Great reaction - and its so good to see you not only read the comments but also take in the information provided. Good job.
'Karate' was the lead single for their second album. It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this as it is a Japanese martial art and reflects their culture - as Moametal also said, it is all about moving forward which is also one of the main traits of BABYMETAL, many of their songs carry that message.
In the video the figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that).
They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible. Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time.
This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards".
I think you would enjoy their song 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' and the performance at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK - their first major event outside of Asia and their first time in the UK ... plus you are yet to hear them live, the two official videos you have watched have the studio audio of course.

" they wanted it to look as authentic as possible"
My karate sensei would've slapped them and sent them home for those punches. I love the song, but good god don't tell people this has anything to do with karate lol

Thanks for the vid! Babymetal is definitely fun to watch/react to - and surprisingly a lot of their songs do have a deeper meaning (on top of being positive). Babymetal was somewhat of an experimental as they were a sub-goup of an idol group the 3 girls were part of (Sakura Gakuin).
There was a play on word with Baby and Heavy - but the producer, Kobayashi Key, chose the word "Babymetal" to represent a new birth in the metal scene (fusion of metal and jpop/idol music).
Since you guys don't like spoilers, I won't go too much into details, I'll just give the basic background, lead singer is Nakamoto Suzuka (Su-metal, born Dec 1997), backup Mizuno Yui (Yui-metal, born Jun 1999) and Kikuchi Moa (Moa-metal, born July 1999).
Their live performances are backed by the Kami Band (talented and skilled group of musician). Their live performances are off the charts, I'm pretty sure you'll get comments from others about checking out their live performances. A fun one could be their performance in Sonisphere, 2014, their first ever tour outside of Asia - at a metal festival of all places :p
    All the best in 2022!

Great & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This MV was filmed in 2016. The girls have grown up into beautiful ladies now. Albert looks fairly knowledgeable about BM thanks to fans in the world. Their activities have been worldwide since 2014. In the latest world tours from June 2019 through March 2020 (prior to COVID), they performed live 20 times in USA (in 18 states), 19 in EU/UK/Russia and 1 in Taiwan in addition to 15 in Japan. Last year 2021, they carefully restarted their activities and completed 10 serial concerts here in Tokyo taking very strict countermeasures against infection. BM performed Karate in all of the 10 shows. Su-Metal hit the high note at the end flawlessly with matured voice and made audiences rejoice. Beautiful moves by Moa and Momoko soothed everything. I experienced it at the venue ヽ(^o^)丿

Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that this video gets often copyright blocked, so this reaction may be taken down! If it does, you can try and put a transparent logo on top, or play a bit with the video opacity: with other reactor it worked!
No, BabyMetal hasn't done any anime song up to now, but the main singer's previous group called "Karen Girls", did songs for the Anime "Zettai Karen Children"!
Since you talked about Death Note, you should be familiar with "Maximum the Hormone": that band did the songs for the second season of Death Note :D
BabyMetal was created as a subgroup of the J-Pop group Sakura Gakuin, by producer Kei Kobayashi, aka Koba-Metal , after hearing the Suzuka (the main singer) at her last Karen GIrl show :)
The part of Hebi-Metaru and Bebi-Metaru is a play on words that they love to do, and the Baby in BabyMetal also stands as the birth of a new genre, Kawaii-Metal!
    Good job remembering that :D

    Karate (Babymetal song)
"Karate" is a song by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal from their second studio album, Metal Resistance. The song was released to active rock radio as an airplay-only single in the United States on February 26, 2016.
    "Karate"
    •Single by: Babymetal.
    •Album: Metal Resistance.
    •Language: Japanese.
    •Released: February 26, 2016.
    •Genre: J-pop, nu metal, metalcore.
    •Length: 4:23.
    •Label:RAL, Sony Music.
    •Songwriter: Yuyoyuppe.
    •Producer: Kobametal.
    •Yuyoyuppe: (arrangement)
    Babymetal singles chronology:-
    •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015).
    •"Karate"(2016).
    •"Distortion" (2018).
    Background and release:-
According to Suzuka Nakamoto, "Karate" is reminiscent of the song "Megitsune", which "is popular among international fans. [The song] has not only Babymetal vibes, but also has Japanese elements. Its lyrics portray a strong will to go on, no matter what happens in your life." The song is a nu metal song that contains elements of metalcore. Composed by Yuyoyuppe and arranged under the name Yuppemetal, "Karate" also features djent-like riffs, and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion."
Kikuchi explained that the lyrics are about never giving up and always moving forward, no matter what difficulties need to be endured. Furthermore, Yui Mizuno described how the dance moves were made to help express the message of the song, as most of the lyrics were in Japanese.
    Reception:-
"Karate" received generally positive reviews from music critics. Lars Gotrich of NPR Music described the song as "catchy and grandiose" praising Nakamoto's vocal performance, comparing her to Evanescence lead vocalist Amy Lee. Jon Hadusek from Consequence of Sound called the song, as well as "From Dusk Till Dawn" essential tracks from the album. While reviewing Metal Resistance, Jordan Bassett of NME praised the song, describing it as "fast and furious until jangling, arpeggiated guitar alters the rhythm." Hartmann praised the song's chorus, calling it "one of the catchiest pieces [Babymetal] has crafted to date."
"Karate" peaked at number two on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart on the issue dated March 19, 2016, spending fourteen weeks on the chart. The song debuted at number 24 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, for the week of March 12, 2016. After the release of the band's second album Metal Resistance, in the week of May 7, 2016, the song peaked at number 17, spending a total of twelve weeks on the chart.
    Live performances:-
"Karate" premiered at Yokohama Arena on December 12, 2015, during the final dates of the Babymetal World Tour 2015, and was added to the setlist of the Babymetal World Tour 2016, performed on the first tour date at Wembley Arena. The song had its first televised performance at TV Asahi's Music Station on April 22, 2016. The song's choreography contained interpolations of karate moves, as shown in the music video.
BABYMETAL WIN FIVE HONORS IN THE 6TH ANNUAL LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS:-
Japanese pop-metal sensation Babymetal are one of the 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards’ biggest winners, as their fans voted them to victory in five separate categories.
The teen trio and their phenomenal backing musicians have rocketed to the top of the metal world, and in many ways, the worlMd of music. Babymetal’s rabid fanbase filled the Tokyo Dome two nights in a row, so it’s no surprise the band won the Most Devoted Fans award for the second year in a row, this time edging out fellow Japanese act X Japan.
Babymetal’s Metal Resistance album proved the group wouldn’t go out as a one hit wonder. It kicks in hard with “Road of Resistance” and keeps moving with anthemic cuts that are criminally catchy. Metal Resistance won Best Metal Album in our latest awards, while “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song.
2016 was Babymetal’s year for touring, playing Wembley early in the year, appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, taking over North America, playing the Tokyo Dome and finally supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers in the UK. For Babymetal’s accomplishments, they’ve been voted Best Live Act. Finally, frontwoman Su-metal claimed victory in our Rock Goddess of the Year category, beating out beloved singers like Amy Lee and Cristina Scabbia.

I recently fell down the foxhole and am slowly getting to know their songs. I enjoy watching reaction videos to see what other people think. As for what songs to recommend my current list is fairly short do to my newness to BABYMETAL. Though everyone has different tastes some of the songs I have enjoyed so far are Road of Resistance (Live in Japan), Handanger (Legend 1997 or if you want something different there is a version refered to Moabanger where Moa does part of the song for her 20th birthday), Su does a beautuful solo ballad called No Rain No Rainbow, or if you want something to just have fun and jump around there's Oh Majinai featuring Joakem Broden or PA PA PA with F Hero

For actual Anime music let me draw your attention to the bands of the BanGdream franchise, where the musicians are the voice actors. Please react to the mighty "Raise A Suilen": R.I.O.T, their rivals "Roselia": Black Shout, or "Morfonica": Daylight. All live of course.

They were fighting their own demons.
They were themselves behind the masks.

Good reactions, but y'all gotta stop using the official MVs. You'll just keep getting blocked. The festival performances from the official channel are generally safe, and there are a bunch of good performances from some of their early shows like Headbanger from Legend 1997 or Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan Black Night.
