    Love my ally man. This is what I dreamed about when I first got my deck. Which I was disappointed in.

      Yeah and unfortunately the deck will be in its current state for a while

    I want that oled screen. But man, that lower fpsand no vrr is a little bit of a hit for me. Playing lies of P at a high fps was so nice.

      I thought so too but it just limits me to save my battery life. So it's a positive, out of a big negative. High refresh vrr is the way to go though.

      @WinDeckTech just need them to drop a higher hz oled and I'd probably be in. Love vrr, but everything I use, besides the ally is oled and it sticks out like crazy.

    for 13:24 with the new bios 330 update with the same settings I am getting 100 fps or 97 fps though this is on vram auto and I adjusted the vram scale target in settings to 68 (EDIT: I meant 13:24) fantastic video though I love when people bench this beauty | for no upscaling im getting a 10 fps difference mostly | core isolation and memory Isolation are off for me as well I have no idea why I'm getting higher fps it possibly may be the temps and may be thermal throttling but I have no idea really

    With tuning with the right settings I’m getting 90-110fps in mw3 on the ally with 30w manual. Have you tried fine tuning all the settings ? There’s quite a bit of them that do make a pretty big impact on performance and don’t actually take away from quality that the naked eye can see at this resolution and size.
    Mw2 def was better on fsr1 and indeed I’m glad fsr 2 is better now.
    Did you try 30w? I don’t see a ton of difference between 25-30w but sometimes I’ll get better 1% lows plugged in. Randomly on 25w I’ve seen people have some stuttering or “hitching” as some call it.

      I didn't go for high fps with this. I was just going for decent looking settings, higher textures. With the expectations that it would hitch the ROG ally like in mw1.
      You can comfortably get higher fps at 30w or even 25w with selected settings.
      But as you can see on the air1s running the same settings (balanced) we can get much, much higher fps with 32 GB of fast ram. Something the ally can't meet. Which is still why I won't be getting a Handheld with 16gb of ram going forward.
      This wasn't meant for to be an optimized run by any means. Just a like for like (same map) comparison.

    Have you tried setting vram to auto in Ally? I’d be interested to know if it provides better performance in these tests.

      In my experience, at least with the previous MW. Running on auto gave a less stable experience. Typically this is the case oftentimes.

    Upon updating to BIOS 330. I have now Coil Whine ! More so on the desktop doing Windows stuff. There is no way to downgrade the BIOS anymore. Are you experiencing the same issue? Thank you.

      Not on my experience no! I'm sorry to hear that.
      I will do some more testing tomorrow to see!

    Old is my next upgrade. With 32gb rams of course.

      It is the way to play! In my opinion.
      Best Handheld experience I've had. Even including 120 vrr.

    Do you think the amount of ram matters more than the ram speed? I’m asking bc I’m getting the legion go which only has 16gb ram like the ally but it’s at 7500 mhz like the ayaneo.

    • @WinDeckTech
      @WinDeckTech  10 месяцев назад +1

      I would say the amount of ram is more important. Yes you will get performance gains with the faster ram, seen on the ayaneo 2. However that was only achieved with having 8gb dedicated to the VRAM at all times while having the remaining 24 as system memory.
      Being able to set and forget the VRAM at 8gb (without destroying performance) is awesome as well having more vram is a clear advantage in modern games. Even at 1080p mid to low settings.
      I'm waiting for the next big brand to come out with a 32gb z1e.
      Likely dell or gigabyte will have something

    Hey WDT, how are you liking the Air 1s compared to the Ally?

    • @WinDeckTech
      @WinDeckTech  10 месяцев назад

      I'm looooooving the air 1s.
      I honestly have no complaints with the small screen running 1080, 900 or 720. I got the 32gb version, like in the video I would recommend getting at least 32gb of ram (fast ram) on a 7840u if you're looking.
      I do miss the high refresh vrr screen however I find this basically forces me to cap my fps thus saving battery life.
      Playing RDR2 30fps favour quality settings at 900p at 14w and its perfect
