Hi guys!! I got the chance to visit Philly in June and did the same.. My daughter and I stopped at Geno's and Pat's to try their cheesesteaks and do a comparison...now, I am not a fan of Cheese Wiz on my cheesesteaks so I opted to have Provolone cheese. We ordered from Pat's first and I ordered a cheesesteak with mushrooms (big mistake) I didn't really enjoy it with the mushrooms, then we went across the street to Geno's...and their cheesesteak was phenomenal! They were winners with us too! 👍🏽
No one in Philly goes to Pat's or Geno's unless they're drunk at 3am.
They're for tourists.
That being said, if you ask for the best cheesesteak place you'll get as much arguing as asking for the best pizza in NYC. All Philly agrees on is Pat's and Geno's are the worst.
