I love seeing Fauna find one tiny hint and instantly rattle off a perfectly accurate theory about the game's overarching lore, then ram her ship into a rock for five minutes until it breaks.
Having an attention span of a timid mouse, constantly distracted, never fully exploring an area, and gives up easily in the face of adversity. Not quite explorer of the unknown, more like grinding by exploring for crumbs of insight. Though to be fair, her flying skills are making her very disoriented and motion sick. Lack of using the rotational thrusters and matching velocity to realign to a plane that would be a standard orientation reference.
I think her main issue might be that she's just trying to be entertaining to an audience without immediate feedback. That and the mindset that she's on a time limit and she'll have to 'boringly' repeat everything she just did in the next loop just to reach the same point. It's making her flit around to the nearest point of most interest instead of systematically going over an area with patience and extracting what she can from it. tl;dr Streamer brain without the stream. @@johntan4997To each their own, I enjoy the streams, but I would have preferred at least somewhat systematic approach. Like not missing half the room when exploring.
that's a somehow accurate description. Good job. I'm sure she'll learn eventually, because i do not think that approach will make her get past the Anglerfish.
Ohhh boi, it sure would be great if the game had a function to match the speed of an astral body so that, let's say you're in a space station without gravity, that you can find your way without wildy bumping into the walls and getting motion sick 🥲
I no longer feel the urge to laugh at flying insects that continuously fly into the wall/ceiling/lamp. They're clearly trying their hardest & as Fauna has demonstrated: flying gracefully isn't easy, ESPECIALLY when one keeps forgetting that they can use the left trigger to thrust downwards without having to tilt the entire ship.
Next time she goes to Brittle Hollow and inevitably falls into the black hole, she may remember she failed to enter a door like the Orbital Probe Cannon one.
The contrast between Fauna's very quick understanding of the lore (Immediately understanding what the Ash Twin Project does, realizing that there might be a connection between the interloper and the ghost matter, etc.), and her being completely aloof and pon while blinded by the game's brightness being too low and wonky controller, is completely fascinating! xD

One thing I've noticed is that Fauna almost never uses the up/down boosters while flying, which means she's constantly spinning around to try and align her direction and flying past her target, causing frustration and disorientation.
You're right, I noticed that too. The ships downward thrust indicator light literally never lights up, which makes me think she doesn't know it exists, which is mad to think about. Imagine trying to fly the ship without ever using downward thrust
Fun fact for Future Fauna: Time does actually pause while you're looking in the ship logs or translating/reading text (by default, you can change it in the settings). The only exception is during the supernova sequence. As soon as the music starts playing, nothing pauses time anymore other than literally pausing the game.

Spoiled with an extra long episode today! We went all over the place, so many more leads and questions to answer! What's going on with the Orbital Probe Cannon, what's in the High Energy lab, what is the sixth location the Quantum Moon visits? I have not finished watching the video until the end but from what I have seen so far, there have been beautiful moments that do not leave indifferent like this moment when Fauna lost herself in the vastness of space to stargazing or when she was looking at the sun at the end of the loop. It's really anxious to see it both so big and so close to us.😨 But this why Outer Wilds is a so magical game. Now that I finished the video, I can tell that I really liked the "bad ending" of the video, Fauna's disappointment was something and the end of the loop gave an even more dramatic side to the scene.😂

Happy New Year Fauna and fellow Saplings, I'm enjoying this let's plays so much, It's so funny watching chat lose it in every episode lol, Thank you for recording this let's plays Fauna.
I can really tell from the comments that it was a good thing that Fauna didn't stream this game. As a small amount of people don't seem to know what a first time blind playthrough means. There are some seriously salty people in the comments, mad that she doesn't immediately know where to go and what to do on her first playthrough. Lol. If you're for some reason reading this Fauna, you're doing just fine. Keep up the good work.
To be frank, I think one reason for some of the comments is the fact that she did complete the game, so they can freely express their frustrations on some pretty silly moments from Fauna. I do agree that not streaming the game was the best option as chat would've 100% spoiled or backseated way too much.
I love seeing Fauna find one tiny hint and instantly rattle off a perfectly accurate theory about the game's overarching lore, then ram her ship into a rock for five minutes until it breaks.

I love when Fauna looks at the ship log and everything about the video becomes this perfect, emblematic representation of how jumpy and distractible her mind is- just constantly zooming in and out on different points multiple times a second while kirin goes "OOh but what about X, OOH or what about Y maybe Z or A or maybe B"
Happy New Years to all the Saplings and to Fauna!
Who need fireworks when you have a super nova
Fauna so lost just starting this episode
17:30 feeling observed fr now
Poor ship, its going through so much abuse, Slate would cry if it see what players to it...
I think I need to count all the times I have said "Fauna please" or just "Fauna..." with all the stuff in front of her she miss
30:10 Fauna lost in space
36:10 and there it goes the ship
I dont think its good for your eyes to watch a super nova (or the sun in general)
Bit of quantum knowledge unlocked, its always fascinating seeing how quantum mechanics are used in the game (even if not completely accurate to reality)
1:14:30 She got bamboozled by herself
Have to say I was afraid this would be one of those "filler episodes" she mentioned on stream a while back, but there was a quite good quantity of discoveries today
Thanks for all the let's play videos while you're on break! It's really appreciated, and a really awesome thing for you to do💚 Happy New Year, Fauna! I hope this year is a great one!
Fauna out here on new years 🎉
Happy new year saplings!!
Hello Fauna. Hello Chat. Happy New year from Germany (it's midnight here right now)
Happy new year, Fauna. Here's to more wacky elevator fun!!
Happy new year Fauna and Saplings have a good one in 2024
You can do it Fauna! I believe in you, expand that brain.
Fauna is very good at going on foot to places she should take the ship, and taking the ship to places she should go on foot.
Happy New Year Fauna! Thank you for the simultaneously stressful and hilarious episode! You're making me want to buy the game and explore it myself so I don't have to wait!
Happy New Years Fauna and everyone!!! Hope you all have a wonderful day today!!!
MILF, This adventure has been great so far. Keep at it nomi Fauna. Lets see if we can find your people :)
Happy New Year Fauna and fellow Saplings, I'm enjoying this let's plays so much, It's so funny watching chat lose it in every episode lol, Thank you for recording this let's plays Fauna.
12:19
Past Fauna: Am I bot allowed in?
Tornado: You're not even trying 😂
Happy new year! You did great on the countdown
Did anyone else think her repeating, "Where are the memories stored?" over and over was a mantra to herself to try and remember what she learned?
This stream was a real treat to have on while I baked some cookies. Thanks for all the content, even on your vacation
Another episode another Fauna exploring half the room and leaving and saying she's confused. 😂😂
