honestly su's live performances are god tier. she's crazy precise and has insane breath control. you can hear the differences between her live performances and its awesome to see how her voice has matured over the years. the official video of road of resistance is awesome, really shows their professionalism and crowd engagement

Great reaction. There may be some 'tidying up' of the audio on the DVDs, but it is minimal - live BABYMETAL is where they are always at their best and Su-metal's live vocals .... you need to hear her in person, she is incredible. On those few occasions where she might have a crack in her voice or be a little sharp it notices because she is so good.
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - like the song it is also about always moving forwards.
You are right about their choreo - it is not just dancing for the sake of it, their choreo is bespoke for each song and helps to interpret the meaning of the song or a lyric, it is also designed to lead the audience, getting them involved and joining in.

    I fucking love this song.
Japanese bands, especially the women, bring so much optimism and positivity in their songs.

    _Ossu!_ 🦊🤘🥋
Welcome back to the Foxhole, The One is getting crazy recently with the new BM collab with US rapper Lil Uzi Vert.
Anyway this song is from 2016 so you can find a lot of versions of this song when YuiMetal was still in the group before 2017 of course. You can come back next July 4th with something special for MoaMetal's birthday, check it out:
    - MoaBanger which is Headbanger!! live at Legend M 2019 MoaMetal 20th birthday, she sings the second part of the song.
Budokan 2021 marks their 10 year anniversary celebration and seal the Metal Resistance chapter along with another seal for the group, fortunately that seal is already broken since last year they're releasing new singles and kick start of their new era, get ready for a new BM side we've never seen before. At the end of January, they held two live concerts marking their return after almost two years since these Budokan live concerts.
They fought against many enemies on this road and many more battles, but they manage to get through all of it, and this song is one of those strong weapons they had, to fight and conquer every metal heart that don't believe in them, you probably already know Road Of Resistance if not I highly recommend to check it out. Budokan is just a name for general martial arts place, there are other Budokan throughout Japan but this one in Tokyo is the most important and is big, this is the place any artist wants to reach when you're over the top, and they did it already in 2014 when they were even younger and having many struggles so they needed a revenge to pull away those ghosts from the past. Sadly this 2021 live concerts is a half capacity due to restrictions all over the world and safety measures (guess you already know why), the crowd wasn't allowed to mosh'sh, crowd surfing or shout without face mask, instead they can stomp their feet, clap their hands or doing a human wave, at least they can do something to participate in this epic and memorable event.
Momoko Okazaki was the _avenger_ or third backup dancer filling the third spot in all these 10 live concerts as well at Makuhari Messe 2023, she's now MomoMetal, an official member.
Karate lyrics is about keep fighting despite the obstacles but always looking for your friends help, that's why you see them helping each other in the bridge section, although if you look for the official MV you'll see revealing that there's no harder enemy than yourself.
Try also to look for live at Download Festival 2016 version, is even more beautiful during the bridge and with the full original trio.
    Next suggestion:
    - Akatsuki live at Budokan 2014, "BM Fans Ecuador" got this.
They recently released another special version at PIA Arena MM so hopefully you'll get this for further reactions. You can find this with watermarked logo safe to react at Reactor Resource (BMRR).
See you next time and always put your kitsune up! 🦊🤘🥋

The song starts, their pose is 'K'. So, It is the 'K' in 'KARATE'.
By the way, I think you guys should conquer Queen's 4 solo songs. 😁
    ①Akatsuki
    ②No rain no rainbow
    ③Rond of nightmare
    ④Amore

Great reaction! I suggest you guys to react on their live performance "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", on Sonisphere 2014 (UK). That performance is their first one in the west, known as the day Babymetal won the west.
Just imagine, your first live in the west is in front of 50.000 people and performed on the main stage alongside bands such as Deftones, Carcass and Iron Maiden

Only the singer and one of the dancers had a mic, because at that time Yui Metal had left the group, so babymetal was composed only by two girls, Su-Metal (the main singer) and Moa-Metal (the dancer with the mic). But for the live concert they needed a replacement, which was not formally part of the band and was not allowed to sing... 😒

I feel like metal heads forget how mics work lol. Having seen Enslaved ~10 times it's always fun to see Ivar forget when his vocals are cut during banter. Like, my dude, lol.

Recommend checking the ft with Uzi, it's a fun song or Starlight, Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Saitama arena next time, there's already so much standard "guides" to BM then trying something different than usual would be more interesting 🦊

I recommend ignoring the collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert, you are still new to Babymetal.
This Karate is the period of the Avengers, after Yui left for health reasons in 2017 (officially 2018). In this one, of the two dancers, Moa (the girl on the right) has a microphone, the Avenger Kano (the girl of the left) doesn't. Su and Moa are the only official members, up until April 2nd of this year when the Avenger Momo became an official member and got a mic, returning the harmonies to the music.
So there are eastern and western Kami bands. The western Kami band was hired in 2019 when they needed a band to do world touring with them on a regular basis. Since then, it has mostly just been the western Kami band except for a handful of shows. This tour they are on their way to doing almost a 100 show by the end of this year, and only two (Babymetal Returns) in January were the eastern Kami band, the rest were or will be the western Kami band, including the two big shows in Japan that were held in April (Babymetal Begins).
    *Western Kami Band*
Chris Kelly (Guitar) [Former Galactic Empire]
C.J. Masciantoni (Guitar) [Former Galactic Empire]
Clint Tustin (Bass) [Former Galactic Empire]
Anthony Barone [Former Shadow of Intent]
    *Eastern Kami Band*
    ISAO (Guitar)
    Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar)
    Leda Cygnus (Guitar)
Fujioka Mikio † (Guitar) [Passed away 2018]
    BOH (Bass)
    Aoyama Hideki (Drums)

You know when you tell someone not to do something they are more likely to do it. They probably never would have known about the Lil Uzi Vert collab till you told them not to look at it, lol
