The "American Dream" so many have chased has been dwindling for a while now and feels extinct, so no matter where you live or what your circumstances are make your own niche of happiness and peace and don't expect the world to give you solace.
This song especially hits me in the feels. I immigrated to the states from Ukraine when I was a kid, and our family moved back a few years ago. I have so many relatives and friends who stayed behind in the states, and act like everything is fine while living in debt. I decided that living in a materialistic hyper-workaholic atmosphere wasn’t something that I wanted. “All of our time chasing a dream” But this dream meant nothing for me.
Same with me.. Immigrated to the US as a kid went back to my country for university as universities in the US is too expensive, went back to the US but never felt at home. In mexico now across the border on a working Visa and i’m enjoying my time here more than the US. The American Dream is just not for everyone I guess :)
London Grammar is at the top of the list " in my opinion" of bands that have an exceptionally talented vocalist. Hannah's voice is what makes the band. What a powerful singer !!!
