Now this is the content that got me hook on this channel. Don't get me wrong I like the mountain top videos but all the construction type videos where Andrew demo's properties, installs new culverts, driveways etc. are some of the best content on YT. Andrew may not have to take these types of jobs much anymore due to his YT fame but let it be known these jobs are the rare treat and have been missed. In any event I love all the content Andrew puts out. (some more than others) Keep it up Andrew!

Kinda sad to see it all being torn down, at one time someone made a lot of memories there for sure. Lots of hard times, good times and everything in between. Anyway, that was a mouse house for sure, looks like it has been abandoned for well over 35-40 years. All it takes is for a hole to poke through the roof, the weather comes in and the process of rotting starts.

Andrew, I wanted to know just how you felt when you came out of that old house. I know I felt pretty depressed. I find it very sad watching an old house like this coming down. I think of all the Christmas mornings the kids ran down those stairs, the birthdays and celebrations, the sad times when the boys went off to war and the boys who didn't return. The prayers said in those old beds, and the dreams and hopes. It's day was over, of that there was no doubt, and when Andrew is done it will be a dear green place again as it was long ago.

FYI , that play structure is called " Eagles Nest" and was available as a kit by most lumber yards back in the 1980's. I built one for my kids with a 4x4 post swing set added on . My wife asked me why so heavy duty swing set? It doubled as an engine puller. Oh, I gave my friend that Eagles nest for his daughter. He ended up running into it with a front end loader. I removed all the salvaged lumber and it's still going strong as side rails for my utility trailer. Now my grandkids play on those boards and trailer, so it's double duty again, unintentionally.

25:15 the problem in US is that the rail system (no thanks to mickheads like Melon) is shot to sh!t and severely underdone. If US had a quarter of Europe's equivalence in rail, things like these would be easily shipped from A to B and money could be made. When people say "that's worth something" they aren't wrong, they're just unaware of how difficult it is to put X item in Joe Average Collector's hands.
Not always, but whenever i'm called with my team to restore an old house, i can get the owner to send items to various auction houses and they make money (or i do if they don't care for it), but that's only because i can easily ship them across Europe with ease. Like on my current project, a 1910's French style house, even the knobs (which were nice, but unfortunately too mismatched to use) fetched 50 to 60 euros per pair. There's a market (especially for movie prop and set makers) but if you can't access it... it might as well not be there.
I've sold everything and everything over the years. Knobs, levers, hinges, fixings, mountings, radiators, even ornate piping made from cast iron (those were a doozy).
And no, it's not on Andrew that he can't send these things to a new house, it's the issue above, because i read every once in a while that "he's not trying enough" or whatever. Not his fault, before i had my connections, i was in the exact same place as him, couldn't put these things to where they needed to be and there's only so much storing of these things until it gets to become hoarding.

My grandparents had a kitchen hutch, it had carved ducks and animals on it! I asked him where we came from,he said Scotland originally, but the family stayed in Smithville,Nova Scotia! After moving to the east coast, I saw and ad for one just like it,made in Smithville nova Scotia!
I always wondered where it came from, and now I know!
Ppl didn't have fancy kitchen cupboards, the term relates to a cabinet were you put your cups and plates! I peered into an old house near where I lived,it was vacant, but had a fancy kitchen hutch, with glass door knobs, and glass windows.
In the living room was an old red stitched couch like my other grandad had he paid a lot for it back in 1959,400$, my tin stars on my cowboy boots used to snag on it,drove him up the wall! So I was surprised to see, what was an old expensive couch in an old farm house,in a poor area of norther new Brunswick, but a lot came to work in the auto plants of Windsor Detroit!
Yep,thar hutch u c here is a rariy these days, and so is hand carved wood ornaments!
