Just found your vlog. (I think that's what they call it!) I loved it! Going through VA disability myself but using VACI. Expensive for sure. I know I needed help to navigate the how to get it done. Been out of military 24 years, retired AF. Didn't know I could still apply for disability. Looking forward to listening to your journey. Take care.
I’m the old Marine and retired firefighter Mike mentioned. I didn’t know I had VA benefits. One of Mike Z’s videos got me to go to VA medical center earlier this year, and they gave me my card. Have since had many procedures done there. Which reminds me…Mike you’re 58. Get a colonoscopy. They’ll even twilight you and you can watch it in real time. At Ease. Carry On.
Mike Z driving video? I'm all in. What's the strangest thing you've ever seen driving in LA traffic? Love your reactions to the knucklehead drivers too. Hilarious. Good luck with the VA stuff. I'll bet it goes your way.
There's something crazy just about every day, from cars upside down on fire in the middle of the highway to naked homeless people walking down the middle of the street
Love your stories. It's amazing how bad we can ruin things so much, just by how we were raised and doing what we're told to do. Ironically, I'm having trouble with an exterior threshold right now. The cement stoop is angled away from the door, but it is worn and bumpy., and lacking an overhead gutter. Is it the rain bouncing off the unevenness and toward the door with water coming inside, or could it be something else? There is a step-down, it's not level.
mike navy vet here living in ct im in the system and they have helped me so much im lucky im in between 2 vas one north of me in newington the other in westhavenboth within 20 miles good luck to ya semper fi
My dad went through years In the air force And got out on VJ day. My mom would never let him get hearing aids because she said you weren't in the war. We come to find out That he could have got all the VA benefits for years.
Progressing with the VA is a good thing. As you stated you had low expectations so anything up to 100% will be a bonus since you started at zero. Dealing with a bureaucracy is tough but with the Feds it is like climbing Mt. Everest without oxygen. It sounds like you are getting some sound advise and counsel so let’s be positive that there will be a favorable outcome. Maybe soon some of these demons will be placed on inactive status and you can fully concentrate on more pleasant endeavors.
Sounds like things are progressing with the VA. Since you have zero expectations with the possibility of getting a decent rating it might end up as a major plus for your future income. It also looks like you are getting some good advice and mentoring in navigating the Federal bureaucracy . It you have PTSD you have been treating yourself over the years when you see things that trigger an episode and find ways to mitigate a negative outcome. Grew up tough and still able to remain somewhat calm in adversary says that you can keep the demons in check in my opinion. 👍🇺🇸
I’m sorry you had that experience in the service. Get everything you are untitled to. We owe are veterans everything and illegals nothing. Hope everything works out for ya and God bless. 🇺🇸⚓️👍
Thought the Marines made you able to withstand hazing and criticism, aren't you supposed to be "rough and tough and take the hardships" hell we learned that in Boy scouts 💪🏼💪🏼
VA has a lot of changes been made you can get a veteran I.D card, you can get base privileges and they will help you as long as you have DD 214 you should be in the system, they will find you in the computer take advantage of the VA.
They call the guys that help you out with your claims VSO ask the VA about it they should help you out, stay away from those guys that say they can help you out on your claims their veterans ripping off veterans don't go there, stick with the VSO and the VA.

Don't beat yourself up. They might've lied, or it might've been a policy change.
