then u r all set up i think ? loll loll am i right ?? loll

Incredible comparison! :) Thank you.
Please compare Sony SS-CS5 with other speakers.
Which is the bezt for subwoofers
If i have an audio interface should i connect it to edifier 2k for music and entertainment purpose ?

Buenísimo video macho

What’s best for music? Vinyl and cd ? Thx
HS5 is too thin, really remind me of some AKG headphones like 701
Hmmm. Edifier powered speaker should be the right channel.
Edifier easily
all Edifier speakers sound warm
If you said they "sound worn out", I would agree.

Is it good for home audio setup for movie?
Edifier R2000DB with sonarworks is very killer monitor for the price
yes but you need the measurement microphone which costs 90$ or so
Gostei mais da Edifier.
Hi! Comparing the Yamaha hs8 with edifier s2000 pro which sound better?
I never tested HS8 so I can not give You my opinion
Thanks. Adn in comparison with the HS5?
For music listening S2000Pro hands down

R2000DB is great choice for gaming, one of the best at this price point. They are true speakers not some cheap gimmicks, You will love them

If You look for multimedia speakers rather than monitors for music production than ave the money and go for Edifier ;)
i have Creative Gigaworks T20 , for musik , gaming and movie , i´ve sell my teufel concept e450 digital the sound was bad. Thx for your answer and sorry for my bad english :)
inspiring middle east track: I hear clear bass on the edifier
Yamaha HS5 sound shrink or something missing

After listening this Waiting for the Edifier R2000DB... 👍
Are you from brazil? I'm selling my edifiers r2000db...
Yamaha better in detail and clarity
Edifier 🤘
I can hear more bass detail on the R2000DB but Yamaha is definitely more for a professional.
Yamaha HS5
Yamaha WINS !
HS5
Yamaha harsh no bass, worst monitors ever.(5 inches)
yamaha
Yamaha wins
The Edifiers suck...sounds like they're under water.
Adjust treble, bass & EQ on PC and done...
Could not go wrong with either
