That feeling of the first start after a rebuild always got my heart pumping listening for any not normal noises..Hope its up and running soon for you mate..
Here's a tip for your consideration: when inspecting the con rods, hold the wrist pin end up to the light and look thru the oil passage from the rod bearing saddle...you can determine if there is a slight bend in the rod.
