Window privacy film, also known as one way mirror film, can be applied to glass or plastic to add a highly reflective coating which reflects nearly all light.

Unlike typical window films, which are too transparent, window privacy film provides both daytime and nighttime privacy.
Benefits
To enhance window privacy, the most effective and affordable solution is the application of reflective film.
Once applied, the film will make the exterior side of the glass a mirror, preventing vision through the glass, while maintaining the view from inside.
While many window films provide a bit of daytime privacy, to achieve nighttime privacy you'll need a highly reflective film, like this one.
What is window privacy film?
It's a thin polyester laminate that incorporates several layers to control lighting properties, such as ultraviolet, solar heat, glare, and privacy.
While enhancing privacy, it also makes windows more energy efficient by reflecting sunlight.
It's also easier on the eyes, just like wearing sunglasses, and prevents distracting glare on televisions and computer screens.

Can you do this with mylar instead of vinyl?
Mylar sheet is much more reasonably priced for large sheets and is so reflective I feel of there is a way to use mylar instead I'd prefer to use that
Mylar isn't as transparent, and doesn't adhere to glass. The one way film is best for window privacy. Great question!
I always enjoy your videos about mirrors. I like your style and its entertaining and informative too. You just given me an idea for remodeling my kitchen cabinets. I to cut out the cabinet doors and add glass but rather not have it completely clear just opaque. The frosted window film you spoke about may just do the trick. Do you think it will work? Has it been done before?

How difficult is it to apply privacy film?
it's not difficult at all! Film application kits can be purchased at pretty much any hardware store. The hardest part in my opinion is cutting the extra pieces off at the end, but even that is still pretty easy!
