    More Oktober Guard! Conversions aplenty. Cool!
    Why does the 6x6 look familiar? Ah-ha that's right...the yearbook!
    Man, so many images I forgot about are alive in your videos. Thank you.
    Now I've to scour e-bay for a Wolverine chasis, but your Etsy store (for Wyvern conversion parts for sale) says sold out. C'est la vie.

    Great visuals and superb storytelling. Really loved watching this East vs West "mines better than yours" tit for tat...also brought back great memories of playing with my Action Force in the snow back in the 80's - when we actually had regular snow falls in England. Great crane conversion too, can get your link to work to check it out, I'll try on the computer later...keep up the brilliant vidz 👍🇬🇧🍺

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 года назад +1

      That was the 80s for me. Us vs Russia. The competition of everything from space, to military to the olympics. Lots of influence from films like Red Dawn and Rambo. Good times :) Glad you enjoyed it.

    Well done boss! Decided to play and said wtf put it on RUclips! That yearbook was easily one of my favorite comics. The artist did a deadly job same guy who drew the nam I think

      Totally agree. Michael Golden is the best. His drawings of hueys and other gear in the NAM was amazing. And his depiction of the Oktober Guard is my favorite.

    I love your vehicle conversions. The Wyvern is inspired. Too bad Hasbro never made a proper armored recovery vehicle. I thought the Havoc would have been a good platform for an engineering vehicle and freight carrier.

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  9 месяцев назад +1

      Growing up it was always us against the Russians. Red Dawn, Rambo, Hunt for Red October, any Tom Clancy book, War Games, Reagan and Gorbachev. The list goes on. I make these to take place in that time, during the cold war, when there was a sort of mutual respect and fear of each other. I always loved the way that the comic made the Oktober Guard the Russian version of Gi Joe with similar characters/caricatures. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

      @@ActionRobotPunch Thanks for the response- and yeah I always preferred to think of the old USSR as more of a rival state to the USA instead of an enemy; it’s just that two nations with such influence in the world would inevitably have legit issues w each other.

    How did you make the roll bars and the guns on the six wheel? I assume the base is the Corps six wheel? Looks like it.

  • @cyberfrank-bx2nv
    @cyberfrank-bx2nv 2 года назад +1

    ah, it seems I can t get enough of those stories, they re just too good!
    1 - that 6 wheeler is just the cream for october guard, because I m influenced by the comic,
    I think I d paint it light grey though, and green wheels look a bit off.
    2 - I cringed a bit looking at you unhooking the bridge, as mine got broken at this very point,
    and it was nt cold, I think it got twisted a bit in the storage box, it s fragile.
    3 - because I m French Canadian, I notice when French words are pronounced wrong,
    and crevasse is one of those few words that sound exactly the same no matter.
    unlike connaisseur, or entracte, 40% of English language is French, just a fun fact.
    4 - I love the Russian dialogue which is patronising every chance they have, lol.
    C3 - PO ; how typical!
    5 - things don t change, Americans swindling the Russians on deals, lol.
    ok, they DID done the hardest part of the job, and they ll still deliver the goods.
    so, maybe relations are getting a little better.
    6 - I love that this cool story could nt be done without your crane custom,
    and it shows how 'thunderbirds types' of vehicles were missing in the line.
    rescues can be as much fun, or better than just battles.
    my first joes were not soldiers, the adventure team was more about
    exploration, and rescues, Hasbro made a few figures in the 'joe club',
    I had hopes that they would bring them back, as military toys were demonised.
    sales were hurt by mothers complaining, and boycotted buying them
    to their kids saying it made killers out of them.
    high divorces, and women mainly getting custody...
    women in charge of gi joe at Hasbro, annoying colours, cheap vehicle designs..
    gi joe could nt survive this much adversity.
    but I think the adventure team could stand a chance if determined people would care.
    cobra could still be the enemy, destro, Russians, 4 factions would be best.
    good show!

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 года назад +1

      Yeah total comic influence. I love that you caught all the nuances. The way that the OG would always talk up the USSR in the comic was just great.

      Fantastic story, great visuals and many happy memories brought back from playing with my Action Force in the snow...that's when we got snow in the UK! Those tracked Joe vehicles are great, what's the base vehicle you've added your parts to?

    I LOVE your work. I see that you have an Etsy page where you sell some parts. Would you sell the parts of this Oktober Guard buggy or make one for me for your agreed upon price? I bought the core buggy (same as yours)--but I am finding that I am not very craft friendly and/or skilled in making customs. Would you contact me here and tell me if you sell the roll bar and the recoilless rifle and machine gun or if you would do the work to create another one of these for sale? Thanks--I have money, but apparently no customizing talent! Lol.

      I saw your message. I wasn't planning to make any of these but I'll take a look at the files again and see what I can do. I hate for someone who wants a ride for their OG to not be able to get the parts they want.

    awesome work! great video! however, i don't speak russian or french, so what is the english translation for the word "cravase"? any help would be appreciated! Yo Joe!!!

    • @ActionRobotPunch
      @ActionRobotPunch  2 года назад

      Haha, thanks so much. Crevasse is actually an English word for a deep open crack, like in the snow or a glacier. But you have a good ear because it does originate from a French word. If you watch any mountain climbing documentaries you’ll hear the climbers use the word often. They’re really dangerous to skiers as well. Thanks for watching 👍
