I am SO GLAD that I subscribed to this channel! So many people want to charge for info like this or make you take a class that you have to pay for. You have a gift, not only for airbrushing, but also teaching folks like ME how to use them...PROPERLY!! THAT is key to anything! It's cool if you own a Corvette, but if you don't know how to drive...what good is it? I have 3 airbrushes that I've bought on sale years ago, but never had the "will" to want to use them, but after watching your videos.....I want to airbrush ALL DAY LONG!! Thanks! God Bless!!!
An airbrush is a tool, yes the more expensive they are the better quality you get, I have one of those cheap $20 ones from China, bought it back in 2010 and has lots of use, only last week had 1st problem with it when the tip nozzle broke off leaving the threaded part stuck inside! luckily managed to repair it and now working perfect again, i rigorously clean it out after each use and it has had both acrylic and enamel paints put through it.
That’s great to hear and I agree that you don’t necessarily need to spend huge dollars on an airbrush, that said I am glad to hear that your cheap one has lasted so long…it goes to show you that with proper care and maintenance any brush can last no matter the price 👍🏻
I have a couple of the cheap Airbrushes, first one I bought back in '08 and it's still my favourite, it has the pressure control valve built, I had the same problem with the nozzle the other month, I used my nozzle tool and fished out the thread, popped in a new one and it's back to normal again, it was the original nozzle so has lasted well... I have just treated myself to a Harder & Steenbeck Ultra - 2 in 1, I've not used it yet though, but will one of these days, I'm still use to picking up my old one...🙂 @Airbrush Asylum - Thank you so very much for taking the time and for all your hard work, I have learnt so much from you, thank you Sir...
Nice video as usual! For me a good cheap airbrush is the Iwata Revolution HP-CR. You can get this airbrush for 150 cnd$ at Maple airbrush supplies in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Another alternative is to buy soine of those beginner airbrush sets. For a couple of hundreads dollars you got an airbrush,a compressor, some paint, some stencils and a couple of useful accessories.
I bought the Iwata nozzle wrench after seeing you use one in an earlier video. No question about it, best money spent on an AB accessory ever! Cheers 🤩
True! That wrench that comes with the gun is pure crap! better to spend some money on this nozzle wrench! Makes the dissembling of the nozzle more easier!
My Hubby got me a Stealth Compressor off Amazon. VERY VERY quiet! It has a tank and it runs only a few seconds if I am spraying a lot.... One to suggest. Mine sits on the floor next to my chair and it is SILENT!
East Coast U.S. I picked up the Neo for $59 and some change at Hobby Lobby store. Their Iwata accessories to me are a little pricey. 17+ for disconnect, 34+ for water trap. Harbour Freight store has ok starter kits. Brush, compressor, hose, etc. Hope things are going your way. And hey, have great day! 🇺🇲🍺
I have the same model of rechargeable airbrush that you showed at 5:07, if you get the complete kit it comes with hose, cleaning brushes et al. I've never airbrushed before, pretty surprised at how good it it.
I appreciate you spending the time putting this video together with a lot of information as it is very helpful. Please keep up with what you are doing in this RUclips community.
Youre Videos are great and full of informations, they are a big help for me as beginner. A friend ask me to paint his guitar, so i came to airbrush. Thanks that you share your knowledge with us 🤗
Thank you. A question, when thinning water based acrylic paints (as a beginner) I have some of the cheap craft paints. I have seen your video on thinning paints, where you state to use the makers thinner. Now the question, since craft paints do not make a thinner, can I thin with distilled water and get decent results?
Thank you to Every Day Airbrush, for sharing their thinner mix. The other thing you could do is purchase a regular airbrush reducer / thinner and you could use that to thin your craft paints hope that helps 👍🏻
I'd recommend the Badger Patriot 105 as a good budget airbrush. Around $75 to 80. It's loads better than the Neo for about the same price. There isn't a paint the Patriot can't handle.
Thanks for sharing and yes , badger are fantastic even though I personally don’t use them you are right that there are other brands that are great value…ie badger, Paasche, sparmax (owned now by iwata) etc…
I bought an iawata hpb airbrush off someone it was new they didn’t want to use it. I bent the needle and there are no markings telling me what needle it takes. Google didn’t help. Any advice? I’m a noon when it comes to airbrushes
Hey love all your videos have you tried the GSI Creos Mr. Airbrush Procon Boy PS-270 0.2mm Platinum? If so would you recommend? Or is the .3 model 289 a better choice?
Budget? Nooo! ABudget Brush would be a $30 model - I know very few on the market but for $70 we are on the track of finding some very fine brushes. the Iwata for $120 is not a budget brush it's a preference
Compressed air bottles work good on the fly, bit expenssive for the bottle, but when you need a refill you can trade the empty for a fresh with a minumal charge for refill and tax and your welding company
Immediately reccomending a brush that's worth more than 100 while never seemingly talking about compressors at all is not anythinf approaching "budget". You didn't even mention for better or for worst several brush/Compressor kits that most people end uo looking at when they're thinking about getting in to it.

Badger Patriot is a very middle ground brush and tough and long lasting, I spray everything with it, and very easy to clean

I have this too; after a year it still works as well as the first day, I´m honestly surprised.

i use isopropyl alcohol with distilled water works good, i use with decoart americana works very good its should work with other craft paints
@@AlerrandroVegas Thank you, what ratios of alcohol/distilled water do you use?
@@johnhorton7106 50% alcohol 50% dislited water or u can try 70% alcohol 30% distilited water

Picked up the Iwata eclipse from hobby lobby for $150 and it came with the pistol grip filter.
That’s awesome , you are gonna love it it’s a fantastic brush 👍🏻

And also available from Spray gunner I see 👍 thx for that

Is the neo (2nd option) good for airbushing on t-shirt?
Yes the Neo is great however I would prefer the revolution or an eclipse, you could also look at the gsi creos PS.289 as they are a great option.
Great for beginners but I got a few ideas. Where can you get that manifold, multi port blue aluminum piece.
Can you make a video on how I can get a complete airbrush kit that someone else pays for because just like me they are awesome
Just starting in this hobby. Great video, I learned much from it.
Hey love all your videos have you tried the GSI Creos Mr. Airbrush Procon Boy PS-270 0.2mm Platinum? If so would you recommend? Or is the .3 model 289 a better choice?
Thanks a lot for all your good advices. 👍
No probs glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻
HARBOR FREIGHT sells cheap but good brushes and kits.
Excellent thanks for sharing 👍🏻
👍

Iwata IS 975 Amazing Tool😎
Yes it’s a fantastic compressor 👍🏻
Thanks mate,

Yes , great suggestion and they are silent 👍🏻👍🏻
The Neo was the top of the budget brushes. The others are not budget.
Yes , fair comment the GSI Creos is also amazing value for $120 👍🏻👍🏻

Or buy a Badger and get more bang for your buck🤷🏻♂️

Don’t use cheap airbrush for model 😂
Thank you!
