      Pancreatis is the worst ! My doctors told me to quit drinking. I replied i don't drink so they said they would send me to rehab ! Omg. Turns out because of an injury at work I took too much ibuprofen for too long . I'll never touch ibuprofen again ! And I now make my drs give me actual pain pills instead of letting them tell me to use tyelenol, ibuprofen or aspirin.

    I had gallstones (gallbladder) that caused pancreatitis in Easter 2016. Terrible pain over a week. It got so bad I rushed to The VA Medical Center (military veterans hospital 🇺🇸) where the next day they removed the gallbladder (and gallstones). I was on antibiotics for a week and pain killers. I went home after 2 days. It took a month before I was back to normal.
    I never vomited at any time but the pain was severe before the Endoscopy and removal of the gallbladder. I never had to wait in the ER (emergency room) but
    was immediately brought up to hospital bed and taken care of. The U.S. Veterans Hospital (serving military veterans and families) saved my life as I had a systemic infection , too

    First minute of the description of the pain and I immediately thought either pancreatitis or gall stones. Both are absolutely excruciating (suffered both), will cause vomiting, and there is no body position or remedy you can do to make the pain go away other than to withstand the waves of pain and contractions. Many women who have had either one say its worse than childbirth. Hope your health improves and things are on the upswing.

    I am praying for you recovery, Marie. All of your fans love you. From your description of symptoms I would have suspected pancreatitis right off. I have had biliary pancreatitis twice, triggered by gall stones that blocked the bile duct through that organ and allowed bacteria from the colon to infect the organ. That's how I recognized the symptoms. I prescribe antibiotics for any infection and mom's loving cooking. Stay away from too much animal fat until you recover, and no sugar or carbs.

      I too have had pancreatitis triggered by gallstones. Unfortunately for me I was on the first day of vacation and was in a small town in Florida. I went to a tiny hospital (I got lucky because the waiting room was empty, so I got seen ASAP) and was hoping to get some pain meds and sent on my way. I ended up on Dilaudid to control the pain and shipped off to a larger hospital in Alabama. They put in a stent to relieve the blockage, I’m sure they probably gave me some meds to and the pancreatitis cleared up after a couple days. To top off my vacation I had surgery to get my gallbladder removed. All and all I spent four nights in the hospital. When I got home I had the stent removed and following it I was sick as dog, not sure if I got a bacterial infection from the hospital but fortunately it cleared up after a few days. Not the way I would advise someone to spend their vacation, but in a weird way I was lucky because being admitted to the hospital was cheaper then doing that outpatient. Enough about myself Marie your in my prayers! And I really hope things improve in the coming weeks!

    • @michaelhoran407
      @michaelhoran407 Год назад

      Pancreatitis is one of the most painful diseases there is. Absolutely no alcohol, period. Did they remove your gall bladder?
      They might have to do a laparoscopic surgery to clean out your pancreas to remove any blockage in it, gallstones, and crud in it.

    • @jennifercrosdale5391
      @jennifercrosdale5391 6 месяцев назад

      I am a dietitian in the U.S.and I agree with staying away from fried foods, high fat meats, and process sugar even when you are feeling no pain. When you are having a flare-up, only drink clear liquids until the swelling in your pancreas goes away. I also recommend that you take prescription enzymes like Creon, Zenpep, Pancreaze, Ultresa, Viokace, or Pertzye. They need to contain all 3 classes of enzymes: protease, lipase, amylase. I also recommend have a glucometer (blood sugar monitor) at home since having pancreatitis can increase your risk of developing diabetes. Check your blood sugar once a month to keep an eye on your trends. I'm so sorry for your medical drama and I hope that you can keep traveling. Your videos are so good.

    My gallbladder failed right about seven years ago, on February 14th. A gallstone blocked my pancreas and caused pancreatitis, so I had those abdominal pains - felt like someone stabbing me in the back while being punched in the stomach.
    My uncle lived nearby, so I went to his house, and he drove me to the nearby clinic. They did a urine test and a blood test, and told me to go to the hospital. We went to the hospital, and by the time I finished the paperwork (30 minutes), I was in the back being examined by a couple of doctors. About three hours after going to my uncle's house, the doctors had diagnosed the gallbladder failure and the pancreatitis, and put me in a private room on a liquid diet to stabilize. On the third day, I was meeting the surgeon, and she did mention that it was possible I could wait a bit for the surgery if I avoided fats in my diet, so I went home (I had _just_ started a new job two weeks before, and my insurance hadn't started yet).
    A few weeks later, and I hadn't been very good about avoiding fats. I went to work doubled over in pain, and they called an ambulance. Immediately assigned a room to stabilize on a liquid diet, and midnight surgery. (I think they said the "number" on my pancreas was a little over 6,000?) I was released from the hospital the next afternoon. I took two days off to heal because I had a very physical job lifting heavy boxes. One of my coworkers welcomed me back by tossing me a 50lb (23 kg) box. Hit me right on my surgery scars, of course.

    Glad to hear you are doing better. I think I beat cancer last year, so I understand the fear of the unknown part. Take care of yourself! Peace, Love!!

    Oh, Marie!! Sounds like you have really been ill. Glad you are feeling a little better. Hope you continue to improve, and that the Drs can be more definitive on the cause, and help you be 100% well again. ❤🙏🏻

    Several years ago my son's girlfriend had pancreatitis and she spent a few days in the hospital. She stayed at our house for a few days to recover before she was ready to go home.
    I'm glad to hear that you're doing better. REST! Your body needs to have time to recover. Don't feel bad that you aren't doing a lot because your body needs time to heal. I hope that you feel 100% soon 💐

    Your case in America in a hospital would be seen 15 minutes wall to wall. You simply show at the ER, they take one look and immediate room, fast check and vitals, you’ll do tests, and admission quickly. And boom you’re be in surgery likely in a hour or a room depending. But hospitals believe that it’s better to treat people quickly and it’s easier that way.

    I am so sorry you had to endure this Marie. Years ago I had a young colleague at work who suffered pancreatitis much as you have. He had the same healthy lifestyle as you and it just attacked him out of the blue. All the best for a continued recovery and I look forward to seeing more from a happy and healthy Marie in the future. Godspeed.

    Get well soon Marie. It sounds like you’ve had a really tough time, but please…no need to apologise about anything. Concentrate on yourself for a while and fingers crossed, this will all soon be behind you. By the way, you are such a great storyteller! I was on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next. That is what makes your channel so great! Take care, big hugs from the UK 😘
