Absolutely stunning, to say the least! Also Big Bear playing Tetris took me off "guard"! Definitely had a good laugh! XD You're an inspiration, man! Thanks for sharing your time and these videos! Yo Joski!
And it's Tetris, the only video game approved by the Soviet Union for the Oktober Guard :) This version is a keychain my wife had but it's really close to perfect scale and it's fully functional just like the real game.
Woaaah! Awesome! I didn’t know about these October Guard figures… Nice! Looks really good. Really well made, up to the colors. One little trick on hinges, you can also use a 1mm styrene rod. It works just as good with the added benefit of snapping off rather than distorting the hinges if you drop the vehicle upside down. Styrene pin is easy to adjust and replace.
I never knew there were that many octobre guard figures.. I only have red starr and big bear.. that was an awesome customization man.. hat's off to you.. big bear playing the tetris!🤣
Excellent video... That's a project I'd really like to do myself to upgrade my OG figures with more vehicular firepower. Fun story, from when I was a regular guest at a lot of comic cons, and back when I was creating artwork and helping develop (unofficial game expansion) cards for the GI Joe TCG several years ago, I had spoken with Michael Golden at Heroes Con in Charlotte, and let him look at my work. We chatted for quite awhile about several pieces that struck him, as I had illustrated MOST of the Oktober Guard characters for the sets... And THEN he found the vehicle artwork for the same ones featured in that Joe yearbook that you referenced here, and I told him that since they didn't appear to have designated codenames, like the Vamp or MOBAT, we had decided to name the bigger vehicle (which you've re-created here) as the VANGUARD and the smaller 6-wheeler as the Dynamo... He loved those codenames and talked about revisiting that story and having Hama include those names in the dialogue. Also, a few years ago, I found an actual 6-wheeler with some accessories, in the Joe scale, to use as my Dynamo... Real world something or other toy line(?), which I've found the watchtower playset and some others on Amazon, so shouldn't be difficult for you to find, if you're interested, of course. Aside from that, I've painted a version of the APC to make a troop transport, and recreated the convention exclusive motorcycle from a Movie line bike that was almost all gray, but the name escapes me at the moment, starts with an 'S' I believe though...🤔 I've got a couple of other things in mind to do also, using a couple of Captain America & Jurassic something toys, so I'm looking forward to those, as well.
@@ActionRobotPunch And thanks for inspiring me and others! I'm actually working on adding weapons and paint-apps to a MOTU Origins Wind Raider... I've also got some upcoming projects inspired by "King Arthur And The Knights Of Justice."
Probably not. It's a lot of manual work to cut and fit everything and then paint and stickers. I'd have to charge a crazy amount. But I do sell the 3D files on my etsy shop so anyone can do this project themselves.
What a fantastic job! Thanks for putting me on to this; found a seller in Belarus doing a good deal. Really love the toyetic (& somewhat crappy) aspects of this toy. Can't wait to give mine a gaudy camo repaint & slap some Cobra logos on it 😁
Exactly. The sort of low quality detail and soft plastic make this a real toys’ toy. When working on these I always try to be mindful that I’m not making a Tamiya model diorama but a child’s toy. Good luck on the project and thanks for watching.
That is awesome! I just saw the pics you sent me on Etsy. Just brilliant. You've inspired me to get moving on more projects. Is ok it I showed you pics in future videos? Thanks for sharing.
ha, ha! from Russia, no less! I wonder if it was not possible to scan all pieces, then scale up with the computer. then, 3d print all to get the proper scale to fit. you re quite lucky to have all members of the guard, I never achieved it myself. I find that to have all 4 factions is the best thing to have for scenarios. again, with what you had, it s a pretty good result. I enjoyed watching the process. good work!

@@ActionRobotPunch now all you need to do is draw up more "add-ons" for this and other joe vehicles. maybe a different weapon system for the vamps, or a ski attachment for a winterized vamp, different missile system for the wolverine, or even just extra equipment or greebles for joe vehicles
