This studio is one of my favorites. I love how real Jordan is about being able to get the sounds he wants out of plugins and not needing a ton of outboard gear. Inspiring for beginners like me who don’t have a ton of space or gear know I can still make high quality records with what I do have. And this room is absolute goals. Super chill spot.
The Prophet keyboard is 6 Voice polyphony
Really cool that he works in-the-box. My favourite part is how you left in about him and his wife being serious about getting out of debt. I like how you make your videos personal and show the humanity in each one. Thanks again Andrew :)
You should make shorts for every studio you visit, like a B-roll. Love to see such content and it will grow your channel for sure.
Shots are for people with limited concentration. It is a downfall of society.
@@morbidmanmusic okay morbid old man😂
Please no shorts it an absolute menace
Been watching this channel for 3 years and I will say that this is in my top 5 fav spaces. In love with the clean look and the aesthetics. My 5th time watching this vid 😭
Fantastic as usual. Love how unpretentious and humble he is.
Thanks Andrew!
Love that he's so in-the-box with his studio. Definitely makes me feel better about doing so myself. Just need more UA gear to bump up that DSP!
Had the same thought
That makes three of us!
I just discovered your channel and now I'm in binge watch mode. I've been an Audio Engineer for 27yrs , mostly live sound touring internationally but always wanted a cool setup at home and your channel has sparked my fire to finally install my Midas XL4 I bought 4 years ago with that intention and use the mountain of Legacy 80s and 90s kit I've been hoarding! . I'm still hunting for the right house yet my son is now 15 and keen to do this with his dad and once the day comes we find the right house to build in , the XL4, she will be the center piece so I'm getting soo many cool ideas here now. Thanks for the inspiration and well crafted Videos with quality people. SUBSCRIBED!
Wow! Spectacular studio! I really enjoyed the tour and conversation.
Thanks so much!
I love these tour videos. I always seem to find something that inspires my studio or ways to make awesome changes. Keep it up.
this is what i strive for. its not too much, it gets the job done, its bright and doesn't look like a studio. couldn't be more perfect
I love this room! Sooo clean! Love the seeing another bonus room setup as well.
The highlight of my Mondays. Love your videos they have inspired my home studio.
I absolutely love your videos and love the passion you have for teaching others!
Such a warm and welcoming studio and guy! Loved it.
First became aware of Jordan's work off the latest Jeremy Camp album - so many good songs he was involved in and great quality on the productions
I appreciate your videos my friend. I worked for Niles a few years ago and actually built that huge ass wall diffuser, it was a mind bender figuring it out with all the angles and such, lol! But it turned out beautifully
Dude I love the intro, you chillin next to your console!!! So awesome brother! This guy built a super clean and comfortable creative space, I like it!
YES!!! Andrew came through! Cool coincidence that I reco’d this studio last week and boom! thanks Andrew
Watched this 3 times already. Really nice clean space. Love the fact that everything is used. Wish I was like that!
MKH50 is a stellar mic for interior dialog as well. A little more forgiving if you move out of the sweet spot and has great low end even at distances of 2 feet away or more.
This is probably one of the most realistic studios I have seen on this channel. Not too over the top, each piece of gear has a purpose and the guy's also killing it in the scene. This should be an eye opener for most gearsnobs that you actually can make Platinum records just in the box with next to no outboard gear.
i dont know if you know it but his mic costs about 3400 $. so i would say your statement is not true because you can clearly see that hes using very expensive gear (4 TB Macbook etc.) even the prophet costs 3500 $. So having expensive gear makes a huge difference. you just need to know what to buy which he clearly does
Man, these videos are so inspiring.
Absolutely amazing job on this build, wow.
Jordan!!! Awesome seeing this. Let’s get that hang on the books
What a great space, person and hang. What's your take away from this tour? I learned how to label my inputs on my grace m905 😂.
Andrew thanks for this one! Loved the tour/interview
Great video-tour as always! My take away is that you can get great stuff done without any outboard, which although I already knew, it refreshes to see someone actually doing it. :)
The prophet 6 is versatile but very sharp and modern. The prophet 10 is warm, very deep dynamics, I would personally go the prophet 10 for a more vintage classic sound .
Good lookin out!
Incredible. The minimalism makes this one feel super accessible. Great tour.
This is the best one of the year so far, amazing room, and cool dude too! I love that he's got the Helix, Rhodes, Prophet-6 & Apollos, those are all part of my exact set up as well. I've strayed away from outboard because the UAD stuff is are great and I like to keep a balance between sound, gear and workflow. I know I'll get some at some point but I'm not rushing, workflow is most important. I've actually been looking at the TC Electronic Controllers, those seem cool and keep the workflow quick, I wish there were more dedicated plugin controllers from other companies!
love how beautifull that console looks
That looks spectacular!
Love the videos man pretty cool studio
So I’ve know for the last year that I was going to be building my own studio… your videos have been a great way of changing how I think about a studio… I was planning on spending 20-30k if not more to make a full on studio in my basement I think imma just focus on a space I can create in… thanks 🙏 for the videos and also for the savings as well
哇! 真是個漂亮美好的工作室❤有著寬敞的空間和許多的樂器,我感覺完全能待在這個房間一整天
Thats a lovely space!
Looks killer. Would be a nice room to chill and work in.
When I see a setup like this, all I can think is "that's the dream man"
I use Sennheiser Mh416 as close mic for kick tip and floor toms. it is amazing.
Great stuff as always, dreams coming true….
Hey Andrew, the Sennheiser MKH 416 is a workhorse for location audio recording. If for any reason you want a shotgun mic with less coloration than the Sennheiser check out the Schoeps CMIT 5U or the Schoeps miniCMIT. They are awesome microphones with one caveat: they can be susceptible to humidity and can possibly "motorboat". But their audio quality is stellar. Otherwise the Sennheiser 416 will serve you well. If you ever need a super wet/humid environment microphone check out the RODE NTG3. It is impervious to moisture. Audio wise it is like a first cousin of the 416. Hope this helps.
This room is awesome
This studio is my spirit animal.
Man, I just love watching your channel and have been for a few years now. So much inspiration and well thought out plans... but sometimes it almost brings you down lol I mean, you look around at your room after nad your like "damn man... stop watching these... OH, THAT LOOKS WICKED (*click*)! lol Awesome stuff Andrew, thank you!
I got so inspired by ur channel and u that I am renovating my own home studio
Hey Andrew nice video
Yo, the MKE 600 is absolutely incredible (I also have the 416)
I guess I checked the channel at the right time. :D Diet coke in hand, let's go for a half hour of enjoyment. :)
que bello lugar
That console next to you in the intro is looking pretty dang sweet! Are you gonna do a walk through video on it?
I am hoping you do a video of how that new console is connected and integrated into your setup and how you use it. :)
2:40 “I want it to be open, Aryan, white” lol
Never think that the gear or so called pro's standards are the be all end all...
Great Studio & Good Vibes
very cool studio...but best is that he has it set up for his own personal like and ease of use..so it is more functional for him
babe wake up, andrew masters just posted a new studio tour
My biggest concern.... Shoes in apartment/studio, especially on those nice clean white carpets. Just unbelievablefor a European :)
When you said, “Oh, you got a hub in a hub!” I felt that lol
does everyone in Nashville have the same style house ? lol everybody rocking that cathedral ceiling
More details about each piece, and what it does, would be welcome
THIS STUDIO IS SICK, where you work at? Would love to book my band there🤘🏻🤘🏻
Really cool to see this award winning setup that is 99% in the box! Makes me want to invest all of my money/attention to the UAD ecosystem.
You're pulling up short, boss. UAD might still be industry standard, but they're behind the curve. You don't need to commit to the UAD ecosystem to get great built-in preamps. Little hint - most interface preamps are designed to simply be clean and their unison BS can be achieved in the box -- and frankly I hate things like UAD that lock you into a 'walled garden'. I've heard they're getting better, with some plugins available outside of their SHART DSP-powered chip interfaces, but I'll roll with an interface 10/10 that doesn't walled garden their plugins and instead prioritizes latency and rock solid stability - RME for the win.
Love that Andrew has just taken the ultimate outboard step in purchasing a big console, and, the first studio tour he does after the fact is a guy who has no outboard gear and grammy nominations! lol! 😅
What was the mic for the acoustic guitar? I didn't catch it. Thanks for doing these, love seeing the different studio spaces.
Not sure, but i think it should be an akg c414
I need to stop watching these videos. I’ve missed out on building my dream studio. Now that I’m retired I’m relegated to living in a cabin in the woods. Life is good.
Holy shit this channel is good, you lured me in with the clickbait "I DID IT" and now I think I'm about to watch like 30 videos
Got a question, those speakers are right in front of the windows. How much of your speakers are bleeding out into the streets/neighbors properties and is that any concern for you? I only ask because I worry about being the annoying neighbor all the time on my end which has dictated me trying to keep the loud stuff away from outer walls.
What does the music sound like tho anything interesting or just commercial sounding.
I love how not pretentious he is about gear... "is it a good song?"
where do i get that deskt
Ach ja 🎉
Why do you cover your CLA10 monitors?
I wonder if permits are required to do something like that in a residential neighborhood.
Watching these, I’m constantly surprised how many people work off portable hard drives rather than building a NAS that is remotely accessible.
This is irrelevant - but you should definitely bring Ponytail Andy back! That was a good look
So is that it then? I just need a bonus room above the garage? That seems to be the common denominator with so many of you guys 😅
"this was all carpet before" ...and now it's just mostly carpet. 😂
Room Dimensions?
For DAW me to Logic Pro
You skipped some guitars!!! Wanted to hear the story behind that old Ibanez. 😄
What external drives are those you guys were discussing?

@@AndrewMasters thanks man!
What do you use for filming?
A camera, gimbal and some lavs. Canon R5 ,15-35mm 2.8 RF, DJI Ronin SC, Senheiser lavs.
@@AndrewMasters I watch all your vids amazing love them great job, i plan to have set up for film and curious on how you like your set up with filming equipment. Thanks great work....
Thank you for the great studio tour, Andrew. Mr J Sapp comes over as a very grounded and humble guy. As many have said, the work-in-a-box really highlights that he is all about the song. I have been writing for a lifetime but life, as it does got in the way of pursuing music in the way I had hoped. I am finally finding the time and desire to record again. I have a new Macbook Pro M1 Max, Logic Pro x and now need to bite the bullet on an new interface. Apogee Symphony Desktop vs Apollo x, or maybe something else. It's a minefield...Any constructive advise would be most welcome. A work-in-a-box setup is the direction I would like to go. Out of interest does anyone know what the transport control unit is on his desk to the left of the keyboard? (it features at around 9:28 in the tour). Thanks
How do you guys keep the dust, moisture and mold out of cables and equipment?
Do you pay some specialized "workers/businesses" to do the cleaning? 🙂
6 Voices hence --> Prophet (6), just like the OB6 has 6 voices....
Now I know why Sweetwater is making more profit, all the equipment has to go somewhere…
is it just me or do all the studios look pretty much the same in Nashville? Can someone please change their doors so they do don't like 70's UK council estates?
I'd have to disagree, now I know i've only been to about 107 studios here in Nashville (so far) but they definitely do not all look the same lol. There are a few studios who hire the same designers and contractors IE Niles acoustic design and Music city acoustics which inevitably leads to similarities that's certainly no where close to the majority.
yeah, its 6 voices. for fucks sake. all these producers and none of them know anything about synthesis
You tell’m bro.
@@AndrewMasters what i mean to say is, get more synth nerds on here
