- A mash up of Life Will Change and Pursuit ~ Cornered with the Ace Attorney soundfont! I've been wanting to make this for a while and had a lot of fun putting this together. I suppose you could consider this a sequel to my Whims of Fate cover. Enjoy!

Allow me to paint you a picture, of a hypothetical Ace Attorney game, that features the Phantom Thieves quite heavily. A murder occurred, and the police suspect that there was blackmail involved, regarding a secret that only the victim and the murderer could have known. The police arrested the first person they saw(as always), who in this case was a dark haired young man, who had refused to talk to Phoenix ahead of time, due to a strong dislike of authority. Unfortunately for both him and Phoenix, the young man also knows this critically important secret. Over the first half of the trial, Phoenix pieces together that this young man must be a Phantom Thief, and works to clear him of suspicion of murder, without revealing that secret. During a recess, he gets a call from the Phantom Thief Ali Baba, who gives him a hint. Phoenix clears the young man, and expects to never see him again. But of course, this would be just the tutorial case.

add onto this that the reason it functions as a tutorial case is that there's some weird interactions between an attempted mental shutdown directed at Phoenix and Mia's influence+the magatama, resulting in it being a bout of amnesia rather than death like normal

If we're still at the stage where Phoenix needs Maya to see locks, then he's doomed. There's no way he can figure out a black lock vault in the span of one trial.

Now I’m trying to imagine the logistics of a crossover between the two. Maybe it’d like the Layton game, you have do to palaces or other metaverse stuff to get clues and evidence, then take it to court and beat a trial.
I'm imagining a fan case like Turnabout storm (The one that was an MLP crossover), the devils attorney (A disagea crossover) and Operation Turnabout. (Original fanfic video series)
Where in this scenario Makoto takes up Maya duties and drags Phoenix to the metaverse to find clues during the investigation.
End of the case:

He is a defense attorney. Pretty famous in the world of law. He reached out to take your case. And after I've seen his records, I can say you are in good hands. Perhaps even the best hands in all of Japan.
Joker: I see. Well then, shall we get right down to it?
Sae: ...No. I'm sorry, but there's about forty more pages of dialogue for you to click through. More if you stop to look at everything. But some of it might be cute or amusing... will you really risk skipping that?

A Persona 5/Ace Attorney crossover would honestly be so cool. Sure, you would have to rearrange some things, like how stealing people's heart work but imagine like this:
Joker is already found guilty for assault and is currently staying at Leblanc. Phoenix is taking a vacation and chooses Japan. He "coincidently" finds his way to Leblanc, starts to visit it more regularly and obviously notices Joker more often than not. One day, Joker (who earlier heard Phoenix being an attorney) approaches him and begs him to defend a friend of his who us being accused of attempted murder. This obviously is the Ryuji-Shiho-Kamoshida story line. Roll the rest of the story. You can include Joker's ability to steal hearts as in that he can perceive the twisted truth inside certain person's hearts. You could even imagine the shadow rulers as some special type of black psyche locks since the shadows are the true selfs one tries to hide, even from themselves. And in court you carefully have to weak it until you break it, since the uncareful, forceful break of a black psylock leads to a mental shutdown. The final case could have Joker as the defendant again, who is accused of the murder of Haru's father. And because of his rough treatment in prison and because he fears for his friends' safety he isn't cooperating very well, maybe even forced to accept Phoenix's defense, only so that Shido could bring him down too.
This is so cool! The way you've laid everything out fits so perfectly. I can just picture it. The black psylock idea is really clever. I would love to play that.
With Atlus' and Capcom's history of crossovers, it would be great if it did happen. SMT:Nocturne has Dante in it after all.

This would’ve been an alternative reality if they did not take the treasure in the palace of the intro part of the game. It would be the longest case because all the incidents whos hearts have changed are associated with Joker.

The fact you’ve drawn him over Frank Sahwit is the best part of this cover.
This gave me idea for a P5 fanfic where Phoenix Wright defends Ren from Shido and prevents him from being send to Sojiro while also exposing Shido's corruption making he get arrested
This would also be kind of a bad ending, Kamoshida would stay in Shujin (i will not give the details of what would happen with this), Madarame would still plagiarize his pupils and eventually lead Yusuke to suicide, Makoto's relationship with Sae would get worse and she would be used by Shujin's director and etc.
The real Justice Arcana, Phoenix Wright and his Persona: "just Miles Edgeworth with an updated autopsy report"
I want everyone to remember that Persona 5 and the original Ace Attorney canonically take place in the same year: 2016.
THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE UNIVERSES CROSSED OVER.
And both Persona 5 and Ace Attorney 1 end their stories (main) around December. P5's final boss was defeated when it was "almost Christmas."
It's really good, but I didn't expect you to line up the beats like that. You should see how it lines up when you start the intense part at "phase"!

I'm extremely impressed that you so effectively remixed tracks with such different time signatures. The result feels almost like a swing rhythm, and despite messing with my head a bit from familiarity with both themes individually, it completely works. Fantastic work-and do forgive any improper use of music terminology, it's not my strongest suit.
Thanks! It was a tricky learning experiment, and I definitely could have improved some aspects of the timing but I'm glad people enjoy it nonetheless.
To resolve the case, Phoenix would need to enter the metaverse to investigate, and maybe the case could be IN the metaverse
