Please do a Podcast on Carrie's how to stay in/get in shape. She always looks fab and as a lady of a similar age who travels a lot it would be great to know how to travel & stay in shape. We travel to Vietnam next week for a month based on your recommendations. 😊Xx

I saw that New Zealand is a someday destination for you. My husband & I took a transpacific cruise from Vancouver BC to Auckland, 23 days. This was 2019, Sept. repositioning. I watched the price daily for a few months and got it at the low of $1400 each, inside cabin. It was fantastic. New Zealand is gorgeous, and its society is the absolute best. I have many stories of kindness and friendliness. We were there for a month. We want to go back, but would like it to be Jan/Feb, their summer. Best to you both. We watch every week.

That sounds like an amazing trip! We are considering a transpacific from Tokyo to Vancouver, BC with stops in Japan and Alaska. With Vancouver only being an hour from our hometown in WA. State it seems like an obvious choice. Thanks, you two for watching!!

Nobody is doing the "slow travel" podcast seriously. If you can make a condensed version that is information dense, then you'll definitely find a good audience. each episode should be no longer than 24 mins. Here's a wishlist:
Episode 1: What is Slow Travel and Who is it For?
Episode 2: How to Quickly Evaluate Airbnbs - Bring All Your Expertise
    Episode 3: Costs
Episode 4: Energy Levels and Planning
    Episode 5: Food
    Episode 6: Emergency Situations
Episode 7: Discovery and Learning in New Places
Episode 8: Relationships on the Go
Episode 9: Evaluation of Countries and Continents
Episode 10: Clothing, Minimalism, and Packing

Since I am headed to Turkiye for seven weeks this summer, I look forward to your return trip. Also, excited to hear you are going to Rhodes. When I was 20 (back pack, sleeping bag, youth hostels, etc. Whole trip was $500-600 over three months) I spent a month in Greece and a week on Rhodes sleeping on the beach in the small town of Lindos. Also, there is a butterfly 🦋 valley on the island, like in Mexico, so check it out. Look forward to your videos. Cheers

    A lovely itinerary for 2024!
For overnight ferries within Greece, I have tried a few different ways. Blue Star has more modern ships and lots of people camp out on the banquette seating or even bring sleeping bags and find a quiet corner for sleeping without booking a cabin. I imagine that this is easier during the week when there are fewer people on board. I have also taken Anek, which has older ships, but is cheaper and less expensive for booking a cabin.
For Crete, I definitely recommend Chania, Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos as beautiful towns! Cretan honey and 'malotira' herbal tea rock!!
For Mexico City, I do recommend taking along preventive care if you have delicate sinuses like me (saline sprays, etc.) because of the air pollution. A fascinating place despite the pollution :)
Looking forward to your next videos! Karyn

Happy 2024 and Happy February (wow). Another brilliant and easy to watch video. First, Carrie your hair looks absolutely amazing ... full, shiny and love the colour! You're going to love Dublin! Is there anyway you can extend your trip to even just one other location or longer in Dublin? It's so worth the time and dollars. I assume Brian you have already booked tickets for the Guinness Storehouse. We have Türkiye on our shortlist for this year so who knows maybe we'll be able to buy you both a beer ...🙂Looking forward to your thoughts and how you like Mexico as it's just one country that has never been on our bucket list. And, as we watch your videos religiously every week we will be treating ourselves to one of your hoodies (as a thank you for all your brilliant and hard work on these videos). Take care and travel-on ... !

Thank you so much for watching our channel, we are incredibly grateful! Enjoy the hoodies!! ❤

I think it would be quite interesting to have an exchange of experience with other RUclips couples that you Find in your destinations.. their stories, How they started, what is their approach on full time travel.. i watch for example flying the Nest, ian and anna, raising voyagers etc and none of them are similar but they are still very likeable ..or maybe Even one on family.. How they deal with you being Away So much time.. maybe invite some of them to share their first thoughts when you first started your adventure..don’t worry ..ideas will come in time and your community is small but loyal.. ps : a heads-up for 2025-Schengen rules are changing so some new countries will be included this year.. all the best for the new year 🎉

Hi guys! Nice travel plans for 2024. I agree with you about the slow travel. Good idea using Turkey as a bit of a base and jumping off point. Rhodes and Crete will be more expensive, but you learned how to cut costs during your trip to Mikonos. I loved Mexico City but was not so keen on the costal resorts. My favorite places in Mexico - Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, Puerto Escondido, a tour of Sumidero Canyon by boat (Chiapas state) and Grutas Tolantongo in Hidalgo (bit out of the way though). Puerto Morelos is one of my favorite places, been going there on and off for the last 25 years, it's gotten a lot busier over the years - when I first went there in the 90s it was a very small fishing village but it still has a lot of the quiet vibe thankfully, a lot different from Cancun up north :D

Sounds like a great plan. We've been living/traveling Mexico for the last two years. Where you want to go depends on what angle you want your videos to project. Tourism? Expats? Retirement? Culture? or all of the above. 😁 Mexico City is a good start. Haven't been but many recommend. Guadalajara is a fun and vibrant city with lots to do. If you make it there, Tequila MX is a must for obvious reasons. The Tequila factory/Agave tours are great and the Tequila's not bad. Oaxaca as you mentioned and also Puebla are the two foodie capitals of Mexico. Can't go wrong with either. If you make it to Oaxaca, try to go down to Huatulco/Peurto Escondido. Beaches are fantastic. La Paz in Baja Sur was a fantastic surprise. Smallish city on the Sea of Cortez with arguably the prettiest beach in MX. It's about 2 hours north of Cabo. Lots of other places I could mention. Sorry I didn't mention anything on the East coast/Qroo. Haven't been to that area.

Love the plan. I really wanted to see more of Turkey in your videos. The videos from last year made me look at Turkey totally differently. It was never really on my radar. And when you do Mexico please let us know about safety. I knew someone from Mexico City that would never bring their own children back due to safety issues. Mexico has been on the travel advisory for Americans for quite a while but I keep hearing digital nomads talking about how great it is. I keep wondering what the true story is. Can’t wait to hear your perspective. I know you’ll be completely honest. Can’t wait.

I'm so happy and excited that you guys have decided to start a podcast! You haven't shared your thoughts on the format/length/frequency of your episodes, but the one thing I want to suggest is to have a dedicated slot in each episode for listener questions. You do them in big bunches from time to time on RUclips, but here you'll have a chance to interact more regularly and pick the questions to answer more strategically.
Other than that, I'm sure topics like travel budgets for various destinations, your pros and cons of each city will be in high demand.

How exciting you guys! Looking forward to the newsletters and the podcast 🤩 A recommendation for Mexico and on the Yucatan Peninsula, would be Bacalar 100%. It is so chill and beautiful. I lived in Playa del Carmen for a year - hated it. Puerto Morelos is ok. Merida is nice if you don't mind melting. Lived there for a year and still have many friends there who absolutely love it. I also lived in Queretaro which is about 3.5 bus ride north of Mexico City, but I would say to just spend the time in CDMX. There's MORE than enough to keep you busy. Would you ever consider doing a live stream? That would be so much fun!

Hi Brian and Carrie. Thanks for being such an inspiration. My wife and I live in Spokane and are also 53 so we can identify! We aren’t full-time travellers (yet)but are shooting for two big trips a year. We were in Istanbul, Cappadocia and Fethiye last fall. LOVED Fethiye and also took the Ferry to Rhodes for the day. Rhodes is a big Cruise ship port so be prepared for the day tripper crush at the port. Unfortunately, we were only there for the day so couldn’t get too far away. As you probably already know the Dalmush buses are super cheap in Fethiye. We took one to Olideniz beach. Love hanging out and watching the hundreds of paraglides above us. Also highly recommend the sunset Kayaking tour to St Nicholas Island. It was just my wife, me and the guide. Very reasonable price and one of our best travel memories. Can’t wait to watch your trip and relive our memories.

Merida is awesome but it will be super hot if you were traveling anytime other than December January. Just something to keep in mind! We were just there in December and had a terrific time downtown and a lovely day at the beach in Progresso. With the new train, you could also easily get to Cancun, Valladolid, and Tulum for more exploring. We live in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, at least six months a year as our homebase. We love it! If you stay in Mexico City for a month, San Miguel and Guanajuato could be a great long weekend trip (or longer!). Another great weekend trip from Mexico City is Valle de Bravo - lots of adventure sports and a super charming town on a lake up in the mountains where it is nice and cool. We also love Colonia Americana in Guadalajara if you are looking for a city experience that isn’t quite so big as Mexico City.

Can’t wait to see all that you’re doing this year. I have a recommendation for eastern Mexico. I spent 10 days in Isla Mujeres in 2019 and loved it. It’s just off the coast of Cancun but nothing like the craziness I found in Cancun. Do you mind discussing your dental needs in Turkey and why did you decide on getting it done in Turkey? I need to have some dental work done also. I lived in Turkey for a couple years a long time ago (military) and loved it. I really want to get back there.
Ideas about your podcast….only because I have these questions. How do you set/determine your budget for the year. How do you keep your US number inexpensively? Do you get an eSIM for every country you go to?

Make sure you go to Crete Brian and Carrie ❤, I spent 14 days there a few years ago and it was a fabulous experience. Heraklion has one of the best museums in the world and is also close to Knossos. Some items from Knossos are on display in the museum. There's tons to see in Rethymnon, which is also beautiful, and buses go regularly from Heraklion. Tickets can be bought at the bus station or on line. Chania is also on the bus route and is probably the most beautiful city in Crete, with its Venetian and Ottoman influences. I loved all three cities. Almost everyone spoke English but appreciated I spoke some basic Greek. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants in Crete. You can find them online. I have never eaten so well or felt so welcome anywhere in the world as I did in Crete 😊❤. Curiously some restaurants don't have a menu. You simply enter and they're cooking six dishes a day, which you can see in the kitchen, then decide what you want. It works remarkably well and the portions are huge. On a practical note, there's a Mark's and Spencer shop in Heraklion. For me that's a big plus. Marks and Spencer make the best bras in the world, managing a tricky combination of attractive and comfy at the same time.
