Shoutout to melisandre, ser beric and the dragons for giving us enough light to see this ep.
i swear she burned a kid then her mum hung herself...What a hero
Hahahahaha hell yeah 100% brightness isn't enough
@@titan7x7 lol not everyone is perfect
@@titan7x7 any of thlse who did nothing wrong made u able to see wtf was happening other than evil melissandre, baby eating dragons, and fire worshipping berric ?
I just rewatched it on my note 8 and it looked way better than my plasma at home.
Bran was watching GOT with us the entire time this episode.
🤣😂🤣🤣 with that same distant stare
ikrr lol he was legit just there dreaming by himself
Still 3 episodes left...don't count him out.
Remember, he was the one who gave Arya the Catspaw...in that exact location, under the tree...and it was with the Catspaw that Arya killed the Night King, in that exact location, under the tree.
I kept thinking he would warg into the wolf pack and help. I guess we get to see them later...
What the heck was he doing that whole time then though?! What were you watching?! Or doing!?
Nikhita Das 💀💀💀
Bro honestly I’m 8 beers in and I still have the anxiety I felt when the Dothraki got put out like birthday candles.
Hahahahaha u killed me
Dude. That whole first 30min was fucking scary. I jumped when the wall of dead suddenly appeared and then when they charged into the unsullied like a wave.
Well the Night King is really old
I feel you...
They were killed that fast. Imagine 40,000 of them and thwy were gone in just one snap and i said "oh no"
*If the Night King had just stayed home and watched Netflix, his army would have easily won this whole battle.*
This. NK being the only weakness of his entire army, why the hell does he exposes himself the entire battle ? Anyone could have just shot him with an arrow. He can control the dragon without riding it, right ? so why the hell did he even left that blizzard. Arya infiltrating him with her masks and sneaking skills (she could fight without seeing in the blizzard) or whatever would have been way better than this cheap knife trick.
Not rly no. If the night king had not been there to 2v1 Rhaegal and Drogon I'm pretty sure they wudve wiped out the army of the dead.
I think he can only resurrect the dead in a certain range so he needed to move with his army to get more undead
@@tanamango320 perhaps he has to be relatively close to his army to control it? Then staying far away in the open seems risky due to dragons and they're not gonna torch their own place or where Bran is. Idk
He should have watch the Endgame like Bran did the whole time. Plot twist: Bran is warging and watching Endgame.
They said no one can kill the night king and no one did.

Ha You are right!! No One! I jumped up clapping
No way Grey Worm, Jamie, Brienne, or anyone would have survived on the frontlines. It was a literal wave of dead soldiers slamming into them.
Also, RIP 99.999% of the Unsullied.
Delta exactly! It makes no sense.
Slaughter show
Isn't slaughter anymore

true that, but imagine how people would react if they wouldve killed em, almost everyone would hate on the writing cause they set up these characters for so many seasons just to die in the front lines

I was worried they kill themselves :/
I thought they were going to kiss
Everyone contributing to the group project whilst Bran is playing Raven Simulator 2000 smh.
he did contribute he was just watching things go his way
Good one
He foresaw where he needed to be, to get the night King where he needed to be, so that arya was where she had to be, to end it all. So no, he wasn't fucking around. He's the only one who knew what he knew
He probably learned a bunch of stuff, including the Night King's plan of action, which clearly was overwhelming to the humans. Bran might have some knowledge going forth with sorting out the crown and the kingdoms
at least he wasn't watching pron with his autistic powers
The Night King blew a 1,000,000 to 1 lead
fr.. he fucked that up
Right and for what? Killing a human encyclopedia? Just plain ridiculous. Why not use the 1,000,000 to 1 lead and simply just win.
Night King Was up 3-1 like the Warriors.
listen, sometimes you gotta die just for the drama of it all
Dude can win without even show up 😄

I would have put armor on him to protect against the witch kings spears and posted him directly (leaning) against a tower in the castle so that you basically have a fire spitting tower.*
I'm going to sleep now
hold my beer
They didnt even need the dothraki. Greyworm, gendry, tormund, brienne, and jaime killed like 2,000 wights each
The Hound even Sam Tarly got more kills 😂
yeah like they killed 10k atleast, shame it was "only" like millions left
The difference between not being trained and being trained
Hahaha and that too make sense for them😬😬😬
Sam the Slayer!!! Broke character for our enjoyment. What a lovely chap!
The whole episode I was expecting Bran to worg into a dragon and participate
Facts 😂
Instead his whole life and everything we've seen since his Raven Simulator journey are bloody pointless.
Dragons are too intelligent to be warged into.
I though he would worg into hundreds of crows and wild animals to attack the white walkers lul
Knight king ain't dead bran warhead the crows far out for a reason. The king king had the beat before he even set foot in the castle do why would he risk it all for bran?
Respect to the Mormonts....... RIP

Literally everyone: “Ok let’s just stand our ground here and wait for the Night King”
Dothraki: “LEERROOOOOY JEEEENKKIIINNSSS”
LOL ... yeah think of it this way, Jorah said back in season 1, "the dothraki follow strength above all else", and they saw how the NK's army was the strongest so they only went to join them. I can't explain that strategy any other way that makes sense.
What were they trying to accomplish with that charge?
88 King word
@@buxadonoff its the nature of Their fighting or how they fight actually
@@iampranta no It isnt, no cavalry would charge an infantry like that. The point of cavalry is to kill routing enemied, to flank or to harass infantry lines, not to front charge at a wall of zombie soldiers.. It would be just as dumb as to charge at a line of pikeman. You can see in lotr, a proper cavalry charge, on the back of a pinned infantry.
I always thought that Bran will "fly" (warg) into a dragon, but here we are, seeing him control some crows
True 😆😆😆😆😆 everyone fighting and he...flying around 🕊🕊🕊
he was participating in a safari show.....watching animals(dragon) slaugthering each other while people are busy protecting him
Think Bran was future seeing on what comes next after the NK war. Bran is still probably only capable of seeing premonitions in the future but parts.
it seems to me he used the crows to get some help from SOMETHING, i mean they got 0 army left and cersei have fucking 20k man and boats or whatnot, but oh yeah the iron bank will probably eat cerseis ass tho

Special thanks to the dragons who helped us by lightening the screen.
Seriously it was so dark and I don't have a nice expensive OLED screen
Bran was sitting playing around with ravens while everyone else was dying around him.
Right? What was all that “you need to be prepared for when the night king comes” set up for the last two seasons?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I honestly thought the ravens would bring him some knowledge to help fight.
I think they will explain that part later. He can't be that pointless right?
@@jaylewis1458 That is what I am wondering too. Because he was gone for long time. Poor Theon was fighting for some time. Did he secretly help Arya somehow?
I think most of Bran's work was before the battle.
After watching this episode, Jorah summed up how I felt: "I'm hurt. "
I felt so sad, about his fall.
because dany told him as he died that she loved him. like an older brother.

I'm glad they finally put Capt Friend Zone out of his misery. 😂😂😂
Jorah was my 2nd favorite character, after Big Boi Tyrion
I think Eddison Tollet couldve survived if Sam didn’t spend the whole time on his back screaming
Turns out it's good to have sex before a battle
Losing your virginity before a battle apparently means ending the whole thing.
Does it feel like Arya has been the focal point of the first two episodes and now the third?
I guess Bronn was right sex really does clear ones head for the next fight
@@justinbowers2749 Looks like. Gendry did survive as well.
Bronn had a point
When Sansa said Tyrion was the best one of them, she didn't mean people she knew in general, but out of 3 of her husbands. Come on, she's been married to Ramsay and Joffrey.
But she ain't been married to Joffrey.
She never married joffrey
Agatha Ruiz she never married Joffrey she was going to be.

HAHAHA 👏🏼
Lol seriously. Arya just comes out of nowhere and stabs the Night King and he dies just like that? That easily? His death was so underwhelming and anti climatic. Especially considering how much he was hyped up throughout the whole show.
@@erinm6830 with all those hype over these years... He was simply killed😐

That motherfucker was completely useless lol what possible advantage would the NK have wether he lives or die?
@@kickassguy211 He is the memory of all that happened in the ASOIAF world, if he died it would have been game over
You may not be able to walk but you will fly - the Raven I don’t remember the quote specifically.
He was following the night king controlling the crows , since the night king can see Brann at any time because of the mark on his arm, he blinded Night king by let him watch only what he already knows like a 3rd view camera of himself.
Bwahahaaa!!!
The dothraki charge made me so angry. Wights don't get scared of screaming dudes.
And why would you send 1/4 of your troops running head on into death when you could have flanked them, or even just kept them back somewhere for a bit... stupid. The fire going out was an insane scene.
Cloudsurfin Skywalkin Jon is a great battlefield commander. He wouldn’t have let that happen because it was suicide
Cloudsurfin Skywalkin I agree, they should've launched their long range trebuchets and catapults first. Since their dealing the unkown they should really make use of their artillery.
*ONE, (1), SINGLE, goddamned trench.*
*No baffles, no empty moat, no fire breaks, the ballistas fired a single round even after all the dothraki are massacred*
*the entire episode was bullshit.*
@Steve Klemetti
*yeah, with Tyrion there, that's one of the FIRST things I would have negotiated for after the ceasefire, was a shipment of wildfire barrels. "but no", Cersei wouldn't have come through, same way she didn't send her army, "BUT",...and this is MAJOR. Cersei had the sand vipers in her dungeon. One of them was undoubtedly dead by then, but the other could have been released. If Dorn sends troops, that's a few thousand more men for the fight.*
Max Steel and yet all those things didn’t happen and Westeros still isn’t technically real... so... 🤷🏿♂️
Anyone else confused that not a single White Walker fought or did anything? Like the Night King controlled the entire army and the White Walkers sat there. In Hardhome we saw them fight. Just felt like they were wasted.
ask Dan and Dave. they wrote this and did the story board.
Would you send your generals to battle when they can manage the troop ?
That was one of the only coherent thing of the episode imo.
Also what about the giants? we saw one and it fucked them up.
I was thinking the same thing. Hmm....
if they fight they risk losing numbers
People wasting years making up crazy theories just to have this magic plot armor cancel it all out. Lol
The author Martin was reading those theories and he tried to dodge them and rewrite, so he possibly made the ending not so predictable. Though this show is only in cooperation with him and main directors are other people who might change the storyline to their liking since this events are not in books yet.
@@MatejSunavec GRRM hasn't worked on the television series since S5 bud.

The dathraki's fire swords slowly going out while the tempo of the beat rises is one of scariest scenes I’ve ever seen.
One of the few great things about the episode.
And one of the stupidest plans I`ve ever seen...
Juliano Pirelli well we have to consider that nobody knows how to fight the wights and white walker. They didn’t know it until they got countered.
I was so hyped during the first 50 minutes but one plot armour kicked in and Arya became John wick I lost interest
I was shook.
This military logic used in this episode was just hilarious. Build catapults just to fire a single volley. Send in your cavalry (probably your best warriors) without proper bearings to have them slaughtered. Flanking maybe wouldn’t have worked because the dead have no self preservation instincts but you don’t send your best fighters blind into a battle. No scorpions with dragon glass projectiles to target the white walkers. No hot oil that can be dropped from the wall and be set on fire. Woefully undermanned wall, the only thing that’s keeping you alive. For some reason all the special weapons Gendry forged vanished. Negligible number of archers. The dragons were used in a random manner instead of them being used to create fire walls that’d divide the ranks of the dead. And what an ending the most powerful being in that world had, even Robert had a better death than the night king, makes me pity that a character as savage as him had to go in such a SJW way.
How is it SJW?
When the Dothraki flames went out..... I was like😱 Bleep
I WAS SHOOOOOK
As soon as they got lit I knew they were going to go out straight away for dramatic effect.
It was like a chistmas gone wrong
@@number1gstar yeah tactically speaking absurd, but i guess they save on horses and it did have a good horror effect
That was just f-ing moronic. And Jon and Dani were just farting around on the mountain and in the clouds.
Much as I loved this episode, the Dothraki literally charging at an enemy they couldn't see annoyed the hell out of me. Such a stupid waste.
I thought that too. Good idea, split your army up and send them piecemeal....instead of keeping your army together??
Also a force know for bow skills...
Cavalry are most effective at a full charge though. They couldn't afford to be on defense..
The Dothraki charged at enemies the audience couldn't see. Why was the episode so freaking dark???
The long NIGHT
Jaimie: I am the kingslayer.
Arya: Hold my beer 🍺

Arya: am DeathSlayer
Jamie: No one can beat the Dothraki in open field combat
Night King: Hold my beer

Most unsatisfying episode from the series so far. All this buildup for nothing. No crossing swords with Jon. No fiery sword. No Prince That Was Promised.
Can't believe you think this was a good ending for the battle with the Night King.
Hes dishonest cuz his channel is about GOT
@@gingfreecss3467 there are a lot of youtubers, whose channels are about GoT, who are very pissed off at the mishandling of the fight with the Night King.
I'm just shocked, because Harpy here has been all gloom and doom and "they will all die" and "the kings will rise" all week leading up to the Long Night episode, and then this huge dump happened... and he loves it?
I just don't get it, how he could love this when they just took a huge dump on the fans and wiped their arses with the lore. :/
viridian because hes a big youtube channel. And those other ones are small. They can afford to be honest. Harpy wants to show he has unconditional love for the series so that his viewers can cope
I hate how almost all of the main characters could fight 1000 undead, and still be alive, plus I wanted to know more about the Night King and Melisandre's past, but it seems that thats it for them.
Actually, there are still some episodes left along with prequels and the books (already written) that the show is based on that can give you all that information. Also,GRRM is still writing the ending in his books that he claims will match the show's finale story. If you are that curious.
Bvb wird trotzdem nicht meister
Sky Walker Not much of that information and the show is an adaptation, it doesn’t get an excuse of “its going to be in the books”

I'm pissed that they're making Cersei the ultimate villain. Like, how tf you gonna build up the Night King this whole series and then just brush him under the rug. No WAY Cersei or Euron or the Golden Company is stronger than the forces of the undead army and their everlasting winter
Well now they have only a hand full of soldiers as Cersei has 2 armies worth and scorpion bolts and maybe wild fire they are also going be hurt by the fact they lost some great fighters
They are now that 80% plus of our forces are gone.
You could say the same thing about Cersei if they killed her first.
Dani will be the ultimate villian still i believe
It is called 'Game of Thrones' not 'Game of the Long Night'. For me it makes sense that the NK is not the final boss.
I genuinely don’t understand how people can be satisfied with this ending
This episode was epic, what did you excepted more??
aldo myzyri I enjoyed watching a majority of the episode it’s just I thought that the very end of it, specifically the death of the Night King, was lacking. His arrival has been anticipated since episode one and yet, despite being characterized as a seemingly indestructible antagonist, he was taken out so easily. Not to mention Jon (who has encountered him twice and has essentially orchestrated the various efforts against the dead) wasn’t even the one facing him, which, to me was a huge letdown.
It has split the fanbase clean in two. With bookreaders/hardcore fans being more dissapointed imo.
There is 3 episodes left, this wasn't the ending.
Because people are in denial that something that they are heavily invested didn't exceed or live up to their expectations. They don't want to believe that all the time that went into watching the show was for nothing.
Thought the night king' s death was far too early. Built him up as the main enemy, to get killed off that quick with still a lot of unanswered questions
Not really, there is only 6 episodes so they have to get to the next battle for the throne as in Game of Thrones. Don't get side tracked. Actually, the Lannister's were built up as the main enemy, killing off the Stark patriarch and the NK was a problem "in the North" to be dealt with.
@@skywalker6648 just my opinion

well, what do you expect them to show for an unlit open field? they (soldiers at the front) were unable to see what's coming until the wights overwhelmed them. I found the lighting very apt for the night especially when they showed the flaming arrows are not working because of the wind though once in the castle you can see what's going on!

Magic

If you replay the moment, she’s wearing a face
the undead are under the night kings command. he clearly ordered them to stand down when confronting bran & theon. as for his commanders, they had awareness of their surroundings, so arya mustve snuck through the army. doesnt explain why she was jumping though lol.
A lot of people are going to think they could write better stories than the showrunners.
And rightfully so
I've already seen a 100 better ideas in the comments section.
can't please everyone.
I think the writers are also able to see all the plot holes, contrivances for convenience, and illogical meanderings that the audience can see - rather I blame all of that on poor production. Everything was abbreviated for the sake of expediency, so remember this when confronted with yet another subscription-based revenue model like HBO (or World of Warcraft for that matter.) At some point there is no longer an incentive to emphasize quality when the audience can be counted of for commitment and loyalty (which is my polite way of saying that the audience is now "captive.")
@@mish_elle1450 yes, and they just went "meh, we can't please everyone anyway, so why bother trying? Just do whatever and be done with it"

Plot armor all the way . Sam was surrounded by wihht when jon passed by him. He should have died 4 times

This sums up exactly how I feel about it. I enjoyed the episode quite a bit, and I really do think that D&D did the absolute best that they could with what skills they obtain. It's common knowledge that the dynamics of the story completely changed when the show went on ahead of GRRM's books. It's not the GRRM Game of Thrones story that we have come to revere so highly above all others. However, it is still a story that is much better than most. GRRM's writing truly has spoiled us, and honestly I question how anyone could bring this grand epic tale to a close in a way that will satisfy most ASOIAF fans. I expected to have my heart completely torn out last night, because that is what would have happened if GRRM had written it.

No battle between Bran and NK even though they are so powerfully connected?
Does Bran ever go back in the past to change events which would have led up to what is happening in the present?
Such wasted potential.
The writers tried to pull a GRRM by changing things and making very unexpected plot holes all by themselves with no guide from books or author and gave us the typical good guys win with a surprise last minute attack from behind.
Lightbringer and Nysa-Nysa aren’t even a thing in the show. The night king wanted to kill everyone and Bran to erase humanity which is exactly what the children of the forest created him for. It’s game of thrones not white walker battle! It’s most likely completely different in the book. The main fight is for the throne, the night king was a storyline and this was the end of it.

Aya loses everything in westeros and sails to Bravos, to become a faceless woman, to train under the servants of the many faced god (death).
Season 5
Aya loses herself, her identity (hides needle, her last identity thread as Arya stark)
Practices how to be clever, how to read lies, how to walk quiet and stalk. Loes sight.
Season 6
Aya becomes a faceless woman, kills the wight, literally overcomes the god of death by becoming more powerful in battle than it's servants. Gets needle and goes back to westeros, now a powerful assassin capable of stealth and face changing magic.
Season 7
Kills the freys using above described skills. Giving back the lives the freys stole from the god of death. Arya is serving here the many faced god without even realizing. also kills little finger.
Season 8
Sneaks up on Jon who says "how can you move so quietly I can barely hear you"
You need any more foreshadowing?
Arya has had the closest relationship to death, more so than any other character. Her story was about how to beat death since season 1.
I believe jon's story is not over tho, while arya's arc has been completed. He has the Targaryen linieage problem, that's always been his biggest plot. Not the night king. He gathered all the armies and brought the dragon queen north, if you look at it from this perspective, he was as important as Arya for the victory.

Current flaws:
-Dothraki Cavalry: they should have been positioned on the flanks, once the dead attack, have the Dothraki ride in from each side and clear the wights.
-Catapults: only used for one volley which served as a great cinematic experience but no military purpose whatsoever. Should have been positioned closer to the walls of winterfell and used to mow down wights.
-Knights of the Vale: what happened to their cavalry? Also, we are told how well they fight in the snow, the best essentially, yet they all get taken down pretty quickly. Even the unsullied lasted longer and they're from the East who have never fought in snow.
-The Unsullied: why didn't they have a more tactical formation, get into a push, attack, push, attack rhythm like in 300.
-Archers: more archers needed to be stationed on the walls, just like the elves and men all stationed up on the walls and behind at Helms Deep.
-Walls of Winterfell: where were the barrels of pitch to light when the dead came crawling up the walls.
-Dragons: should have made more strafe runs burning the front line of wights running, which would effectively stop the wights behind as well.

For those who were disappointed, take this perspective. Killing the night king wasn’t physically difficult, it was getting to him. We all knew that if he had been struck with dragon glass or valaryian steel he would die. So it makes sense that the night king avoids 1v1 combat. It was a team effort to kill the night king. Arya just got the final blow. Jon and Dany got him off the dragon, bran lured him in, Arya killed him. They lost many and paid a significant price.
