Thank you for watching - certainly a good one. I thought it might feel a bit manufactured but not at all. A highlight of the year. Just annoyed with myself for not getting to it earlier.
Thank you, Art Gallery Explorer, for this epic show by an obviously brilliant Artist. . . I’ve watched this video twice, and am really struck by the beauty and range of skills involved in this exhibition! Though I took notes, afraid I haven’t the energy to comment further on individual series within the show, though I do have a (polite) request : I know video editing is no small thing, but is it possible to give us 2 or 3 more seconds to read your screen texts? (I’m a fast reader, but could never quite finish them.) As I am in the U.S., would never have been able to see this monumental show in person, so thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing me this privileged viewing! Ciao for now. . . .
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I can certainly try that re the work labels. They are currently four seconds but can extend to, maybe, 6?? It's always great to have feedback.
Hi again art gallery explorer. Top presentation on your part as usual. More power to this artists elbow for presenting + highlighting his cultural history so well.
❤i went 3 times to see this exceptional exhibition. My introduction to Tavares Strachan was his installation in the forecourt of the Royal Academy of Art breathtaking. So seeing that he had an exhibition at the Hayward Gallery and a friend spent 3 hours in the gallery had a coffee break in between to process what we had seen. As it was the first week of the exhibition it wasn't busy at all so we booked to see it again and it was slightly busier. The 3rd trip was very busy and I so appreciated the fact that we were able to fully immerse ourselves in the artworks in the earlier visits. That said we were pleased that people were in attendance. I lost my mind in the bookshop so I have physical memories of the exhibition 😊 Thanks for the excellent review
Awesome. It is definitely in my top 10 of the year and I can't believe I didn't go until the end of the run. I definitely needed a second visit. Three is good going and I bet you got different things out of it each time.. It's interesting that, from your experience and mine, it seems a word of mouth hit that grew in popularity. One of the most 'Londoner' audiences this year.
Never was I to interest myself in art but watching this vlog and the work of Tavares Strachan has changed my whole perception…. And as an African African this is so rich for me…. From Uganda
Thank you for watching from Uganda! That is great to hear. An epic show indeed, full of power. Do check out my review of 'Entangled Pasts'. Strachan has a very important piece in it.
@@artgalleryexplorer yes - and it prompted me to purchase the catalogue which is a very well produced publication …. which I thoroughly recommend to your viewers.
It’s been fabulous watching this and thank you much for the vlog and proper coverage of Tavares Strachan. He redefines art and creativity with so much work behind the scenes! I can’t thank you enough
Thanks for sharing this excellent exhibit which I only heard about yesterday , from Lesley , a fellow host volunteer at Tate Modern , and gave me a perspective from your efforts to capture it all . I saw his work at the courtyard of the Royal Academy, which was really impressive, especially when the sun shone on it ! Cheers for all your contributions to enable us all a chance to view art that we can or cannot see for ourselves .
Thank you so much for commenting Lester, and huge apologies for the delay in replying. I am glad it gave you a chance to see it. I will be looking forward to seeing the Turner Prize at TB in a couple of weeks - have you managed a sneak peak yet?
Great exhibition, really breathtaking.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting. The exhibition turned me into a big fan. Such diversity of practice and stunning realisation of ideas.

I did not miss it - it's in my top ten definitely.
It was terrific, wasn't it!? So hard to successfully fill that space and yet he did it. Lots of intriguing shows coming up in London this Autumn too.
