I really believe that the best way to learn about a country is through it's food. Mauritius is definitely no exception with it's spectacular street food...
Lucky i want married you
Totally agree with you.
Hello Staying in Port Louis next week, can you tell me how safe is it and any general advice..thank you..Greetings from Ireland
Hello John! Port Louis is pretty safe compared to many other cities. I guess the general street smart rules apply though - don't flash smart watches and phones around etc (particularly late at night). Otherwise, I really haven't heard of anyone getting into trouble there. Good Luck!
@@LucyLeheilleix Hello Lucy...Thank you for your reply, and advice..Take care....Greetings from Ireland
Was there last June, nice island and friendly people.....Greetings from Ireland

Tell her to make you try "haleem .. mine bouille et boulettes "
From the q.bornes food court itself

Only a pleasure. I enjoy exploring this beautiful country.
Maurituis looks beautiful and I would love to visit there. It looks very similar to Trinidad in the Caribbean off of Venezuela. Peace and love ❤️ to Mauritius.
im a mauritian , glad that you loved the food ❤
The food is wonderful! I'm thinking of bouillon boulettes right now!
Pick pocket ???? Like everywhere else .but I don’t think you should have mention it.If you are travelling to Brazil I agree ☝️
Rafick Jafferalli Thanks for commenting, and well noted!
Must have been told so by her Mauritian guide! no surprise here! In fact there has never been a reported 'pick pocket' incident in that market. To be cautious is one thing. To make gratuitous allegations is another thing. This is not London or other towns in UK.
Apologies if you find my comment gratuitous. I was merely following instructions from someone who has immense knowledge of the market. Crime is on the increase everywhere in the world I'm afraid.
Spain Barcelona is full of pick pockets. I had to be very careful when I was in Barcelona. I don't know about Mauritius. 🇬🇧
Lovely good making me hungry 🇬🇧
She said the fruit and vegetable market is open every Wednesday and Saturday. The street food market with gato piment and dhall puri is open everyday.
Thanks for this info. I think what she meant to state is that Wednesday and Saturday there is more fruit and veg on sale than clothes and other goods.
Proud to be mauritian!!
Ruwaidaa Jhugroo and so you should be. The country is beautiful and the people are wonderful!

Dhall puri wowww
So good hey?!
Hi liked your video we are going in October what are the food prices like outside? we like seafood & fish but also like to try the local cusine any info much appreciated .
Mauritius is on my travel list ....
Definitely a great place to visit. Very beautiful place and friendly people.
I won't advise you to go. You will have to pay more than MUR 150,000 for quarantine and then spend more money for some vacation. The situation is very tensed here. Maybe you have to pray so that Mauritius can be in a better situation so that you go for vacation.
Just tomorrow morning you prepare bread and butter before your trip and you buy gateau piment along your way to eat with your bread, would be well planned task.I am deciding to try it.
Very nice place I would love to visit your east Indian culture is similar to ours in Trinidad and Tobago
i am a mauritian and i live in Quatre Bornes
Great Vibes! Love your style
Thanks very much for watching!

Pick pocket isn't something rare in Mauritius...you gotta be really careful
Hi great video
I would like to know what's the reggae music in your background. 😉
Hi Lucy, glad to see this another amazing content from you. According to you which place is more expensive for cost of living Quatres bornes or Port Louis?
Thanks for watching! I presume you’re talking about rental costs? I’d say Port Louis is more expensive.
miss my country

First Time I saw ur video, do you live in Mauriitus or you were on holidays?
I live here. For over 4 years now.
@@LucyLeheilleix That's Great, Really appreciate your videos, looks like we share the same passion, hope to meet you one day!
Rich culture
Amazing! Which one is the best month to go there and enjoy the beach without rain or clouds? 😊
Hi Sebastian,
My favorite time is May when it’s still warm and there’s less rain. Dec-feb are very hot and wet.
I hope you can come to the island soon!
Aaaah i hope you enjoyed our little island, if it was the 1st time there, i'm a bit sad that you didn't get to know how lovely and vibrant, Mauritian markets were some years ago. Still not bad nowadays tbh. Make some good friends there and they will prevent you from getting scammed and so on. Oh and i forgot to mention that there's a soup called "boulettes", this is also typical Mauritian food, although more on the Asian side of things.
I love boulettes. They are very famous in Tamarin.
@@LucyLeheilleix Oh yes they are and they're kinda good remedy for hangovers haha.
Oh my gosh gato pima my favvvv I love tose
I love them too!
Never thought of alooda as smoothie lool.so if someone asks me what this is,I would just say smoothie, good idea.
Sima Islamia Or you could say milkshake!
@@LucyLeheilleix yaa
Alooda is mauritian version of Indian Falooda...
jhvssssss,\jsh that was my favourite but yeah i would have never thought it to be a smoothie lol.
Hi Lucy. I am currently in Mauritius. Where is this market?
Hi Dianna. This market is in Quatre Bornes.
Top
Merci!
Pick pocket I don't think so
Just be careful of Scam!
Scams - I guess like most places in the world. You can never be too careful!
Pick pockets in Mauritius😳 No way. There are none compared to where I’m from
Hey yo dont take it personal.Ignorance is bliss.Obviously she must have had a bad experience somewhere else or she presumed most third world countries r alike.Chill out.
@@shunmooghumvadivelu3729 dude i am mauritian and i experienced pick pocket trouble
there are pick pockets just not a lot
Compared to other countries there’s no pickpocket in Mauritius
Wow beautiful contry
hiruni kawya Isn’t it just?! So much to see...
thank you very much for interesting info, can you make video just about fruits and vegetables, I am planning to move to the island
Thanks for watching! Sure I can make a video like that. Coming at you soon :)
I am from Mauritius
What a great country it is!
The fabric shops and food reminds me of India.
Mauritius is a multi cultural island, where there are immigrants people from all part of India, China and slavery were brought there from Africa, these beautiful people today make Mauritius Island, where everyone lives peacefully hand in hand.
So true. It is a very harmonious place to live.
Loving the video keep it up 👍
Nagatuseyo Anti Thanks so much! Loving the food Mauritius has to offer!
super country
I'm from Mauritius I live at Pamplemousse near ssr garden
That's awesome. Your country is beautiful.
Mauritius is NOT a third world country, it is the richest country in Africa, I don't know why you mentioned pick pockets I have never experienced that, would you have said that if you were visiting paris? where there are actual pickpocketers??
Thanks for commenting. Prior to coming to the market I was told by my Mauritian friend (who frequents this market a lot) to wear my bag the way I did as there are pickpockets. Better to be safe than sorry - and I mentioned it so that people are aware of these things.
Just bcoz it's a rich country...doesn't mean that pickpockets don't exist! If you've never experienced it...doesn't mean others did not!❤
You must be a joker to say its the richest country in Africa. Boy/girl bye!
Good
Thanks!
Amazing content! Keep up the good work!👍
Thank you for watching!
Hello Lucy, is there a recommendation to ba vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B if eating street food? Thank you.
Hello. No recommendations at all (as far as I know).

I use epidemicsound.com for the tunes for my videos. Thanks for watching!
Love from india
Hello from Mauritius :)

Thanks very much!
Dholl Puri VOAR is the best Dholl Puri and Roti stall in QBornes...don't eat more than two tho 😋
He, he, yes, two is my limit!
I live in Mauritius
I like to taste... Food
Happy to Help As do I! This food was amazing!
pick pockets in Mauritius? No this is a fake speculation
Apparently not so fake - according to my Mauritian friend who comes to this market very often. Always good to take precautions. That said, Mauritius is one of the safest places I have ever lived.
@@LucyLeheilleix That's correct, although Mauritius is a safe place to live, it is always good to be careful with your wallet or backpack in crowded places. Like everywhere else in the world there is always some petty thieves out there.
Невероятно!
I live in Mauritius 😉
You're very lucky indeed!
And im a mauritian too
That’s awesome!
