Thx for the vid. I just bought a new 2023 Manitou XT SRW 25 Tritoon boat w an Merc 400 L6 XL supercharged. Right now I'm breaking it in and could only hit a top GPS speed of 48 mph. I really thought it would be in the mid 50's at the least.. I'm open to anything at this moment.
It all depends on the prop and rpm range. The max RPM range for that engine is 6200-6800. If you are at the higher end of that you can step up the prop to a larger pitch. This gives you more top end speed but slows down the acceleration. The smaller the pitch the more RPMs and the taller the pitch will give you less RPMs. As long as you are in the max RPM range you can change props and test. Hope that helps.
Hey, thanks for this video. I just purchased a boat with twin 250 Verrado’s. 2016. Never had mercury’s before. There is a very slight wind that I can hear from the motors. I was assuming that would be normal because of the supercharger. But it’s not as loud as your video showed. I’ll inspect those connections that you pointed out. Thanks.
Hey, I am from Brazil and I am using a Verado Supercharger in a VW Gol for drag racing. I am not using the bypass valve, because I don't understand for what purpose it serves... Can you give me a insight? It's for low RPM?
It's there to control the boost. If you are trying to get the most boost you don't need it. The Verado computer is trying to get the most power and still be efficient so they limit how much pressure they put in the motor. They also want the motor to last. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Hey Justin, I just picked up a Verado 400 for a project motor. Something to fix up and diagnose over the winter. With these engines getting up there in age, are there any aftermarket support companies you've installed parts from and would recommend? Do you have any sources for used parts (other than Ebay) that you know and trust? Thank you for a great video!
Do you ever get down to Punta Gorda? My 305 Whaler Conquest with twin 300 Verados could really use your help. Also boat’s generator is toast, replacing with Next Gen IPC 3.5. Any experience or thoughts on these gens?
The Verado inline six is all the same motor basically with different horsepower. The new ones are completely different. The don't make inline six Verado anymore. It's a V10, V8 or V6 now. Out with the old and in with the new. 😊
They still have the inline six for this year but it's the last year for it. They stopped making it in 2022 and just sell the leftovers till they are gone. It's a good motor and I would still buy a new one😊
I learned something new in this one ! Interesting stuff. I must double check that I got the cover on right👍
Thank you! I lost 15mph on my 225 Verado and noticed more noise. I just found the isolator boot slipped off.
Glad to help and happy you found it. ☺️
Good information. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers!
Thank you ☺️.

Justin-hope you and your family had a good Thanksgiving 👊🏻
Thank you. Hope you did too. 😊

Boats.net for cheaper OEM parts and Pro Marine for after market. I'm not sure about used parts. Thanks for watching 😊
Those oetiker clamps work well on smaller hoses but I’ve seen a lot of those larger ones fail on the Verados. Nice running motor otherwise

I actually have not seen a Next Gen generator. I also don't go that far south. Sorry. The 305 Whaler is a nice boat. 😊
What's the difference between the 400 l6D vrs 400 l6M
I have never heard of those models. Usually it's just 400 Verado L6. The normal 400 horsepower version and then they have the 400R. Racing version.
@Justin Lee hmm ok when I looked one up said 400M

@Justin Lee o well that's great news! The dealer told me it was a v6 2023 motor inline 6 maybe he dosent know?

Seeing that Boston Whaler fucked up like that caused me to cringe so bad. Those boats are really expensive. A 270 Vantage new is $200,000.
