Life on the Rock... Whole Grilled Mutton Snapper (Catch/Clean/Cook)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 сен 2024
- It took us a while to get this episode edited but back in June 2022 we had a great day on the X3 bayboat. We went fishing for mutton snapper and caught a few nice ones, two of them on the mini rod! We also caught some yellowtail snapper but the highlight of the trip was grilling the snapper whole and sharing it with our friends at Bud n' Mary's Marina. Enjoy!

Great video fish cooked whole skin and all is the best
Thanks 👊🏻
I agree cooked fried broiled whole is best and no waste
This right here is why your channel blew up! That is such a cool way to show off Bud and Mary's, just wallking around and giving everyone fish. That is one big happy family you have there at the marina.
Thanks! Noted
I've been watching you for a few years. I am a disabled Veteran. Your shows is what gets me through my day. We come to the keys every year with our boat and been meaning to stop by my wife and I. I would love to meet Mike as well being that I'm from Jamaica. Keep up the good work Nick.
Thank you for your service! Hope to see you at the marina one day . Appreciate you watching the show
I hope you make it to Bud and Mary's. Take the boat out!
I don’t know his relation to you, but Charlie is such a good addition to your channel really has a positive dude good vibes
Thanks! He’s a long time friend!
sassy and classy and tasty fish video
Thanks 👍🏻
I love how the thumbnail says “whole grilled mutton snapper” but Sarah said “because it’s my fish I want ceviche, we grill to many fish” guess she wasn’t sassy enough and didn’t get that ceviche🤣🤣🤣 when you clean a fish with a power washer, do it at more of an angle so you really get under those scales. Awesome video guys!
Thanks for watching 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙂🙂
Great video, enjoy it a lot, hope you visit your Marina when I next Key West
Thanks! Stop on by
Capt. Nick, good video. Capt. Sara did a great job. Keep them coming.
Thanks Ross!
Good times, great sharing!
Thanks for watching : )
Great job!! Love that Sara. I'm a old conch and wish I had a daughter or daughter in law just like her. Love those kids to!!
you two know what being together is all about dont stop
Trying 🙏🏻
We will be down Memorial weekend with our 24-foot Blazer Bay. I can't wait!
For sure cooked whole is the way to cook them
🙌🏻
@@StanzFam You're welcome happy to take the time to watch your video
That dude's a naughty boy eating the eyeballs. Sheesh
😀🙌🏻
Mutton on the mini rod was epic
It was fun! Thanks for watching
I effing love this channel!!
Appreciate it!
Great video, always watching your video friend
Thanks! Appreciate it
That looks like so much fun. The older I get the more I love this kind of fishing.
Always a good day on the boat (almost) but definitely a good day when the fish bite
@@StanzFam Catching them on the noodle rod is way cool!!
Nice work on the Muttons with a Bass rod. Love that sweet cheek meat. Especially if they come off some nice Snooks.
Cheek Meat 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great video! Very fun seeing all the locals, yall have a blessed life! Enjoy!
Thanks for watching : )
glad you saved this one for us. Great video
Micky C
Appreciate it Micky!
The first time I saw this quick method from Sarah in cleaning fish scales. I worked in the oil fields, and I did not see how much this quick method in cleaning🌹🕊🌺🌴🌷🌵🌲✌🤘🤟🤞🤙🤙👈goodluck guy's
Thanks!
thx for showing how to descale them fish. i will try this method
Any time
Well done on the baby rod, Nick, a big catch on a small rod is the best,,,, good on Sarah for catching a great snapper too,,,, lucky for that baited hook ,,, take care guys and I agree cooking fish whole is the only way
Thanks Tim! Appreciate you watching and commenting
Great serving up the fish, Nick.
Thanks for watching : )
Awesome! I love the camaraderie of fishermen!

This one was fun I love how you shared it with so many people! Would be cool to do that will all types of sea food!
Thanks for watching!
I feel like free food is always Bean approved...🤣
😂🙂
Very nice opening drone shot. Great video as usual, Nick
Thanks! Sara got pretty good at flying the drone and editing 😀
Great video Stanzfam! Those are some big fish. I’ve watched you use the ‘fin & feather’ so much that I finally got some locally here in Nova Scotia. It is awesome on scallops, shrimp and halibut cheeks. Muchly appreciated!
Thanks! Great to hear!
I have always wondered why some use those extremely long leaders for Muttons. As long as 50' I have heard. Seen them being hand lined in once the weight reaches the boat. Think using the mini rod with a knocker rig proves you can catch them without the extremely long leader. We use like 5 to 10' leaders when we catch them. Great video as usual. Keep them coming.
100% , the mini rod outfished the long leaders this trip 🙌🏻
Great to watch your video.. love it..:)
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Back up and angle it away from you and at the end of the dock 🤣🤣🤣 amazing video keep em coming 💯💯💯
🙌🏻
vic got some Tina turner shades on
😂🙌🏻
Thee eyes have it 🤣
😂🙂

Thanks for watching 👊🏻
Love the fish on the pellet grill, but I can't do the eyes 👀
🙂
Love you guys. Send some more like this! :)))
Thanks! Will do.
I love how gracious and friendly you are to everyone!!!!
I6
Thanks! Appreciate it. Can’t make everyone happy all the time but was a nice meal to share and get some feedback from
Great video like aways! God bless you and your family Juan Carlos Lopez from Brownsville Texas
Thanks!
C'mon 200K !!!
Getting closer 🙏🏻
Great video !
Thanks!
That was absolutely awesome neck on a mini rod. Wow great show again.
Nick I just thought of you spell it correctly I don’t know how it does this but it does drives me crazy
Thanks! Appreciate it
Put the power washer at more of an angle and they'll blow away from you and not back at you .
🙌🏻
Mike cooks the boys eats
Feel free to cook one on May 25th when were there!
🙌🏻
We carve the cheek meat out of walleye all the time. I don't even skin it... only on the bigger ones.
Next time: put a banana leaf ....like when u use aluminum foil......
prevents sticking and gives it an incredible flavor. Greetings from Yucatan MX. ✌
Thanks for the tip! I definitely want to try banana leafs for cooking
@@StanzFam ruclips.net/video/ZG9QGf3MxSg/видео.html
good vid
Thanks 🙌🏻
Omg!! What took you so long to post that one!! Lol!! Life?
Life…. Just got buried in the hard drive but glad we finally got it posted. Thanks for watching : )
Free fish is being given out and, lo and behold, Bean shows up! I'm SHOCKED, I tell you... SHOCKED!!! 🤣 Let's go Brandon!
🍔🌭🌮
Cheers from Hoboken, New Jersey! I have been watching the channel for years; thank you for always delivering!
Thanks! Appreciate it
Sweet mutton looks good! 😋🤤👍
Thanks 😀
wow . amazing video fishing my friend . i like 😍
Thank you 👍
you shard insane content! 💥
Thanks 🙂
Love your video ❤
Thank you!!
Awesome Job! Wow what nice fish caught on the mini Rod lol. was that set up with a knocker rig? I’ve seen several methods keeping the bait far away from the bait etc..
Well done Capt as always
Thanks, it was a knocker rig. Sometimes the most basic plain rig gets them better 🤷🏻♂️
Now I’m going to have to try an eyeball. My wife almost gagged when I showed her Pancho eating the second one. Can’t say it’s bad if I’ve never done it.
Haha , some people love them 🙂🙌🏻
Bill you still working . your old plumber john.
Did you misplace this video from last year and finally found it to post for everyone to watch?
Yep, Just got buried in the hard drive and never edited, but we finally got around to it.
Spraying Pam or some other nonstick on the grill first would have made it easier to remove your fish!
👍🏻👍🏻
Nick why don’t y’all use the i-Pilot trolling motor with spot lock it’s the best thing ever
Drifting big areas for the mutton snappers, but we do like the trolling motor when we want to use it and stay in one spot
@@StanzFam gotcha
Where is Jamaican Mike I would love to see him eating that fish head
Not sure where he was this day, this was shot last June
Nice👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks 👍
Nick I think you’re coming to Charleston next week? Can’t wait to meet ya. If you wanna come on an inshore trip I can get you out with a buddy of mine.
I should be there Friday night and leaving Sunday late afternoon. Hope to see you there. Not enough time for fishing this trip but one day I will , thanks
@@StanzFam yes my son and I will be there . I go to Islamorada every year last week in February, always stop there in hopes to see ya. Last year at least we got to meet Jamaican mike which was awesome. Thanks for all your videos and your beautiful family
Hi, my name is BOB H. and I am a retired NYC Firefighter. I have been watching your videos for years and I never saw a video on how a customer can keep their catch as fresh as they can on the ride home. I have been fishing in the keys for a long time and used BUD N' MARY'S marina facilities quite often. What I need to know is the best way to keep my fresh fish fillets (not frozen) good all the way home. The place that I am staying at does not have a freezer. I need to keep the fish I caught, just filleted by the charter captain, good for 3 days in a cooler. Nick, you and your wife are very experienced in working with your customers. What advise would you give me. I hate wasting good fish. I would appreciate any advise you can give me, and I do catch Mutton Snapper and Grouper. THANKS, BOB
Hey Bob
I would bag them and keep them cold but stick some paper towels in there to draw out the moisture. And change paper towels each day if they are wet.
@@StanzFam Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated.
I would also like to know if I should drain the cooler of excess water, then replace it with more ice. Not sure to leave a lot of cold water in the cooler or 90% ice. Thanks, BOB
Oh yeah having the mutton snapper on a copper cooking sheet would have made it either to remove it from the grill!
Next time for sure
Stanz this is off the topic of this video. For sword fishing , why don't you use large circle hooks? I see and hear so many people loose the fish when taken off the lead. When deep dropping everyone uses circle hooks, why not swords? Thanks
We’ve caught some on circle hooks but the hook up ratio to catch ratio has always been better on J hooks for us (and most other people who swordfish). They are one fish that circle hooks are tricky for
@@StanzFam Got it! Thanks Stanz for the info.
In the dirty water did the bait need more action in order to get the fish's attention?
Could have, we got 2 on live bait and 1 on dead bait that trip
awesome content nick!!! you edit on a Mac Or PC?
Thanks! Sara edited this one her PC. I use a Mac for my stuff
@@StanzFam excellent... Thanks brother!
How long of leaders did y’all use here? Looks crazy
Anywhere from 10-50’
I love to eat the
fish cheeks and Meat , Great video Stan
🙌🏻 thanks for watching
Is that a 3500 or 4500 ?? Keep the great videos coming !! 👍 💯🇺🇲
3500 on the small spinner on that one
Hopefully, March or April,I can play a character tri0?
👁 juice??? Sometimes, I think humans are 👽...
🙂
What baits are you using? Type of dead bait?
Ballyhoo and pinfish
Where's Jamaican Mike been at ?
He’s still in town, scheduled just haven’t lined up to film together lately
QUESTION, HOW MUCH PRESSURE ARE YOU ON YOUR PRESSURE WASHER? I would like to know and I think other people would also!
2200 psi according to the specs
You need to bladt thise scales off at more of a 60° angle, not an 85° angle. You're bashing the meat. Then use it to wash off the deck if your mess.
😀👍👍👍❤
🐟 MUTTON FIRST FISH I CAUGHT FISHING IN FLORIDA 🐟...
Good stuff
Can anyone tell me where Larry got his shirt? With the Maryland flag accents.
What happen to Jamaican Mike?!
He’s still in town, hoping to film something together again soon
Caused the fish tank to have problems
be careful using a pressure washer with flip flops!
🙏🏻
It sure is nice to start a video and it not start with an add, lol
😬
Most of the fish were dead before they got to the boat. Sad !
They float up from the deep water but still alive most the time
Let the cat eat some.
🐈
You lost me at eating fish eyes. WTF. Bet he eats mountain oysters too. Geeez
👀👁️👁️
Nice job. Those snapper's are great. Nice job with the cook. Never tried it like that it's always fillets or in the oven. Congratulations nice
Thanks 👍🏻
First view. You’re the man
Welcome! Thanks for watching
WHERES JAMAICAN MIKE DOES HE NOT WORK THERE ANYMORE IS HE NOT YOUR FRIEND ANYMORE?!
He’s still in town, we just haven’t had time to line up our schedules to film. Hope to shoot something together in the near future
I've watched pretty much all your videos, and they are awesome, but when a new video comes out can you not show previews of your fishing trip? In my opinion it ruins it!
Noted, thanks
@StanzFam thanks for replying! I like the surprise of fishing in the ocean you never know what you will catch
I understand Florida now "sells" fishing permits to commercial fishermen, protecting "their portion of the ocean." Who died and made the state of Florida the Lord of the Oceans.?
I don't live there any more, and I could be wrong.
She wayyy toooo boooothie!
