But the opinion for many does change after experiencing proper, good ceremonies (ofc never for those who don't give a chance to it but for those that do). Just came across this video and it made me cry, how wonderful to see the joy on those people who are there in Hyde Park cheer and shout out God Save the King, rain does not dampen the joy and happiness of the coronation of our King.
Lmao, love our people. It's like they're watching a snooker ball slowly go towards the pocket. "God save the King" from everyone was also very humbling
@@gtaylor178 Visible at several points during the trip to and from the Abbey. The huge screens seen more often, but the people were the mass of coloured objects below the screens at the park side of the Mall, both trips.

@@alanaw27 I was aware of the screens in parks around the country but I was wondering why these crowds were not shown `live' before and after the Coronation - maybe the rain soaked masses didn`t make for good telly?

I knew there would only be one, but I thought it would be gigger. They should have had more. The umbrellas were making it difficult for many people to see the one screen properly. At times, I simply pulled out my own phone and watched from there.
@@TimAlcoser such a shame , I do think The King thought not so many people would be there?? he was heard to say how amazed he was. The trouble with other people umbrellas is you get the drips off them on yourself.
Completely agree. People were yelling to "put your umbrella's down" up to the crowning because they couldn't see. Few complied. I was more than happy to sit out there in the rain with the rest of London and get soaked together.
I'm absolutely fed up to the back teeth hearing this. He said nothing of the sort. He said that knowing his luck, he'd be reincarnated as a tampon and be flushed away.
Gotta disagree on this one. I've watched Back to the Future many times at home. But it wasn't until I saw it at the Hollywood Bowl with a crowd of 18,000 diehard fans like me to live LA Philharmonic music that I realized what a completely different experience the ordinary is, or in this case, a true once in a lifetime experience.
I'm an American and I would have loved to be there to witness such a historical event. Watching it on television or social media is completely different than being able to experience such a historical and 1000 + old event live.
Sonny, if we Brits had stayed at home every time it rained, there'd be no Industry in the world, or good medicine, or good science, or TVs, or Radio, or Air Defence, or Slavery Ended, or Constitutions, Laws, Freedoms Enshrined, no Innocent til Proven Guilty, no computers or internet, no United States or Canada or Australia or New Zealand - in short, we'd all still be living like it was 1400 medieval Europe at best, or in mud huts or worse, around the world. Love us or hate us, but you owe us for everything that makes your life worth living, including your freedom to bitch at us over the internet we created on a PC system or it's derivative we invented - just as we Brits owe those who came before us and upon whose shoulder WE stand. All because we decided to go "out in the rain". Rule Britannia. And God save the King.
And yet they say the monarchy is dead ? It certainly doesn't look like it !
And in the park there, it's mostly young people.

Long Live King Charles of New Zealand.
How marvellous - free people freely deciding to come together to witness today's version of a medieval ceremony!
God Save The King
On the other hand, people in power in republics inflict medieval torture upon their citizens (subjects).
ian port not all the coronation is medieval, in fact most of it isn't
Ian port and yet here you are watching bits of it 🤣🤣
