We also helped Toyota make a better Z4
And we removed dipsticks
Not really sure why
even though we make some fantastic cars today
some of our drivers like to live in the past
and what a glorious f past we’ve had
this was the generation that stopped using turn signals
they didn't care about reliability
You either were a mechanic or had a friend who was
they didn't crash because driving was hard
they only crashed because they had more balls than a gumball machine
Every generation became
bigger
better
And Louder
we couldn't beat Britain in WW2
But we still got their cars

It's a funny joke, but... Ackchually, the dipstick was a common source of vacuum leaks. Removing it enabled tighter control of crankcase vacuum, lower emissions, and higher engine output.
@@rodgerk. It's a good explanation for their idiocy, there are a million dumb ways of increasing horsepower, that is one of them.
Weight reduction
As someone who used to work for BMW, I can certify this is all 10000000% true. The i8 was an incredibly fun car though, especially since I didn’t have to pay to drive it lmao.
we made some questionable decisions, like our supercar, which is pretty much slower than all our lineup, jess, even the X5

Yeah, what I hate about the car community is that some people will parrot the same criticisms about a certain car but refuse to listen to anything good about it. Also some people will either see cars as either top quality works of art or absolute garbage. At least be able to acknowledge the good and bad and just cuz the car has bad things about it doesn't mean you have to stop liking it.
i was expecting many reliability jokes and what i got was perfect. very nice video
lol they are made to fall apart after warranty but even Lexus doesn't have the reliability it once did as they all cut too many corners now.

@@DEVILTAZ35 absolute dogshit in myh experience with BMW...now I m just 26 and had a 325 d (f30 2014) as my first car, the care had 200k km when I bought it and 250k when i ve sold it. The engine itself had 0 problems because the previous owner(a guy just 2 years older than me) took care of it and I did the same, sure there were other consumables to replace but it never exploded or left me stranded anywhere , and it ran without problems even though I had a stage 1 on it.

These are mods, the files were stolen from other games or 3d model creators, then put poorly put together with bad handling, and crash physics. These low quality mods are only good for videos like this one. The crashes are quite an eye sore.

Only thing the f1 and m5/m6 v10 engines had in common was the number of cylinders
@@samsaasen4922 It was derived from the 3.0-liter P84/5 Formula 1 engine that powered the BMW Williams FW27 and was designed in the same way a Formula 1 engine wouldve been.
Wasn’t that the engine that made like 1300 horsepower when they pissed on it
Bmw also was an engine supplier in F1 for many teams back in 1982-1988.

E30, E36 and F30 all more reliable than E46 and E90

@@MsMarciax Wait I've been considering an M2, have you had issues with yours? I thought this was a good choice out of current lineup :) I currently have an M Coupe and have had E36 M3 and E46 M3.
@@VersanGetryx It's a OG 2018 version that I've had for a year now. Don't get me wrong with it's better reliability comparing to some of the other models and especially the hot V engine varieties. Lets start with it having a new pair of rear light clusters fitted before I bought it (I found out of the previous owner not the dealer). One of them played up a little a week ago with the fast direction turn signal blinking and Bulb out warning on dash. These are the LED clusters not the bulb ones that are notorious on these to play up with a internal short. I also have a knocking/ grinding noise on the left front wheel when going up a steep incline turning the wheel slightly right. The dealers checked it and said the couldn't find a single thing wrong with any of the suspension or wheels. No parking sensors on the front bumper (which hangs low) but there are ones as well as a reversing camera on the rear. It's going in for a service/MOT tomorrow so looking forward on the result. It is a damn good fun drive to say the least though.

Phuuuckkkk, this is so damn true. As a 1997 BMW Z3 owner, I’m now learning about servicing hydraulic lifters after having replaced my parking brake shoes and repairing my DISA valve actuator (unrelated but soooo many things to service on a 26 year old German car).
Also, you’re not a true BMW mechanic until you service DISA components. You’ll begrudgingly understand why they say German cars are over engineered.
