Seen a pic of your jeep you posted on FB comments, loved the whole thing between winch and colors all that, neat content and knowledge as well. Seeing you work with your kid and teach him makes me wish I had my pops around when I was younger honestly, keep up the good stuff like this please 🤝🤙🙏
I think it is totally wonderful that when a mans out up to his ears in mud etc all day his wife is right there alongside him, recovery looks a very lonely job, but Matt has his reliable sidekick and camera person right there if he needs her, well done Christina, and it doesn't harm anything at all that she is easy on the eye and has a great chuckle.
GOT ME HOOKED!! DONE A FEW RECOVERYS HERE IN SOUTH LOUISIANA MYSELF AS WE HAVE SOME DEEP SWAMPS WITH GUMBO MUD.... YOU MAKE ME WANT TO START A RECOVERY BUSINESS LOL ...
People are scared of the chain because of the horror stories from people using them incorrectly. Used properly, they're safe to use because there was a time when we didn't have synthetic ropes. We only had cable and chains.
and don't understand hitches because chains only have straight pull ratings, but 99 percent of chains are used as a chocker hook up, they do make special hooks that strengthens the chocker setup back up to 100 percent instead of 70.
I keep learning from this channel. My activities are pretty tame compared to this, mostly pulling logs out of the woods with a tractor and chains, sometimes a couple of chains. I never thought of using zip ties for safety. By next firewood season I’ll have a winch on the back of the tractor. After watching this channel I’ve already bought a snatch block and a tree strap.
In crane school they taught us to use duct tape on the hooks of the catch lined and lift lines for rolled over semis and such Anything that potentially becomes slack was required to have duct tape to prevent coming off We adapted the rubber ties from Home Depot because they are reusable and been working great for several years with zero issues We continued to use them when transitioning from rotator work to off road
What would you do without trees? That black mud looks like the kind that would smell quite awful. Mud is the worst thing to get stuck in and the hardest to get out of but you seem to understand it quite well and always manage to get the job done.
Do you ever get tired of working in the mud! They make a “T” device for climbing ropes that connects to your garden hose that you can run your rope through to clean it. Might be handy since you like playing in the mud so much!
Fire Departments have a cheap hose washer that works like that. Nozzle are arranged in about a 6" pipe that spray out the other end. You stick the hose in the water pressure from the jets pulls the hose through. You could easily build one for ropes, especially with your abilities.

Chains are very useful and safe when used correctly
@@matt.mckinzie most people don't understand chain ratings. many are using grade 40 chain.

We carry land anchors for no tree areas
Time to get the power washer out
Never under estimate the power of the snatch!
Does great things when done right
👍
teach us how you knot up your rope extensions have seen it before looks kinda like electricians to extension cords but i never learned how to do it
I’ll do that

Yeah mud sucks
And sand sucks
But you get use to it
I’ll definitely look into the t
Tho
@@matt.mckinzie I believe rope company PMI and also CMI make one, pretty inexpensive and easy to use.

@@RealJeep we could, would be very simple
And we could make it out of pcv for about $20
