New video from Andrew and it looks like he just got himself a new toy. I guess all those things I had planned to do this morning will have to go on hold for the next half hour while I check out this newest AC video. If I hadn't seen the movie, Misery, I might say I'm his biggest fan but having seen it I don't dare. I'll just say I LOVE his videos! The one I am really looking forward to is when he paints his castle. That is going to be awesome! And sorry, Andrew, but actually the two males I have a serious crush on are Levi and Cody! Thanks Andrew I loved it! Those tracks are difficult to replace when in a confined space like a narrow drift (tunnel) underground in a mine, as myself and a mine mechanic had to do on a few occasions years ago at the Dome Gold mine. We had to use 4' scaling bars to basically force the track onto the Kubota KH41 mini excavator, like I said 'no' room to work, it took us about an hour to change one track, lots of swearing lol. The Kubota was used to dig drainage ditches and clean-up in between the rails as this was a 'track mine', it sure beat playing the banjo, hand shovelling lol.

When you want to collapes your track adjuster, put a 2"-3" diameter log or piece of heavy wall pipe between the track and the drive sprocket. Slowly move the machine so the spacer collapes the adjuster. This is a trick I used working on Cats and excavators before breaking down, or removing a track.

The bad track popping off caused the stress, The more time you try to track it on again the worse it got, The fact that you need to put new tracks on sooner than later or add more grease to keep the tracks tight. Tracks will last a long time. Its due to tracking the track on and off. Once it pops off it put a lot of stress and there for that is the reason it is broke, The T300 and S300 machines are real nice. The newer T650 and S650 are nice too, Yet they are a bit weaker than the S models and balance is slightly more off.

Yanmar, Kubota, Takeuchi, IHI actually have machines that are built to be reliable and tough, unlike the delicate snowflake American stuff. They actually put time into engineering things that work in harmony instead of slapping pieces together and putting them out there. No wonder the Japanese stuff hold there value a lot more than the bobcat or cat

Could have helped to both remove,- and replace the rubber tracks with the same machine... yep; the wheeled excavator - instead of having another machine like the farming tractor wich need to be repositioned every time you need a different angle with the forklifts.

Being as I have witnessed about 7 Bobcats make over 150 million dollars in 15 years with no breakdowns I can tell you why you've had trouble with yours. Number machines=bad. Gotta have the S or T series. No Duetz engines. No electric controls. Hand and foot only. Solid tires only. Track machines will burn undercarriages every 1500-2500 hours. Less when you use them to breakout material. Cost of doing business. In the 10 years I ran Bobcats we never had a mechanical problem save for a few starters and hoses. They were used throughly, but gently. You were chastised and run off the equipment if you bagged on them and they lasted the duration. All got sold between 3000-5500 hours, never needed and major overhauls. The company was dissolved and the depreciation on those machines was maybe 10-20k a piece. Excellent equipment and I would buy those machines all day long if I had a use for them
