Exactly the first thing I thought about when I bought my pickup, VE's will be good for the normal drives around the city, but living in Baguio and working as an architect with sites on top of mountains, I opted for the Pro4x for the convenience ,comfort and the confidence of driving my car to my sites without me worrying about getting stuck in the mud or struggling to climb steep driveways. It all boils down to the purpose of the car, if it's gonna be driven around the city then VE will be the best choice.

Well for me, the main reason why 4x2 is so popular here in the philippines is affordability. Many Filipinos have been dreaming to own a pickup truck for a reasonable price and 4x2 is the answer. For pickup purist a pickup must be a 4x4 thats the essence of a pickup truck. Though most of the time you dont need a 4x4 capability but as what common knowledge says "better have it and not need it than need it and not have it"
I strongly agree with you Sir, me I have a 4X4 Strada and mostly some of my friends here in Mindanao who owns a 4X2 pick up always regret that he should have taken a 4X4 instead of taking a 4X2.
Thank you for your video… I purchased my Nissan Navara 12 months ago, struggled with the decision of 4x4 or 4x2. In Australia the ST-X model is optioned the same. Since I drive most of the time in the city I got the 4x2… have taken it off road on dry dirt tracks and had no problems. The 4x2 suits my needs, cheaper to purchase, and cheaper to run.
I'm from South Africa and bought a 4x2 Navara 2 days ago. I am extremely happy with my purchase and not missing any 4x4. The vehicle is also much more economical to run.
I like when you said the financial reality sets in. While it feels good to always getting the best that we can afford, I don’t think it is always what we need, just like a 4x4 vehicle. I don’t think we need 4x4 trucks or SUVs if it isn’t really a part of our lifestyle. We just have to choose the best 4x2 out there. It’s a good thing I was able to get a 10-speed 4x2 AT ford wildtrak with differential lock before they changed it back to the basic 4x2 specs. Just my opinion. No bashing. 😊
Yeah one of the few considerations between Ford and other brand's lower variants/4x2. They nerfed the non wildtrak variants masyado, if you look at this Nissan VE busog parin sa features, lamang pa sa Hilux G variant (interior specs lang ha).
You can get away with light off-roading with a 4x2 but in all seriousness, if your pickup do get stuck in a difficult situation, you'd really wish you had a 4x4. City folks don't need 4x4. When are they going to use it? What's the point lugging around the extra weight if you never use it? I know a city girl who drives a Jimni. She has never used the 4x4. Not once. She doesn't even want to go off roading. I'm like, "what's the point? She likes how the 4x4 "looks." And then there's me - driving up trails in the mountains in a FWD Volkswagen Caddy TDI or a 4x2 v6 ute. Both are fun, different challenges. I can get to places 4x4 go.
Is really hard to decide a good pick up truck and honestly I’m still confused on getting a 4x4 or a 4x2 because my wife is from the province of Bacolod and is a kind of mountain trip to get to her family’s house so with that being said I need something a truck that has power from the engine to climb that tough road
if you can afford, go with 4x4. it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it but you don't have it. you can always switch it to 2H when you don't need 4wd.
@@zamhendrick5476 I appreciate your message and I have decided to go with the 4x4 pick up truck because I know I will need the extra power in the Philippines with their different terrains out there

is the nissan navara 4x2 MT reliable ? I plan to upgrade my 2010MT fortuner to a pick up and hesitant to get a hilux due to its ride comfort any feed backs is appreciated.
I suppose if you need a 4x4 more then 20% of the time it would be worth it in term confidence when needed vs Higher Fuel Cost and long term Maintenance. Anything less then that and you are paying for Dead weight , and higher cost.
People who own a 4x4 pickup never ask this question becquse they owned one since the beginning. 4x4 is a necessity not a preference. I've owned a 4x4 because I have a farm in pampanga and in the rainy reason the roads become muddy. My family has always owned a 4x4 pickup period. Unlike others na luho lang ito, we actually use it or else we wont be able to go home
Buy 4x4 if you tow a boat. High speed rainy day (4H). Steep slippery uphills. In Baguio innova more than capable without 4x2. My Mrs drives all wheel drive while I drive 4WD
Among the 4x2 trucks, I chose the Mitsubishi Strada GLS RalliArt. The best Looking pick up in the market and performance wise the fastest In the 0-100 Dash against competition. The Navara is good but it's engine NVH enters inside the cabin.
When you live in mindanao, you need 4x4 or awd. My friend's 4x2 strada got stuck in the parking area of the restaurant we were at. My 4 door awd sedan didn't have a hard time. 😂
I'd rather get a van than a non-4x4 truck. I just can't see the practicality of a truck. We own both. But the van is more practical although the ride is much more comfortable in the truck. Maybe it's because of the leaf and coil spring rear suspension combination.

Not once. She doesn't even want to go off roading. I'm like, "what's the point? She likes how the 4x4 "looks."
And then there's me - driving up trails in the mountains in a FWD Volkswagen Caddy TDI or a 4x2 v6 ute. Both are fun, different challenges. I can get to places 4x4 go.
Merry christmas autodeal
Does the VL comes with all the features as well?
Is really hard to decide a good pick up truck and honestly I’m still confused on getting a 4x4 or a 4x2 because my wife is from the province of Bacolod and is a kind of mountain trip to get to her family’s house so with that being said I need something a truck that has power from the engine to climb that tough road
if you can afford, go with 4x4. it's better to have it and not need it, than to need it but you don't have it.
you can always switch it to 2H when you don't need 4wd.
@@zamhendrick5476 I appreciate your message and I have decided to go with the 4x4 pick up truck because I know I will need the extra power in the Philippines with their different terrains out there
What does Sir Caco drive?
Do you have a review for JAC T8 Pro?
I'm just a little worried bout the resale price tho.
I'm also not a Tagalog, fully countryside bumpkin here, I think the word is "minamaliit"?
Boss pa review naman ng MUX 1.9 RZ4E. Is the base model really good?
Tons of 4x4? Its simply because no brand is offering 4x2 variant offering all techs that comes with 4x4 variant!
Sir pareview namn po ang JAC T8 ultimate.
Can Caco pls do a review on the onitsuka maybe? 🤭
The review is good but please do not digress and talk about other brands. It is a Navarra review after all.
“It’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it”
Wrong. And just funny.. Lool
@@flimosnl7817 not enough funds to buy a 4x4 variant? If so let me know i’ll hook you up 1.450M for the 4x4 variant 😂
Looks & comfort city driving =Navarra
Navara ve at 4x2 or ford next gen 4x2 at xlt?
Hi Sir, would like to confirm if you already have actual experience whereas your Navara fully stopped when you encountered a stopped vehicle or pedestrian in from of you?
I haven’t seen any test yet locally on the functionality of Nissan Navara’s intelligent mobility autonomous emergency braking,
Thank you Sir 😊
i confirm that this is working, navara calibre 2023 user here, it automatically breaks when i encountered a vehicle suddenly stops in front of me, it breaks first faster then me. saved me that day..
How about the Nissan X-trail e-power, available na ba sya sa Pinas?
at or manual - 4x4?
I prefer the cleaner look of the VE without the red accents and roof rails.
applied na po ba excise tax for pickup come jan 1st 2023?
4x4 is more reliable in province
we do have 4x2 and 4x4 and
4x4 will always beat it on the farm and on the unforgiving terrain
Dream car for pick up is PRO4X, DMAX or Hilux
4×2 is good in uphill?
The back seats are uncomfortable for long distance
I would love it if you guys can take a look at the chery tiggo 8 pro phev
is the nissan navara 4x2 MT reliable ? I plan to upgrade my 2010MT fortuner to a pick up and hesitant to get a hilux due to its ride comfort any feed backs is appreciated.
Super po ang navara ☺️☺️ car driving experience at a pick up convenience
how does it feel to drive a MT pick up truck? nakakapagod po ba sya compared sa mga smaller vehicles na MT Din?
Hey caco 22km/l sa ve? Ano po ung takbo ninyo at nasa Ilan na gear Po kayo?
Caco's phrase:"Huwag mong e-smallin^
Jack's phrase: ^ huwag mong mamaliitin"
Probably ito yung gusto nilang sabihin about 4 x 2 pick-up.
If offroading/overlanding is your priority get the 4x4
I suppose if you need a 4x4 more then 20% of the time it would be worth it in term confidence when needed vs Higher Fuel Cost and long term Maintenance.
Anything less then that and you are paying for Dead weight , and higher cost.
Please make a review on 4x4 manual vs 4x4 automatic 😁
I think the only difference between the manual 4x4 VL and AT is the transmission. Same specs and features.
Good info!
Hello Kuya what to suggest? Don’t underestimate 4/2😂
Buy 4x4 if you tow a boat. High speed rainy day (4H). Steep slippery uphills. In Baguio innova more than capable without 4x2. My Mrs drives all wheel drive while I drive 4WD
Boss caco next po review nyo base model 4x4 pick-up truck comparo naman po boss..😁🤟
Ve 4x4 is also a good deal
Nissan should offer a 4x4 el automatic as an option
Among the 4x2 trucks, I chose the Mitsubishi Strada GLS RalliArt. The best Looking pick up in the market and performance wise the fastest In the 0-100 Dash against competition. The Navara is good but it's engine NVH enters inside the cabin.
You dumb? The strada is the ugliest pick up tondate 😂😂, maginified by the new triton coming up, strada gets uglier and uglier
Leaning towards dmax and strada
Merry Christmas autodeal family.
Love the Navara
Sir caco you forgot to tell the price for nissan navara 😅😊
When you live in mindanao, you need 4x4 or awd. My friend's 4x2 strada got stuck in the parking area of the restaurant we were at. My 4 door awd sedan didn't have a hard time. 😂
I'd rather get a van than a non-4x4 truck. I just can't see the practicality of a truck. We own both. But the van is more practical although the ride is much more comfortable in the truck. Maybe it's because of the leaf and coil spring rear suspension combination.
Mitsubishi galant 7th gen at the back ❤️❤️
I think 4x4 is only applies when you were using off road always. But 4x2 is just enough for daily commuting using pavement roads and offroad
