The White Hole Station is Fauna's version of the gorilla walking through the people playing basketball at this point. At least we finally made it to the herald Southern Observatory and got the workshop lore even though it may have asked more questions than it answered. YIPPE!
I wish she had the same focus to explore as when she tries for 3+ loops to wedge her ship in the Statue Workshop. She gives up so soon for everything except this 😆
Just noticed one of the game's developers (Jeffrey Yu) was in the premiere chat at 44:41. I wonder if he gets as frustrated at the rest of us every time Fauna ignores the White Hole Station, lol.

@@Charkid177 I don't think she will. The spoiler death is because she managed to get too far away from the solar system.
But breaking the spacetime is something a lot of people miss.
Just when we finally had hope she might find the White hole station.... I don't know how much longer I can hold on Saplings....
At this point i worry she might get disheartened. She basically cannot beat the game without the whitehole station, at least it's unlikely or significantly harder
it stares right at her every time, it's unmissable, and she refuses to consider its existence
@@MeritWD i mean as long as she goes to the High Energy lab she should be fine since it also establishes the warp core technology and the time travel possibilities

You can pretty much figure out the Ash twin deal if you get to the black hole forge or the energy lab but it'll probably be a while for the energy lab and getting to the black hole forge in an unconventional way requires her to be stubborn at the right spot which is not likely to happen in this case. If she did in the black hole forge the same thing she tried to do in the statue workshop she may get in. I have only seen like two person try that though, and once failed.
Or you can get accidentally warped and figure out how it works by being stubborn and bashing your head against it. Fauna had been walking on warp panels a lot, but hasn't been lucky.
Fauna isn't stubborn at all almost all the time tho.
She probably finds the white hole station eventually though. I see that happening before the black hole forge thing (though energy lab is still possible).
That said, I've pretty much given up on the chance she'll eventually (spoiler next)
Break spacetime. I bet she will go to the energy lab, read all the dialogue, get out and never come back. And once she gets to the ash twin place, she'll not try to go into the black hole.
@@rotmirerob I really think it's just that she's so completely lacking in confidence and ability controlling herself in zero G that she doesn't want to explore there. The moment she's at the white hole she just gives up and thinks it's game over. Honestly she's played 12 hours of a space game and yet she couldn't even land on the moon and this epsidoe marks the very first time I've ever seen her use the downthrust option on either ship or suit (23.05). Autopilot has been too much of a crutch for this kiren methinks.

You know, this made me remember the "somebody else's problem field" in Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy: basically that something is right in front of you, it's right there existing and visible and taking up space, but you'll just avert your gaze and not think about it. Maybe the Nomai had a similar technology, and it was installed on the White Hole Station, except it only affects some people, but when it does, it's really-really strong.
The Nomai mastered anti-Kirin cloaking technology.

It's possible, you only need to enter the High Energy Lab or Black Hole Forge and then make a deduction about the warp panels.
@@sistani3313 Wait you can learn how to warp without reading the white hole station instructions? Remember, this is No-patience Kirin we're talking about, so unless it literally says to wait for the planet to align, I doubt she'll figure out how the warp thing works.
@@RexusprimeIX if I recall correctly, the High Energy Lab has a black and white hole demonstration and text regarding the towers. I don't remember if it mentions the required alignment of the tower and the corresponding astral body.

everybodys talking about the WHS but nobody is mentioning how she got below the current and instead of using the jellyfish to go to the center she just left
Thumbnail image makes me hopeful she reaches the Southern Observatory. Episode title makes me think she'll be talking about Philosophy after falling into the Black Hole several times on the way there and having nothing to do while the oxygen and fuel runs out (and ignoring the White Hole Station)
Well, I was somewhat correct. She fell into the black hole two times and decidedly ignored the White Hole Station on her attempts to reach the Southern Observatory this episode.
i love that she's fixated on the Orbital Probe Cannon being a probe for orbits, rather than a probe cannon that is IN orbit.

I only recently learnt that you can fly out to seek the probe far far away. The same probe that found the eye is apparently stationary after some time

At this point, the only hope I have that she'll enter the White Hole Station is if she questions why the White Hole Station is marked as a question mark and decides to fly the ship into the black hole to explore without the risk of running out of oxygen or fuel.

Stopping the Autopilot and slowly flying into the sun while saying "Okay somehow it did not fly me into the Sun." was peak Hearthian Fauna. Got lots done this episode, grats Fauna!
Saplings that have played the game were really on an emotional rollercoaster this time
Last episode was definitely one of them, but I’m glad she finally got to the Southern Observatory, since she’s been wanting to for a long while.
@@deadzipper1777 I love when she says she wants to explore somewhere, and then she actually does. Which is surpringly rare lol. I'm so happy she prerecorded these, though, I'll take this over watching chat use Fauna as their controller.

Good progress after realizing she could in fact have gotten to where she wanted to be after all this time. Closer now to what lies in the core of Giant's Deep and many other things.

tbh I was pretty surprised it didn't happen last time we waited as the winds blew by, but that's probably b/c we did the qunatum trials tower earlier, and every time an island gets launched it "eats" the cyclone that pushes it.

Fauna’s Video title naming scheme has been so NL coded it brings a tear to my eye. This series is great and I can’t wait for her to stream again!
Still holding out hope for an actual visit to the white hole station, finally getting to the Observatory gives me hope, but only time will tell lol! And apart from Fauna missing WHS today too, this episode was actually satisfying to watch, progress was made !

Two goals got accomplished this stream: getting into the Southern Observatory and reading that scroll in the Statue Workshop. Good progress!
I feel like the mystery involving the core of Giant's Deep isn't quite done yet, and I was thinking, those jellyfish were said to be rubbery, so maybe they could be used to get past the electricity? At least, I think that's what the Feldspar segment was implying.
This game remains as enigmatic as always though. I'm always looking forward to the next episode!

I know everything is frustrating when you're watching someone play this game knowing how everything works, but I remember doing the same. As things start clicking for her, I'm sure we'll see more and more "progress"

It really does hit the spot when you get that Ship Log update. Glad she finally got to the Southern Observatory, and unlocked Meditation, now anytime she falls into the Black hole she can reset the loop….
11 episodes in and she still doesn't know how to down boost. It's a miracle she's even landing at all 😭😭
This would not be nearly as fun if chat could tell her what to do. But now we know Fauna is definitely a sadist, because we’re all suffering every time she misses something obvious.
Oh man, Lets Play is definitely the way to go for Outer Wilds. The backseating for streams is of course a big issue, but we'd miss out on the thought process of Fauna. Blind to certain (obvious) things, but we wouldn't have the fun of the general shock and curiosity of some things. Also, she's slowly making progress as a pilot. Maybe she needs to remember what the seatbelt is for, but at least she's eager to explore!

White Hole frustrations aside, this feels like a turning point! Fauna learned that some problems have much simpler solutions than she thought, and also had her hunch about the statue workshop validated. Hopefully these developments will give her the strength to keep bashing her head into those question marks!
Every episode I watch I have to check the comments for white hole station just so I don’t get my heart crushed every time fauna just dismisses it and tries to die.

My favorite part of this playthrough is that Fauna spends equal time solving the mystery and fighting the physics.
It's so funny how fauna usually gives up so quickly on something else but still so persistent on wedging her ship to get the lore

Yeah, except some hilarious moments, things start to move here ! Two great accomplishment here and a philosophy moment to conclude the video, it was great. Not to mention how hilarious it is to watch the WHS clan suffering more and more throughouth all this walkthrough. (Ganbatte, guys, I'm sure she will go in it one day, don't lose faith !)

My new favorite thing is the way Fauna does an elegant Kirin spin when she enters the elevator at the start of a loop.
At this point im starting to think I never visited the whote hole station. I mean ... The first thing you see is a giant station after leaving the white hole, but maybe i just dreamed it.
She learned how to sleep her troubles away! This is an absolute win!
Fauna's pathological aversion to While Hole Station is fascinating... As is her propensity for not looking UP.
Past Fauna redeemed past past Fauna with the Southern Observatory and finding one of my favorite lore drops. Though by getting meditate I feel like there may no longer be hope for the White Hole Station

Some good progress this episodeShe managed to get to a couple of things that she was really itching to find out about this episodeOne of them kind of turned out to be another poem moment from the last episode though
The let's play format has been really good for this game. Fauna gets to experience the game her way without the potential for chat ruining anything for her or trying to play her like a puppet on strings. And chat gets to have the catharsis of backseating past fauna in the premier with relatively no hard done.
But dang, if it isn't painful watching Fauna futz around the way she does.

Uncovering and removing the "?" In the log is a big part of the game. I have faith she'll look at it closer when she runs out of clear objectives and when she does I'm going to be all pogged up

Flies right by White Hole Station to die instead, because it's of negative interest to her, goes past the sun on autopilot while thrusting backwards, and then turning off autopilot so she floats back into the sun without noticing, then also tries to cheese something she knows how to get to out of impatience. The Fauna experience.

What is crazy to me is that she went into the probe canon, so she saw some sort of other architecture from the Nomais in space, I am pretty sure she saw mentions of the WHS somewhere, she then falls into the black hole and go in front of the damn WHS and she's like "I already went there" then depleted everything to die... To me she has a big brain as she understood how to get to the quantum moon WAAAAAYYY faster than I did (even after doing the tower of trials) but she clearly lack the feeling that there is still some things that you might have missed something
Be patient space kirin, you can do it!
Fauna has now ignored the White Hole Station 8 times. Two in this episode. With the inclusion of meditation, I believe it is RIP for WHS bois.

As Fauna comes up against the walls impeding her from going forward, she finds herself with no choice but to break through them and start making progress on the real mysteries, and I am here for it . congrats on making it to the southern observatory past Fauna

Remember, all the goofs and gaffs will culminate in immense satisfaction as all the puzzle pieces click together and she discovers tons of stuff at once.

I don't think it's painful for me the fact about the downward thruster. At this point, for me, anything is progress 😂. I was so happy with the Statue Workshop despite the fact it doesn't help 😂.
The WHS... Yeah, that one is indeed painful.
I was convinced she'd never intentionally downward thrust.
She's an idol, afterall.
There’s also the time where she walked into the lake bed cave and hypothesized that the rocks are quantum rocks then immediately noped out of the cave
I'm pretty sure she used the downthruster by accident, so she hasn't learned how to use them during regular flight.
In this episode Fauna: Sasses the Autopilot, Does a flyby of WHS, Geoes back to the crater of her Dreams, Has her Filler Arc, Observed the inside of the Observatory, Learned how to Meditate and gets a Triumphant Lift. Fauna might be slightly too enamoured with log updates thought, I am sure she can stop whenver she wants to thought.
At least she made progress this time! She actually looked around and--get this--FOUND the entrance. There's still hope for White Hole Station yet!
